JAPAN FOOD - Awaji Island 淡路島
We continue our travel to Akashi and Awaji Island in search for local tastes. After visiting the fish market in Akashi (please see the previous movie), we took a catamaran speed boat to Awaji. This island is well known for high quality fruits and vegetables (Awaji onions are juicy and sweet), and of course local seafood. We tried local delicacies at Iwaya Port izakaya and happily report to you our impressions :)

Pour finir ce petit voyage de 10 Jours , nous avons choisi la destination de Sumoto , dans la préfecture de Hyogo sur l'Île d'Awaji.
Nous partons en ballade pour découvrir les hauteurs de ce petit village au bord de l'Océan qui offre une magnifique vue tout en haut du Mont Mikuma avec son Château Historique.
Dans la deuxième partie de vidéo, je pars chercher une personne à l'aéroport d'Osaka....encore fallait-il savoir que Osaka dispose de 2 aéroports ....

Japan Travel: Akashi City 明石市 and Awaji Island 淡路島
Last weekend we had a beautiful warm weather that just prompted us to go for a walk to a beach. However, we have already explored Suma and Maiko Beach many times so we decided to head to Awaji Island via Akashi City. After reaching Akashi by JR train we took a look at local fish market where we discovered a local delicacy - akashiyaki (please see our previous movie). Then we took a speed boat to Awaji, after only 13 min ride we found ourselves in Iwaya port. On island we enjoyed a stroll along the sea side, explored some very interesting rock formations and had akashiyaki (again!). It was a very beautiful day indeed.
Places to visit in Japan - Awajishima 淡路島
Awaji Island (淡路島 Awajishima in Japanese) is a not-terribly-large island - about the same size as Singapore - that marks the eastern boundary of the Seto Inland Sea of Japan. Thanks to a set of new bridges and a cross-island expressway, most visitors just zip through on their way from Honshu to Shikoku.

-To see the Naruto whirlpools, stop at the expressway rest area at the southernmost tip of the island near the Onaruto bridge. If you have money to spare, you can take a little boat cruise to see them up close; note that whirlpools only appear when the tide is coming in or out.
- Aside from whirlpools and burial mounds and onions, Awajishima's main claim to fame are its beaches, especially on the more sparsely settled northern coast. They're nothing spectacular by international standards, but a popular nearby summer getaway for Kansai-ites just the same, and Awajishima has many campgrounds that cater to the budget traveller.
-There are also a number of hot springs (onsen), the best known of which are Awaji's largest town Sumoto and the mildly radioactive(!) waters of Iwaya adjacent to the northern bridge.
-The Sumoto Castle [5] requires quite a hike but is a small beautiful castle at the top of a hill and can be seen from all over Sumoto. The view from the top is extraordinary.
-There are two buildings designed by famous Japanese architect Tadao Ando on Awaji Shima: Water Temple [6] and Yume no Butai.
- A section of the Nojima Fault, responsible for the 1995 Great Hanshin earthquake, preserved at Nojima Fault Preservation Museum.
- The Kiseki no Hoshi Botanical Museum [7]is a beautiful stop on the bus line. There are numerous exhibits indoor and out. It is connected to the Westin Hotel.
-Scattered here and there are a number of herb and biwa (loquat) farms. The southern coast, however, is essentially one long semi-urban sprawl filled with the (stink/scent) of ripening onions; the only breaks in the monotony are a fairly hideous (but huge) concrete statue of the Buddhist deity Kannon and the inevitable Onokoro Amusement Park.

Back in Japan 2019! Vlog Series Episode 1
Hi everyone! I went on a short trip to Japan last May of 2019. I made sure to vlog my experiences so I have memories and stories to share with you! I hope you enjoyed today's video!

Naruto x Boruto: Shinobi Zato in Nijigen no Mori
How to get there:
1. Shuttle bus, train, express bus, car
2. Wrapping Bus
3. Commute
I started my route from Osaka Kansai International Airport. From there you can:
a. ride a limousine bus going to downtown Osaka
b. ferry from the airport going to Kobe
c. train ride going to Osaka station
I chose C because I have my luggages with me and I need to secure a locker for them. I can only explain option C since that was my route.
From Kansai International Airport, ride a train going to Osaka Station. Get off at Osaka Station, ride another train from the Tokaido-Sanyo Line and get off at MAIKO STATION.
From Maiko Station, exit the station and head upstairs until you reach the huge bridge that connects Awaji Island and Kobe.
Head to the top floor where the bus stop is located, it is called KOSOKUMAIKO BUS STOP. When you get to the top, you'll see two bus stops. Take the one from the right. From there, it's a 10 minute ride to AWAJI INTERCHANGE. Get off at the first stop (which is Awaji Interchange) and just follow the signs going to Nijigen no Mori.
Remember that you'll be walking a lot so wear comfortable shoes, bring water and pack light. If you're with people who can't walk for a long mile, I suggest you take the shuttle bus. Just take note of their schedules.
Enjoy the view going to Nijigen no Mori and of course, Naruto x Boruto itself.
