Goa: BJP organised massive rally to support CAA in Panaji

The state BJP organised a massive rally to support the Citizenship Amendment Act in Panaji. Thousands of residents along with BJP workers participated in the mega rally to show their solidarity with the Centre in implementing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). BJP’s national working president JP Nadda addressed the public meeting at Azad maidan where Goa CM Pramod Sawant, Union Ayush Minister, Shripad Naik and others were also present. Ever since CAA has been cleared by the Parliament, several states saw protests against it including Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Delhi, to name a few.

Azad Maidan is a martyrs' monument in the Indian state of Panaji, Goa. It is located opposite the Goa Police headquarters on MG Road, Panaji.

This church is World Heritage Monument, was completed in 1605, it has the Relics of St. Francis Xavier. In the Church Complex you will also see a Archaeological Museum, in which several Historical Goan related Items kept safe, Photography & Videography was not allowed in this complex.

4. Ritz Classic Restaurant & Bar : In my opinion this is the best place to enjoy Goan food in Panajim, North Goa

Run For Unity Azad Maidan, Panaji Goa

RUN FOR UNITY will be organized across India on 15th December, 2013, the 63rd Punyatithi of Sardar Patel.

It will be the curtain raiser to the Statue of Unity Movement. This unprecedented event will witness more than 10 lakh people running simultaneously across 565+ locations in India covering all the major cities/towns.

This historic run will unite the country in paying a fitting tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, who integrated 565 princely states with independent India.

Apart from a 2 km run, there is a 2 km Unity Walk so that families / senior citizens can also participate.

HUNGER STRIKE AT AZAD MAIDAN ON OCT 5: GMPF _Prudent Media Goa

Goa Mining People’s Front has called off its scheduled Goa bandh on 3rd October. However, they have stated that around 3000 dependants will hold hunger strike at Azad maidan on 5th October. Front has stated that government is positive about restarting mining in Goa and Congress has also assured to support the cause in Parliament. Front has also warned to agitate at Jantar Mantar-Delhi if government fails to propose amendment bill in Parliament winter session.

Five private sector bank employees are holding demonstration all over India to protest against Government’s decision to merge banks. This strike has been called by All India Bank Employees Association. Goa Bank Employees Association also held protest at Azad Maidan-Panaji in support of the call. This strike on the face of festive season is said to have effect on market. However, SBI has not taken part in the strike.
