Iwaki Yumoto Hot Spring has been loved as one of the three ancient springs along with Dogo Hot Spring and Arima Hot Spring for over 1300 years. Iwaki Yumoto has also an amusement facility called Spa Resort Hawaiians, where Japan’s first Hula Girls began their performance. The place is famous as a Hawaii of Tohoku area.
This Promotion Video (PV) is produced by New Generation Assistant (NGA) student members of Iwaki Meisei University. This PV tries to introduce this tourist site, Iwaki Yumoto town to you with a more relaxed and local viewpoint. We will focus on various spots around JR Yumoto Station.

Iwaki Meisei University received an offer to make this PV from the Hotel Business Liaison Council & Iwaki Chamber of Commerce Industry. Then, the volunteer group members of NGA launched a project team named IMU Iwaki Activation Team to make PVs about Iwaki city. With a supervising editor, Mr. Hidemi Takahagi, a professional of video production from ifeels Inc, it took five months to complete this project. Totally, five PVs with five respective themes, “Night Views,” “Mountains,” “Sea”, “Hot Spring” and “Gourmet” were made.

Visit to the Daio Wasabi Farm in Azumino Japan.
April 2014 - We visited the largest Wasabi Farm in the world. It is located in the middle of Japan near Matsumoto city. Wasabi will only grow in crystal clear moving water and it naturally grows along side river beds. So they divert the river and plant it in the gravel to filter the water. It was really interesting and beautiful place. We at Wasabi ice cream, wasabi pickles, wasabi tempura. Here in the USA, we think of Wasabi as a paste. But that is wasabi imitation made from corn starch and horseradish powder and died green. Real wasabi root is grounded into a paste. But here they ate the tops too and it tasted like any other vegetable.

Labour Thanksgiving Day (November 23)
This video is about Japanese Traditional Craftsmanship and Kitchenware.
Last week Friday we had Labour Thanksgiving Day (November 23). The original name is niiname-sai harvest festival. It was a Friday and we left already on Thursday mid day because we feared driving through Tokyo Thursday evening might be too much.
My husband is deeply connected with his family and whenever we can, we will visit his family in Echigo-Yuzawa. So we went there and as usual had a great time. From there we took a day trip to Tsubame Sanjo. It took us approx. 1.5 hours with the car.
Tsubame Sanjo is famous for Japanese Traditional Craftsmanship, especially Metal and Kitchenware.
So this video is basically a window shopping guide to this area and if you do not have the chance to go to Niigata, at least you can see what they have. Or if you want to go to Niigata, you get an idea from this video to visit this place.
Maybe a travel idea.

Azumino, known as one of the most beautiful places in Japan, is located in the center of Nagano Prefecture. It’s a four-hour bus ride from Shinjuku, Tokyo. The best way to enjoy this comfortable small town is… cycling.

The Path of Wildness is an answer and response to a prescribed way of life which may leave some individuals with a sense that their living is little more than a series of pre-determined, step-like episodes between birth and death. The stages of living between these events: childhood, adolescence, adulthood, parenthood and senior are themselves natural and in accord with the needs of the species and most individuals. Many find their satisfaction in living this course and to these individuals I have little or nothing to say. Others though long for something more; something innate, genetic and seemingly calling. Adventure and change can give a degree of satisfaction and relief yet even these may seem too tame. To those who feel drawn to something beyond the entertainment and stimulation of senses I offer a walk along The Path of Wildness. Don't bother penciling the event in your schedule, preparing a pack with goodies and supplies or even inviting a friend along, for this experience is along the course of your first inclination and you must surely always go alone.

We left Yamanashi Prefecture and headed to Nagano Prefecture where we visited Sinano Winery, had a soba lunch, visited the amazing Daio Wasabi Farm & met the Wasabi Master, finished up with the Azumino Winery before dinner at a Japanese/Italian restaurant and a stay at Hotel JAL City Nagano.

We wanted to escape the busy centre of Tokyo and so we visited Showa Kinen Park for a day of peace and quiet. This park is huge and feels like you are in the countryside but it is only a short ride away from the city. So perfect if you want to escape for a day.
The park has multiple distinctive areas from Japanese and Western gardens, flower beds, lakes, ponds, hills and even a small village and traditional farm. The park is known for the various flower blooms over the year.
It was easy to rent bikes for the day within the park and there were dedicated cycling paths to explore. There are also row and pedal boats to rent, children's play areas and cafes and restaurants (with good ice cream!).
The park is easy to reach from Shinjuku Station using the JR Chuo line, with Nishi-Tachikawa Station located just outside. There is a small fee to enter the park and we bought our tickets from the automated machines by the entrance.

Wasabi Farm Hotaka Town Azumino city Nagano Japan
19 july 2009, ke wasabi farm ( hotaka town, azumino city ). Naik kereta dari matsumoto sekitar 300 yen lebih. Terus di depan eki, ada penyewaan sepeda, 200 yen perjam. Karena jarak dari eki ke farm jauh juga kalo jalan kaki, akhirnya ngerental sepeda, dipake 3 jam, sudah bisa keliling - keliling di hotaka city. Masuk wasabi farm sendiri gak bayar. Pemandangan yang bagus disini ya yang kincir air. Terus perjalalan pulang ngelewatin samping sungai, dan masih sempet ke jinja - jinja samping eki. Kalo ngeliat peta sih banyak tempat wisata disini. Tapi cuaca gak mendukung, hujan hujanan naik sepeda. Naik sepeda juga enggak jago, sambil megang kamera lagi....
The Daiō WASABI Farm//NAGANO
The Daiō Wasabi Farm (大王わさび農場 Daiō Wasabi Nōjō) is a wasabi farm established in 1915 and located in Azumino, Nagano Prefecture near the center of Honshū, the main island of Japan. It is a popular tourist spot due to its watermills and for the river that runs through it.
A restaurant offers wasabi-flavoured ice cream and other wasabi-themed products.
Outside Japan, the site is best known for its appearance in the 1990 film Dreams by director Akira Kurosawa in the segment called Village of the Watermills.
Daiō is one of Japan's largest farms—and its largest wasabi farm—covering 15 hectares.
