Tsilivi Zakynthos
Tsilivi ligt op het Griekse eiland Zakynthos, ten noorden van Zakynthos Stad, op ongeveer 6 kilometer afstand. Het heeft een 2 kilometer lang uitgestrekt zandstrand en het zeewater is hier betrekkelijk ondiep. Op het mooie strand zijn er tal van watersport mogelijkheden. Bij Tsilivi is ook een waterpark, leuk voor de kinderen.

The Tesoro Hotel, Tsilivi, Zante.
Lovely hotel. It had only been opened a few weeks when we arrived. The staff are all excellent, from Receptionists to bar staff, to waiting staff, to kitchen staff, to chambermaids. If you need anything you only have to ask. On arrival, we had two bottles of chilled water waiting for us in our fridge which was much appreciated!!
This is an all-inclusive hotel, the food here is excellent and lots of choices for everyone.
Breakfast 8 am to 10 am and consists of either a full English or continental, the bacon is reformed meat but still very nice. Choice of fried, boiled or scrambled eggs. Baked beans, mushrooms, chips, bread rolls, toasted bread, croissants and other pastries, just help yourself to as much as you want. Cereals and fresh fruit, various flavoured yoghurts. Fruit juice and a choice of teas and coffees. The lower bar is also open.
Snacks available from 11am from the top bar if you miss breakfast or just want something extra!
Lunch 12.30 to 14.30. Again, a lot of variety, different meats each day, vegetables and chips or oven-baked potatoes. Lots of beautifully prepared salads with choice dressings. Various sweet dishes including ice cream, always fresh fruit.
Dinner 19.00 to 21.30. Different dishes daily, sometimes carvery meat. Lots of salads, various sweet dishes, soup, bread rolls, Vegetarian and vegans could eat here happily too.
You can book one a la carte experience whilst here, the food was lovely though a little cold and the service was quite slow, the staff are still learning so give them a chance, I am not complaining, this was a really nice touch.
Saturday is Greek night. Barbecue food and salads served outdoors by the top bar. Some staff dressed in traditional Greek attire and there was singing and dancing, with crowd participation if you wanted to join in.
The drinks are all cheaper brands but plenty of it, good measures of spirits. Lots of soft drinks.
They say there are two pools here, there is actually a small third paddling pool at the top, perfect for young children as the other two would be too deep for most tots.
There are plenty of sunbeds, unfortunately, there are the usual bed hoggers who place towels on most of them early in the morning. You can borrow a towel from reception for the sunbeds. There are parasol shades if you don't wish to burn.
The rooms are very nice The air con is a godsend in the heat of summer. Many of the rooms have a nice view, we were on the 3rd floor, unfortunately for us, we looked into the stairwell and the back doors of other rooms. We had a minuscule sea view, but there were a few that were worse for no views.
There was a fridge in the room, kettle, hairdryer and plenty of sockets, though our bedside ones were not working. We should have had dressing gown and slippers, as everyone else did, but despite asking 3 times, none were forthcoming. We were a little concerned they may think we had them and stole them. Haha!
There are balconies on all rooms. The beds are very comfortable. You can choose whether or not to have your room cleaned daily at the push of a button. Though we found they still knocked even when you say no.
In the bathroom, there is a walk-in shower, no bath. As with all of Greece you must not flush toilet paper, wipes etc down the loo, there is a bin provided which the chambermaids empty daily. You might want to take biodegradable nappy bags with you to maintain your dignity, us English are not used to this!
Two small bottles of shampoo and body lotion are provided along with two small soaps, a sewing kit and shower cap.
There are lifts in this hotel, but there are also steps and steep slopes with no handrails! I would be worried about bringing children here, far too many trip hazards. Not suitable for anyone with mobility problems as it is built into a hill, from the town there is a very steep hill to walk up. It's not a long hill, but would not be easy for the elderly and/or those with limited mobility. There are lower floor rooms, but still this steep nap up to the hotel and again to the rooms, no handrails.
There is a little entertainment in the form of bingo and quiz games some evenings, but you might prefer to venture into town for better entertainment in any of the pubs. Just bear in mind it's a steep walk back so ladies, you may prefer to wear flat shoes!
There is very little in this hotel for children to do, no play areas, no entertainment (though that may change when school holidays begin), but there are a few things close by that children might like to do.
There are various trips that can be booked at various agents in the town, we found Nefis and Abba travel very good. Also cheaper than what TUI charge. Book quickly though as places fill quickly. You could do this online before you go.
The sister hotel, the Altura is opposite the Tesoro and you can also use their facilities if you want.

Narrator speaks of how many other Greek islands have opened themselves up to tourists. Thasos is changing though, the tourists have found it at last.
Village scenes. Donkeys in the streets, goats being herded along a country road, man washing a melon at a well, beehives made from basket work.
There is a breeze of change in the island air. A new industry has come to Thasos. Bricks are being made in a primitive way. Various processes involved in building new villas and hotels to house to tourists.
Narrator questions whether this is progress or sacrilege. Sabena aircraft arrives and holidaymakers walk into the airport. Shots of beach side housing seen from a boat.
Locals and visitors step down from a ferry. Cars are driven off. Livestock are led off. Fishermen mend nets on the quayside. Scenic shots of the island then footage of some tents close to the beach. Various shots of holidaymakers on the beach. Some nice chunky girls! M/S of girls splashing around in the sea. Good holiday footage. Girl stands on the top of a sand dune and beckons up her boyfriend. They then disappear over the top and walk onto the beach. It hasn't been ruined - it is still a paradise the narrator promises us.
