'Its Your Place' SA Arid Lands Plan Launch in Pt Augusta, 25 July 2017
A new 10-year strategy for managing natural resources in the SA Arid Lands region was launched by the SA Arid Lands Natural Resources Management Board on 25 July 2017 in Port Augusta.
The Regional NRM Plan – It’s your place: a roadmap for managing natural resources in the SA Arid Lands region 2017-2027 – provides guidance for the planning, actions and investments of all communities, industries and government involved in natural resources management in the region. Hear from Board Members talk about the plan and what it means to people in the SA Arid Lands region.

SAWC Season 5, Episode 3 - Port Augusta
Port Augusta is often overlooked and seen only as a refuelling point – NOT ANYMORE! We stopped off there and had our eyes opened to how amazing it is. We showcase the Majestic Oasis Apartments right on the foreshore. The Mayor takes us out crabbing, Mark Ricciuto pops his head in and we also visit the award winning Wadlata Outback Centre.

Lance and I did a quick trip north to the Arid Lands at Pt Augusta then drove down through Quorn and Melrose back home. Saw beautiful scenery, wildlife and birds on the way.

On Friday 19th July 2013, we visited the Australian Arid Lands Botanic Garden (NW Port Augusta, South Australia) and from the vantage point of the red cliffs overlooking Spencer Gulf, we spotted an iron ore train departing from the Port Augusta railway yard - destination Whyalla, South Australia.
The Genesee and Wyoming Australia (GWA) standard gauge, 122 truck train was hauled by DE locomotive GWA001 and pushed at the rear by GWA003 and GWA004.
This video clip includes snippets of the train leaving Port Augusta, passing Lincoln Gap and arriving at the north outskirt of Whyalla.
