THINGS TO DO in Iceland (in this episode):
► Eyjafjörður Fjord - One of the best places in Iceland to see the Northern Lights. Northern Iceland has very little light pollution, so tracking the Northern Lights over the Fjords is a great idea.
► Ásbyrgi Canyon - This massive canyon was formed way back after the ice age as melting glacier floods ripped giant divots into the earth and left this beautiful valley and rock walls in its path.
► Northern Lights - In order to have the best chance of seeing the Northern Lights in Iceland, check out this website we used to track the cloud coverage and aurora activity.
► Godafoss Waterfall - An expansive horseshoe-shaped cascade that’s probably my favorite waterfall of the entire trip.
► Hverir or Namafjall geothermal field - Located in northeastern Iceland around the geothermal region of Lake Mývatn - a vast area of hot springs, sulfur crystals, and boiling mud pots.
► Dettifoss Waterfall - Said to be Europe’s most powerful waterfall, and we’re getting a unique perspective - by moonlight.

Reykjavik Aurora
We at Iceland Aurora Films have been busy filming the northern lights this winter, in rather unusual locations. This short film is all shot in the center of Reykjavík, Iceland and was extremely technically complicated to make due to the light pollution. We got really lucky with strong Aurora displays this winter, and some Aurora shapes we´ve never seen before. We spent a total of 30 nights outside filming. Some of the locations have never been filmed from at night, like the final scenes at Hallgrímskirkja cathedral, but we were lucky enough to be up there during the massive solar eruption on the 17th of march 2015! TRIP TO ICELAND IN WINTER - NORTHERN LIGHTS, VOLCANOES, AND GLACIERS - VLOG
Watch as we explore the highlights of Iceland during a four day winter trip to see the northern lights in March.
The trip starts in the Golden Circle, where we visited UNESCO-listed Thingvellir National Park, Strokkur geyser and Gullfoss waterfall.
Day two, we go off-roading to the top of Eyjafjallajökull, check out the black sand beach of Vik, Skógafoss waterfall, Seljlandsfoss waterfall, and trek to the top of Sólheimajökull glacier.
Day three, we visit downtown Reykjavik, the Blue lagoon, and take a boat ride to see the northern lights.
Day four, we visit Reykjavik to see the view from Hallgrimskirkja church. Enjoy!

ICELAND ROAD TRIP with Northern Lights!
A one week (7 days) roadtrip around Iceland on the ringroad with a Camper Van is an Adventure of a lifetime! There are many attractions to see along the road and this is a recap of the things we have seen and done.
We were lucky enough to see many waterfall, sunsets/sunrises, rainbows, fjords, icebergs, volcanos, hotsprings, and Northern Lights as Lady Aurora followed us for a few nights. We also explored famous places like Reykjavik, Akureyri, Godafoss, Myvatn, Jokulsarlon (glacier lagoon), Skogafoss and Seljalandsfoss.

This roadtrip is one that I will cherish my whole life as I shared it with my beautiful friends in my favorite country on Earth!

The Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis are a strange natural phenomenon that can only be witnessed in the most northern regions of the globe. We had the once in a lifetime opportunity to go to Yellowknife Canada and watch the best aurora of the entire year so far. It was truly a magical moments that no words will ever be able to describe. This is a moment I will cherish for the rest of my life.
