An Edwardian Garden In England
This was a popular design in Edwardian times for a long narrow plot. Over the years the layout of the garden was altered by various owners. It has been a labour of love for me working with the present owners restoring the garden to it's original layout. Now, in advancing years, we have begun a plan to plant up many areas to reduce the high maintenance that the large garden requires and yet keep it's original Edwardian design and charm.
Aysgarth Falls,Yorkshire Dales
Aysgarth Falls are a triple flight of waterfalls, surrounded by forest and farmland, carved out by the River Ure over an almost one-mile stretch on its descent to mid-Wensleydale in the Yorkshire Dales of England, near the village of Aysgarth. The falls are quite spectacular during wet weather, as thousands of gallons of water cascade over the series of broad limestone steps which are divided into three stages; Upper Force, Middle Force and Lower Force.
Aysgarth Falls have attracted visitors for over 200 years; Ruskin, Turner and Wordsworth visited, all enthusing about the falls outstanding beauty. The upper and middle fall was featured in the film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.

Turner and Ruskin have painted the falls and they were even the setting for a fight scene in the Hollywood film Robin Hood -- Prince of Thieves. The walk takes in Middle and then Lower falls before heading out past Hollins house where you get a view of Castle Bolton. The return is via St Josephs and Freeholders' woods before passing back through the car park before visiting the Upper Falls.
