Florida
In this episode of Cheap Family Travel ( , Nick, Regan, Maggie, and Kate share their Florida vacation with you. The state of Florida offers everything from the beautiful Florida beaches to the world renown Florida theme parks. We started our trip in Pensacola along the Florida Gulf Coast where we got to watch the famous Blue Angels air show. Next, we hit the dolphin-filled waters and beautiful beaches of Panama City, Florida. We Tebowed at the University of Florida, and we visited several other Florida universities. Moving on, our next stop was Homossasa, where we got to swim with and touch manatees. It was the most incredible thing ever. We spent several days in Clearwater and Tampa, Florida. We visited Winter, the star of the movie Dolphin Tale, at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. In Clearwater we walked along the vendors and street performers at sunset at Pier 60, we took a tour of Raymond James Stadium - home of the NFL Tampa Bay Buccaneers - and caught a Rays MLB game. We got to visit the home radio station of Adam and Eric Baker at WKID. We loved it all.
Let's face it, you can't visit Florida without going to Orlando and spending time at Disneyworld. We had three amazing days at the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Disney's Hollywood Studios. Or how about the Kennedy Space Center? It's out of this world. Another must see among Florida attractions is the Florida Everglades. We took an air boat ride and hiked through the Cypress trees and sawgrass finding turtles, birds, alligators and even a saltwater crocodile in Flamingo. We were lucky enough to spend time in the Florida Keys where we snorkeled in Key Largo, rode wave runners around Key West, and visited the Turtle Hospital in Marathon. What a great place.
Finally, we headed up the East coast stopping in Miami, Florida and Miami Beach to visit the new Marlins stadium and to see the the NBA Miami Heat's championship trophy. We checked out South Beach, Daytona Beach, the Golf Hall of Fame, and the Fountain of Youth in St. Augustine.
Our final stop was Jacksonville, Florida. Here we took a Top to Bottom Tour of the city, went kayaking, hiking, took a ride on a dolphin limo, hit the waterslides at Adventure Landing water park, rode bikes along the great beaches and visited the Museum of Science and History (MOSH). The Florida tourism lived up to the hype. Our trip couldn't have been any better. We loved everything about Florida from the Florida gators to Florida Disney. Florida family vacations are full of unique activities and tons of family fun.
