Today we took a trip to #reykjavik to the Aurora Museum as we had failed to see the Aurora Borealis whilst on our mini break. It's a small museum but definitely worth a visit.

THINGS TO DO in Iceland (in this episode):

► Eyjafjörður Fjord - One of the best places in Iceland to see the Northern Lights. Northern Iceland has very little light pollution, so tracking the Northern Lights over the Fjords is a great idea.

► Ásbyrgi Canyon - This massive canyon was formed way back after the ice age as melting glacier floods ripped giant divots into the earth and left this beautiful valley and rock walls in its path.

► Northern Lights - In order to have the best chance of seeing the Northern Lights in Iceland, check out this website we used to track the cloud coverage and aurora activity.


► Godafoss Waterfall - An expansive horseshoe-shaped cascade that’s probably my favorite waterfall of the entire trip.

► Hverir or Namafjall geothermal field - Located in northeastern Iceland around the geothermal region of Lake Mývatn - a vast area of hot springs, sulfur crystals, and boiling mud pots.

► Dettifoss Waterfall - Said to be Europe’s most powerful waterfall, and we’re getting a unique perspective - by moonlight.

Arriving in Reykjavik Iceland and seeing the Northern Lights || Iceland Travel Vlog

In this video we are arriving in Reykjavik Iceland. On our first day we hired a car, checked into our hotel and ate at IKEA before going on a northern lights tour in Iceland.

Here we caught the Mount Ulriken cable car to see the best view of Bergen from the top of Mt Ulriken.

Seeing the aurora borealis in Iceland was by far the best thing of our trip to date. Seeing the Northern Lights in Iceland was a dream come true for us, we were extremely lucky to see it.

We would recommend you go to Iceland in winter just for the chance to see the Northern Lights. We hope you enjoy watching this Iceland travel vlog. If you haven't watched our previous vlogs we recommend you go see those ones first.

Aurora over Reykjavik, Iceland

This short film from ´Iceland Aurora Films´ is all shot in the center of Reykjavík, Iceland. It was extremely technically complicated to make the film, due light pollution of the city. A strong Aurora, displays this winter (2015-2016), and some Aurora shapes you see in the film has never been seen before.

Northern Lights in Iceland (Aurora Borealis) - Dec 2016 Reykjavik

Shot using a combination of sony a6000, a5000 and go pro + Joby Gear. The northern lights only lasted for about 5 - 10 minutes (after weeks of rain and cloud cover!) so this was all that we could capture. We are so happy that we got to witness this beautiful natural phenomenon! I hope that you enjoy this video. I really had quite the experience watching them and capturing their beauty.
