In 1984 American artist Keith Haring visited Australia & created a mural in Collingwood, Melbourne. This is the story of the mural which is now one of only 31 known murals by Haring that are still in existence worldwide.

Rock the Cradle
The most famous of Tasmania's multitude of mountains is Cradle Mountain, a dramatic cliff-lined peak rising from the shores of Dove Lake in the state's north-west. View it from the six kilometre (3.7 mile) Dove Lake Circuit walking track or, if you're feeling energetic, climb to Marions Lookout for a stunning view over mountain and lake.
Wander the Sands of Wineglass Bay
A short walk from the car park at Freycinet National Park brings you to a lookout platform above the flawless white curve of Wineglass Bay on the eastern Freycinet Peninsula (three hours drive north-east of Hobart). From here, walk down to the beach and feel the sand between your toes. You'll probably meet a kangaroo or two on the beach, and may see dolphins playing in the water.
Be Seduced by Seafood
Seafood can come no fresher than this, as you take a boat from Hobart's docks for a banquet pulled straight from the ocean on a Tasmanian Seafood Seduction trip run by Pennicott Wilderness Journeys. On this day-long tour towards the coast of southern Bruny Island, you'll harvest oysters straight from a farm's leases, and feast on crayfish and abalone caught by your guide. The catch is barbecued right on the boat.
Meet a Devil
Wildlife parks across Tasmania offer opportunities to see the state's emblematic Tasmanian devil. Take a night tour at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, 30 minutes drive north of Hobart, and you'll get to feed the devils in a tug-of-war game; or join a Devil Tracker Tour at the Tasmanian Devil Unzoo on the Tasman Peninsula (about a one-hour drive south-east of Hobart) to help monitor wild populations.
Go Nuts about Stanley
One look at cute Stanley, on Tasmania's north-west coast, is usually enough to inspire love at first sight. This colourful and welcoming fishing town huddles at the base of a curious rectangular hill named the Nut. It's the plug of a former volcano. Little penguins waddle ashore each night across long Godfreys Beach.
Get Bloomin' excited about tulips
Once a year, Tasmania's Table Cape becomes awash with colour for the Bloomin' Tulips Festival. The festival runs as part of a three-week event calendar (other notable highlights include the Bloomin' Tulips Cocktail Party and the Mayoral Ball). If you miss the festival, there is also the Bloomin' Tulips Foreshore Market, held on the first and third Sunday of each month along the East Wynyard foreshore.

Its been awhile since my last vlog. Been busy with work. And since i have a short break, this episode will shows where i go around Melbourne.
- Brighton beach bathhouses
Thank you to one of my friend Tiffany for helping me shooting some footage while at the beach.
- St.kilda Pier to see small cute little penguins, which took me almost an hour there. Its so challenging thinking of the freezing cold wind blow. If you are lucky enough, you can see some of the dolphins swimming around the pier, which i may be the one.
- Early dinner at Rice Paper Scissors. This place is really recommended. The food is so yummy and the place is not too spacious but yet very cozy. Please be there earlier or else you will need to queue for at least 1 hour after the first batch of customers.
I choose 2 for aud $60 set menu, which allows u to choose 5 dishes from the menu. Those in video are absolutely recommended. Very nice and yummy. Trust me! And visited the Queen Victoria Winter Night Market, which only open every wednesday evening during winter season.

Our new little mate Georgie is one happy young lady as she outbid the crowd to take home a piece of chainsaw art carved by our mate Brandon Kroon. Thanks to the generosity of the visitors to the STIHL #recharge retreat, we raised $854.35 that went to the Monash Children's Hospital, cancer ward.

About Victor Rubin
Victor Rubin is a Melbourne artist (b. 1950 Sydney) who began exhibiting in the 1970's and has held over 40 solo exhibitions. Rubin is represented in all the state and federal galleries and many regional galleries in Australia. He is also represented in the Museum of Fine Art (Taipei), Auckland City Gallery (New Zealand) and in private collections in Europe and America.
My Garden Path: Botanical Artists Wona Bae and Charlie Lawler
Artists Wona Bae and Charlie Lawler have been working together for 12 years but have only started to make a living in the last five! Their backgrounds are both in design, with Wona coming from a fashion base and Charlie from permaculture, but together they work as floral designers, collecting and experimenting with natural materials.
Their current exhibition focuses on ‘Post Bloom’, with seed heads from agapanthus and alliums, dried proteas and dehydrated bananas that have been air drying and form giant textural pieces to include in their sculptures. This piece has taken 18 months so far, as they accumulate materials and work on them in their Collingwood studio.
They also have a series called ‘Hover Wreaths’ – giant sculptural wreaths of different natural materials that they install in urban settings to delight and interact with the public. These works blur the line between the art and the viewer and encourage participation and reaction…with people jumping through the wreaths, posing for selfies and so on.

Melbourne ( (listen) MEL-bən) is the capital and most populous city of the Australian state of Victoria, and the second most populous city in Australia and Oceania. Its name refers to an urban agglomeration of 9,992.5 km2 (3,858.1 sq mi), comprising a metropolitan area with 31 municipalities, and is also the common name for its city centre. The city occupies much of the coastline of Port Phillip bay and spreads into the hinterlands towards the Dandenong and Macedon ranges, Mornington Peninsula and Yarra Valley. It has a population of approximately 5 million (19% of the population of Australia), and its inhabitants are referred to as Melburnians.The city was founded on 30 August 1835, in what was the British colony of New South Wales, by free settlers from the colony of Van Diemen’s Land. It was incorporated as a Crown settlement in 1837 and named in honour of the British Prime Minister, William Lamb, 2nd Viscount Melbourne. It was declared a city by Queen Victoria in 1847, after which it became the capital of the new colony of Victoria in 1851. Contemporary Indigenous artists discuss arts practices and the blak experience. The sessions explore various media, ideas and concerns as well as examine the nature and impact of politically charged Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander visual art.
Laneway Commissions 2011 Artists
Host: Tony Birch has published short fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction, and has also worked as a writer and curator in collaboration with photographers, film-makers, and artists.
Derek Smith representative from Wurundjeri community artists. The Wurundjeri Tribe Land and Compensation Cultural Heritage Council was established in 1985 by descendants of the Wurundjeri people who are the traditional owners of Melbourne and the surrounding country. Their thriving art and craft program enables Wurundjeri members to share and learn about traditional cultural practices.
Yhonnie Scarce artworks often allude to the ongoing effects of colonisation on Aboriginal people and comments on the social and political mores of historical and contemporary Australia. Scarce predominantly utilises materials such as metal, string and textiles to create artworks that are chained, bound and covered; metaphors, she explains, of the process and persistency of colonisation.
Destiny Deacon (Kugu and Erub/Mer) was born in Maryborough, Queensland and raised in Melbourne. She works across the media of photography, video, installation and performance to explore historical issues and contemporary Aboriginal life.
Steaphan Paton art practice is largely concerned with the environment and cultural heritage, and includes print, drawing and painting.
John Harding is a director, actor and one of Australia's leading playwrights, with eleven productions staged and broadcast locally and abroad. A founding member of Melbourne's Ilbijerri ATSI Theatre Cooperative, he works in the hope of creating a space for Indigenous people on the Australian Stage.
