Krampus Night in Bloomington 2012
There might be fewer naughty children in Bloomington, Indiana after the Krampus parade on the B-Line Trail December 8, 2012. The group responsible for bringing these hairy, horned beasts of Alpine tradition to Bloomington is the Krampus Legend and Arts Workshop (KLAW). The dark companion of St. Nicholas, Krampus punish bad children by giving them nightmares or taking away their presents. St. Nick can make the creatures disappear, but only after the naughty children begin behaving.
Angels dressed in white handed out stickers labeled Naughty and Nice. Wear a nice sticker and St Nicholas or an angel may give you candy. Naughty children and adults can taunt the Krampus and endure small torments as the Krampus pass by.
Krampus are here to remind children (and adults) about the importance of being good and the fear of behaving badly.

BLOOMINGTON, INDIANA WEEKEND ROAD TRIP FROM CHICAGO | TRAVEL VLOG & SCAVENGER HUNT
This month, I was so excited to partner with Visit Bloomington to showcase the city of Bloomington, IN - home of my alma mater Indiana University - by taking a fun weekend getaway from Chicago.
In this video, my husband and I hit the road after work on a Friday in mid-May, and journeyed four hours south (okay, five hours because of Friday traffic) to the city where we met as college freshmen.
As always, a return to Bloomington is a trip down memory lane. The city has changed and blossomed so much since we met there in 2006, and it’s exciting to see its growth every time we return!
For this particular adventure, we got to follow a scavenger hunt list of quintessentially fun Bloomington hotspots, courtesy of my partnership with Visit Bloomington. As part of our enthusiasm for B-town, we aimed to visit as many as possible over our two day trip!
I hope this video provides an entertaining overview of the variety of fun destinations and activities in Bloomington, and entices you to consider it for an easy weekend getaway!

Indiana Newsdesk, January 20, 2017 Bloomington & Tattoo Exhibit
More News: Indiana Newsdesk
Bloomington’s growing population means the city’s landscape is constantly changing. Where will people live? Where will they work and how will the city keep its college town charm? Any of those questions can create a divisive debate. Coming up how a comprehensive plan that’s in development will provide a road map for land use and development in the city.
Plus the governor delivered his first state of the state address. But he’s drawing criticism from both parties – not for something he said, but for what he didn’t say. We’ll explain coming up.
Indiana has a colorful tattoo history including Navy sailors, bikers, prison inmates… and of course, Roy Boy Cooper. Celebrities were among those who flocked to Gary Indiana to be tattooed even during a time when it was illegal. Coming up we tour an exhibit on the state’s tattooing legacy.
Those stories plus the latest headlines from across the state Friday at 6 p.m. on Indiana Newsdesk.
