Caravan Farm Theatre presents its Annual Walk of Terror, the ORIGINAL Okanagan Halloween Theatrical Extravaganza. Take the walk -- if you dare! -- between 6:30 and 8 pm, then dance the night away. Part Burning Man, part Nuit Blanche, part Day of the Dead processional, The Walk of Terror is where the line between artist and audience is most blurred.
4. Historic O’Keefe Ranch (through October)
The Historic O’Keefe Ranch hosts Family Daze in the Corn Maze on weekends in October, with a spooky corn maze as well as pony rides, old fashioned candy and activities. In the evenings starting on Friday the 13th, the Ranch hosts the largest fundraising event of the year; Field of Screams. The haunted corn maze theme is Dante’s Inferno; The Descent, and it’s not for the faint of heart.
5. Body and Soul Wellness Fair (October 28th – 29th and November 4th – 5th)
The Penticton and Kelowna Wellness Fairs each feature 70 Exhibitors from the Health and Wellness Industry. There will be a huge variety of exhibitors, from chiropractors to essential oils, massage, fermentation, counselors, organic skincare products and much more! Free Admission, prizes and Welcome Bags.
6. Davison Orchard (through October)
Need a Pumpkin for your Spooky Holiday? Come find the perfect one at Davison Orchard. With Family Pumpkin Harvest Tours every Tuesday in October and a Family Pumpkin Festival every weekend, there’s no doubt you’ll find the perfect pumpkin – you might even call him Jack.
7. The Salmon Arm Arts Centre presents Kanata (October 7th – November 10th)
Kanata refers to the misinterpretation of the original word that we now know as Canada. Kanata will hold space for First Nations artists working in this area to showcase how they are exploring and making new understandings of Canada and its relations. Curated by Splatsin artist Aaron Leon, the exhibition will feature works by Dion Kaszas, Tania Willard, David Wilson and Mary Thomas.
8. The Shuswap Wine Festival (October 21st)
Since 2003, the Rotary Club of Salmon Arm has hosted the Shuswap Wine Festival. This celebration of wine and food has brought community together to raise major funds for local charities and projects. Your ticket includes everything – all tastings and all the wonderful appies.
9. Spooktacular at the R.J. Haney Heritage Village and Museum (October 21st and 22nd)
Experience things going bump in the night! It’s that time of the year to pull on your scariest costume and explore the spooky side of R.J. Haney Heritage Village. With the terrifying spook trail and haunted house, there will be menacing creatures around every dark corner. For the little spooks, enjoy the Story Book Trail, the Coloring Room and more.
10. An Evening with Hey Ocean! at Habitat (October 12th)
Ashleigh Ball, David Beckingham and David Vertesi have created a musical repertoire that cannot be ignored. Aside from the skillful delivery of their music, what sets Hey Ocean! apart is the spirited character they bring to the stage. What began as a very casual musical partnership between friends has, in less than five years, morphed into one of Canada’s most successful independent bands.
