The exhibition is quite not bad! It shows Paris as socio-cultural phenomenon. It is called socio-cultural due to the inseparable existence of SOMETHING (air, atmosphere and many other), what is pictured is there. It is called socio-cultural because combination of architecture, special relations style, behaviour (flexibility), proximity to life is observed in the exposition.
Here we can see another Paris which the French are proud of: Paris with new advanced technologies, they are under photomontage. The author displays the object, shows it in different versions, from different perspectives, three-dimensionally. Combination of anthropogenic works with pleasant, sweetheart, postcard cyclus gives you opportunity to meet the city as well as to feel something new (and fresh) that witnessed Yana Zerkalova personally.
Series of photos (instantaneity plus message clearness) are not at all reportorial, but all the same have documentary value and in spite of obvious privacy are the EVIDENCE (I confirm that I have even found a couple of my favourite places).
Here we can single out the image (just so!) of the Eiffel Tower, which has become recognizable and hackneyed symbol (some time before) of the technical progress. In the exhibition it is disjoint into lacy fiery- warm traceries (paradigm shift) and therefore reflects exactly present-day frame of the Parisians' mind, where rap can lay the groundwork for aesthetic, stirring dance performance.
Although one should start from the name, especially when it is intentionally given in the encoded form: Paris is clear, collage (not so, but) is also clear -- it is present; although it is not only a collage. And the poste is a message to us, a post. Written in French! And the com is quite easy -- it is communication. (Or maybe expression of hope (wish) for some COMmercial effect - photo art works as something to be acquired and be worshipped).
Sophisticated name - Paris.collage@poste.com, but not for those who use internet; and if you consider photography to be one of the types of modern art, that goes hand in hand with other types (nowadays so called electronic art) of up-to-the-minute technological arts, namely: video art, video made with mobile phones, photos made by these cellys, internet art, interactive art... stop. This exhibition has only a few anthropogenic innovations -- computer collaging (justification of which is disputed by orthodox photographers- traditionalists).
And topically -- hah! There is hardly the one who has not been to Paris! French spring in Ukraine has just finished with the wonderful film Paris, je t'aime, and before it there was another one..., and another. However, Paris for every European (and not only for European) is his Sacre coeur (Saint heart -- the name of the Cathedral, rising above the Montmartre); and not even the heart, but the concentration of such Europeanness, which is everywhere there. Yet first comes the charm of authenticity. Authenticity of everything.
