Amazing Backcountry Snowboarding in Golden, BC | Beyond the Powder Highway - Ep.3

The Powder Highway connects eight legendary alpine resorts, over a dozen snowcat and heli ops, and has more snowmobile-accessible backcountry than any other stretch of highway in the world… So there’s that. The towns connecting this loop are as rich with personality as they are in history. Quintessential, quirky mountain towns where snowboarding isn’t just something people do, it consumes their daily life.
Convincing four of the most talented and entertaining snowboarders to hit the road on the northern corner of the renowned highway route, we set off on a 14-day adventure fueled by the anticipation of prime backcountry terrain, deep snow, a few perfect turns and a bag of memories we could save as souvenirs. Our homes away from home would be a Toyota Tundra, Tacoma, and the welcoming resorts of Revelstoke, Golden, and the wild backcountry camping scene of postseason operations at Chatter Creek.
For two weeks we would live off weather forecasts, two-stroke exhaust, GPS navigation, inside jokes and campfires. Maybe, at one point, The Powder Highway was merely a sharp title crafted in a BC tourism marketing roundtable, but we were about to discover it was more than a clever name.

The highest point on the Trans Canada Highway is in the Kicking Horse Pass near the Alberta/BC Border, with an elevation of 1643 meters (5390 feet), just a few kilometers east of the Parks Bridge.
The bridge is 13 kilometers east of Golden, BC, and was opened in 2007, making the slow and curvy section of the lower highway obsolete. The height of the bridge is 90 meters above the Kicking Horse River.
The engineering and construction challenge of the Kicking Horse Canyon Project is enormous. A span of less than 35 kilometers of asphalt and bridges is estimated to cost just under $1 billion.
There's a rest area just to the west where people ride along the old highway for a few kilometers. There's also a kayak launch site. The Kicking Horse River is swift moving in this steep canyon and only expert kayakers should attempt the waters. Dry-suits are highly recommended since the water is cold year-round!

Fraught with equipment problems, we fire up the gold mine site for another episode of debauchery. We have found a vein of gold, and we have been exploiting it. Thankfully we are just at the start of it, and we hope that it holds out. There is Gold in the ground and we have a golden opportunity to have a MEGA SEASON. Last season we only reached 11 grams.. This season we have already reached our goal of 3/4 OZT, and smashed through 1 OZT. How far can we go? All we can do is keep washing dirt and fixing machines...

This is a #Canadian #Parody of #GoldRush, a show we have all enjoyed over the years. We are a group of middle aged guys that have too much time on our hands and love GOLD MINING. Make no mistake, this operation is 99% legit.. it's just much smaller than your normal size gold mine. Its fully functioning.. and the tests, trials and perils of running a mine-site are the same whether its full sized or miniature. Yes, our machines are small, but our bills are all the same size as everyone else. Thankfully, we have had LilGiantsConstCo drive in from Saskatchewan to join the team. We have been been missing a crew member Sluicebox Steve for over a month, and no one has seen him. Now, we have a FULL CREW! Apparently, Joe, the owner of LilGiants, is an excellent operator (or so I've heard), and his skills will be put to the test today. Will he be able to handle it?! Time will tell.

Golden Forest in Canada
Living in Canada is awesome for several reasons. One of those reasons is autumn. In Canada, we are lucky to have all four seasons, and fall/autumn is my favourite of them all. Siya and I decided to enjoy this short but beautiful time of year by going on a hike in Ontario with our Manfrotto BeFreeLive Tripod. Manfrotto sent us this tripod to use on our travels and we can honestly say it passes the awesome test in our books. We have been travelling with it for the past 3 months, and have been really happy with it. It definitely kicks our last tripods ass! My favourite features of the BeFreeLive is the very nice fluid head (great for pans and tilts) and how small it folds up (great for travelling).

In June 2016, three Poles (me, my girlfriend Marta and my colleague Paweł) went for a 3-week trip to Canada. We had a great time enjoying the nature, participating in numerous summer activities and visiting my family. Our adventure began in Vancouver and continued in Kelowna, Golden, Banff National Park, Jasper National Park, Wells Grey Provincial Park, Osoyoos, Victoria to finally reach its final in Ucluelet (Vancouver Island). This video shows only a short sneak peek of the all adventures that we had during our journey. I hope you like it.

Then we leave for the Fairmont Hotel next to Lake Louise at the crack of 12:09 before making our way to Lake Moraine. We get up close with a bear & caribou on the Bow Valley Parkway. Boots are back on the ground as we finally we got the letter from the Office of the Safety Inspector, and we were shocked to find out that we had been duped by a high school kid. I'm surprised, because technically.. he IS a Minor. Regardless..we can discard all the stupid stuff he made us do and we can focus on washing dirt and getting GOLD. Last time we were on the mine site, the Inspector had shut us down before we could even do a proper clean out. Today - we are able to clean out first, and then dig again for a Double Whammy at the end! But.. it seems that every turn we take today leads into trouble of some sort. Fraught with Mechanical issues, Team Issues, and worst of All.. Weather Issues.. Todays Gold Grab may not go down as planned.. but we will persevere to bring you all the best show we can.

For 26 weeks we have been battling the elements and washing dirt come Rain, Hail, Sun and Snow! YouTube GOLD has happened no matter what and the payoff is about to come to fruition! Our original goal this season was 3/4 of a Troy Ounce.. which is 22 grams. Today, we sit at 122 grams.. PLUS WHATEVER WE MINE TODAY! I think there is more than enough to ask the guys.. if there was enough for someone very special in our group. Krazy Joe is one of our longest running actors on RC ADVENTURES, a Brother, and a Viewer favourite!
For Months we have all joked about Krazy Joe getting his GOLD TOOTH from all the YouTube GOLD we gathered, and with the boys all agreeing that this was the right way to go - I found a very good dentist named Dr Sean Freiberg at Health First Dental, in Calgary Alberta, Canada. Dr Freiberg is an excellent Dentist who has a thriving practice built on years of trust and high-end dentistry. Dr Freiberg has a LOT of experience taking a fractured smile and making it bling!

YouTube GOLD - MAN DOWN!! Rescue Mission at the GOLD MINE (s2 e24) | RC ADVENTURES
We finally have a FULL CREW onsite, and the weather is on our side. Late into the season the sun is finally fully shining, but the shadows are long - and the gold is glinting in the sluice box's. The Clear-Cut is being ravaged by Krazy Joe and the guys.. and the pay is getting moved quicker than we ever could have imagined. This is excellent as the leaves are turning and the cold weather is inbound. We are in Canada, 3800ft above sea-level. This is no joke, and it gets cold here very quickly. We must move on this good weather to get the Clear-Cut emptied of the overburden and stripped of its gold rich pay layer. But of course, this is YOUTUBE GOLD BABY.. and debauchery is in the air.. a series of accidents may end the season early for the prairie boys. Hopefully it doesn't shut down the mine permanently, and good fortune will be bestowed upon the crew one more time..

#youtubegold is a 100% canadian #parody of the popular Gold Shows we see on TV such as #goldrush, Yukon Gold (Canadian) and others.. Yes, we are mining real gold.. and yes, we are full grown men using tiny machines to mine the gold. We are currently in the Second Season, and this is episode 24.
There is irony in all of what you see..is most of this show is all choreographed. THiS IS THE INTERNET.. Do not believe everything you see..! heh...
Almost all scenarios are staged, acting out our characters, comedy.. etc.. In fact, we are not even working for efficiency, as we are a group of hobbyists who are more interested in entertaining our audience.. than actually getting gold. Being an RC show, we use as many RC's as possible to achieve this. Again, all we are doing is goofing off for a good Saturday of fun.
A few of the things that are not staged is our friendship, the laughter, camaraderie, and of course.. THE GOLD! (Yes, it's real pay dirt). The true Gold is the experience we get as friends, what we hope the viewers get watching a group of goofballs entertain them with some very cool toys. One mans hobby, is another's entertainment on YouTube!

YouTube GOLD - GREENHORNS & Dreams : Mini Wash Plant Assembly THE SHAKER (s1 e1) | RC ADVENTURES
Welcome to #YouTubeGold. This is a new parody / spinoff series that celebrates the great technological advances of Radio Control vehicles - and the excitement of running a Gold Mine. For years I have been a viewer of shows such as #Yukon Gold, #Gold Rush, Bering Sea Gold and other Discovery Network / History Channel shows that have to do with mining. I have dabbled in both hobbies and have already filmed previous gold mining videos here on my channel over the years. But in 2018, I think it is time to step up my game and expand a family run business. I was thinking about starting small... Real small. In fact, 1/14th in scale.
I have been saving up for new Radio Controlled (RC) mining equipment, and already have a slew of older equipment which you will see in this film. The new stuff is finally starting to arrive - and is my list of new, hand picked equipment is promised to leave you amazed and astounded at what is available in the hobby world. I would like to mention, I live in Canada. My mining season is short.. but should be fun for a rookie.
First on my list to assemble is the new Shaker (soon to be WASH) Plant. After purchasing on the website this model was shipped to me from Vietnam, where I assume these models are made. I do not have much information on the unit maker, but this is the website I got it from:

The shipping was within 2 weeks for me and my shaker came already 1/2 assembled, and in a wooden crate. Everything is in tact, and working as promised! I believe this unit is hand made, as you can see different imperfections in the model.. but nothing that is detrimental to the unit. It is VERY nice.. and the subtle hand made touches make this soon-to-be wash plant a very nice trophy piece for any gold catching crew! Since it is made out of sheet metal.. I know the edges will start to rust.. and I am SO EXCiTED for that! It will look amazing.. but until then, I will have to settle with a great power coat white. I'm not sure why it has the word Trommel on it.. and wonder if it is a translation mistake. The website lists it as a Shaker.
First I assemble the shaker, then its time to take it outdoors to test it out.. Tell me in the comment section.. what do you think?!

Next.. we get into whats in the BOX! The box, I showed in the film you are watching now.. In the mean time I will work on a water system for my Shaker and Sluice Box. A simple PVC Setup with some jets, hooked into a pump should work great for washing the rocks we pull from future creek beds with the excavator.

Golden Ears Provincial Park - RV Life back in British Columbia
Camping at Golden Ears Provincial Park, and hiking to Gold Creek Falls. This is one of British Columbia's BIGGEST camping areas! RV Life back in British Columbia means a whole lot more camping. Enjoy the RV Vlog!
Hello and welcome back! It's another rainy one as we settle in for two nights camping at one of BC's most known camping spots, Golden Ears Park. We wanted to get out of the city after the RV show and what better way than a throwback to where we first camped with our Class C RV after the USA border denial vlog last year. Happier times this time! Haha.
This campground has many different little locations around, but for nearing off season we had access to the Gold Creek Campground. They don't provide RV hookup options, and it was a pretty expensive stay for not having them but at least it's beautiful. The old cedar forests made for such a cool feel being completely engulfed in trees. We even busted out the RV barbeque and got to enjoy cooking outside. We haven't don't that enough in these RV travels, but hopefully more to come while camping BC now. Cat also loved the site and exploring around the cedars and all the forest vegetation she wasn't used to.
The campground has lots of hiking trails options, and we chose to do the one to Gold Creek Falls. It was an easy level hike and made for a great outing to enjoy the Pacific coast forests. Very humid and wet out of course! The waterfall was an alright waterfall but the whole trip was still an awesome reason to get out. When we were back at the RV later after the hike Alysha was making dinner and raccoons were checking out our Class C RV too haha. They were so mischievous looking, and ran away when I yelled at them which I found hilarious. The next morning we checked out and just went to the Aloutte Lake day use spot to enjoy the nice weather and beautiful Golden Ears area more. We even found some funny Canadian Loons, haha.
Being back to RV BC is going to mean a whole lot more awesome campsites coming up everyone! BC is known for its awesome recreation, and free a lot of the time campsites. Barnes lake we just enjoyed after Golden Ears was so nice and quiet. I love the Midwest vibes out that way. British Columbia can be so diverse as you will soon see!

LOADING WARS - GAMESHOW: A TEST of DRIVING SKILL (s3 e5) | RC ADVENTURES
HOW MANY TRUCKS can we involve in LOADING WARS?! As many as it takes to provide our viewers with an amazing, unique .. and never seen before game that we made up out of complete boredom! We are a bunch of enthusiasts that love big rigs and the hobby of building and using cool machines, in simple competitions. We came up with an idea to make a warehouse.. where safety is our last priority. We make up rules for each round.. but have a core set of rules we follow to the best of our abilities. EVERETT squares off AGAINST ROOKIE!
Here are the foundational rules:
1) DO NOT have ANY part of your Truck or Trailer Cross over ANY LINE, other than the Start/Finish. IF the CAMERA see's you cross over.. the judge will call a PENALTY
2) DO NOT Lose any Cargo off of the pallets, or pallet Racks. This includes Before and After the pallets are on the Semi Trucks/Trailers. If you Do, it's a PENALTY.
3) No Bystander can COACH or give helpful tips or tricks to the competitors. If they do, the competitor that the help was offered to - WILL GET A PENALTY. Encouragement is allowed, and stating the RULES. If a statement about a rule is manipulated to seem like coaching to the other Judges, it will be RULED A PENALTY
4) If you are In a Penalty, and the other Player Also gets a Penalty.. the Original Player will now be Free to Go Back to Work!
5) If a Player in a Penalty, causes ANOTHER penalty, then they will be reset at the start of the Penalty.
6) If a Player in a Penalty attempts the Penalty 3 Different times and Fails - then they can Go Back To Work. These must be deemed legitimate efforts by the Penalty Judge
7) IF YOU Hit the DOCK Supervisor, and KNOCK HIM OVER - You are FIRED - AKA - Disqualified!
8) You ARE ALLOWED to MESS with your Opponent and take advantage of LOOP HOLES in the RULES. You are NOT allowed to mess with a Player if they have a Pallet Loaded on their Forklift. If Both Forklifts are empty its FAIR GAME. If BOTH Forklifts have a PALLET loaded - FAIR GAME, and an attack can occur.
9) You are ALLOWED to REMOVE Pallets from a Competitors Trailer, if the Trailer is Docked. You can NOT USE THEM towards YOUR Trailer Pallet count.
10) First One to Leave the Yard with SEMI and TRAILER - Successfully .. WINS! You Must have your Forklift PARKED on the ORANGE X, with FORKS DOWN before you Leave the DOCK, or it's a PENALTY.

The WORLD has gone MAD! How are we supposed to work in conditions like this. It is -2 degrees Celsius, and even though we want to stay toasty in our warm shop.. bills have to be paid.. and the beer has to be consumed. This gold isn't going to mine itself! Showing true Canadian value.. we slug it out as the weather continues to get worse. Who would have thought that in May.. it would be getting colder, and colder! It's extremely hard on our equipment.. and there are bound to be some failures. I hope we can make it through today..
