Cycle Tours Ireland - Wild Atlantic Way - Avoca Hand Weavers letterfrack
Just pulled in on the way to Letterfrack at the Avoca Handweavers, they have a number of shops around the country but this being the original one, and we are just outside Letterfrack, and there is a most do on your way into Letterfrack which is Connemara National Park, we would definitely recommend that you pull in there, at Connemara National Park, and that's what we will do, and we will talk to you then when we get there OK.
Wild Atlantic Way e-bike Cycling Tours of The Wild Atlantic Way Stop off at Avoca Hand weavers just before Letterfrack, next stop Connemara National Park.
On your Wild Atlantic way Journey you will find many coastal towns and villages that are famous for that traditional Irish welcome and Gaelic tradition. Many of our locations are off the beaten track, which is why touring Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way by e-bike is such a great thing to do, no hustle and bustle you can just go where you want when you want that's the beauty of e-bikes. Now for those energetic types that are keen to get scenic mountain-top views of Ireland's stretching green landscape, you may want to try going up the Twelve Ben's or Twelve Pins as they are commonly known, here you will find some of the most spectacular views that Ireland has to offer on your Wild Atlantic Way e-bike trip.
The twelve Ben's peaks in main need to be walked, but you can get to the top of one or two on your e-bike but please be careful, this is an experience that is best for the more energetic people, but the rewards are truly awe inspiring. On your e-bike you can cover almost all of the twelve pins range in just one day not just the lower peaks but you will also get to the top of some of the highest ones too. The twelve bens which soar up to 730 metres and once there you can stroll around these awesome peaks, you also have the opportunity to take in Connemara National Park, as this is found near the foothills of the Twelve Pins.

what a terrible story..
Journey to Avoca Mills
Avoca Mills is the oldest woolen mill in Ireland, dating from the 1700s. It sits atop a hill in a tiny village. If there is a place where fairies live, I believe Avoca might be that place. I was enchanted by the beauty of everything in Avoca. The humblest and most simple objects are elevated to a level of artistic expression. Old objects recycled, painted, re-purposed, and used in a beautiful cottage style.
When I came home from Ireland, I found that every memory of place was accompanied by a new melody. I had worried in Ireland that I was not composing, though I had brought a small keyboard with me. I guess I WAS composing all the while, on a sub conscious level. This melody, Journey to Avoca, epitomizes for me the playful yet serious industry that is Avoca Mills. I recorded the sound track in my little home studio in East Tennessee. The photos I took while I was visiting Avoca Mills in March of this year.
