An attractive campsite right by the beach not far north of Geraldton. (Strong wind meant the drone footage wasn't as good as hoped.)

The road to Geraldton ????⛺️????
We left Sandy Cape, travelled through Leeman and stopped at a free camp⛺️ called ‘freshwater north’ for the night. It was just south of Cliff head. After quickly walking the track, we found a nice site to setup at, and a game plan on how to turn the car & van around - as it was quite a narrow track????. The water was quite warm and inviting, so we had a lovely afternoon dip. It would of been rude not to, with this place as our front yard????????♂️????????♀️ (see photos). We enjoyed a peaceful night here before continuing on the next day.
Port Denison and Dongra, looked like lovely towns as we drove through. We made it to Greenough, and checked out the old convict???? bridge. It reminded us of the old spikey bridge we saw in Tassie. We viewed the old historic settlement from the carpark, before heading out to Ellendale Pool????. We had every intention of camping here, but it was just too cold. We admired the pool from the shore and grabbed some pictures. It reminded☺️ us of the Kimberleys with the colours and landscape.
It was a tough call, but we made the decision to head into Geraldton and have some KFC for a late lunch????. Not before grabbing a few snaps with then leaning trees of Greenough. Really shows how strong the winds???? are, for these tree’s to actually grow sideways.
We arrived in Geraldton, and was able to nab one of the last spots in the free 24hr rest stop in town. The best part of this camp spot is it is right across from KFC - how convenient ????. We walked around town and along the foreshore. Geraldton was quite a nice town. As you can only stay 24hrs and we had to wait for a parcel to come to the post office????, we decided to head up the road and camp at Oakabella Homestead, for a night.
A great place for an overnighter with plenty to do. We walked around the homestead checking out the old buildings and stables. The communal campfire???? they put on each night was great. Plenty of chats and laughs had, while listening to the brave souls do karaoke????.
We returned back to Geraldton 24hr RV camp for another night and luckily our parcel arrived the next day????????. We walked around more of the town and grabbed some photos of with some of the street art???? pieces.
On our way out of town we checked out the St Francis Xavier Cathedral and visited the HMAS Sydney II memorial. Well thanks Geraldton, we’re all stocked up and ready for our next leg into Kalbarri! ????????????????????????

GERALDTON MUSEUM PART 1 OF 2 WA WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Caravan Trip 2007ldton is a city and port in Western Australia located 424 kilometres (263 mi) north of Perth. According to the 2001 census, Geraldton has a population of 29,996, making it the fifth-largest city in Western Australia. Today the city is an important centre for mining, fishing, wheat, sheep and tourism. History Though many European maritime explorers encountered or were even wrecked on the Houtman Abrolhos islands 60 kilometres (37 mi) west of Geraldton in the 17th and 18th centuries, there seems to be no evidence that any made landfall near the site of the current town. The first European to explore the area was George Grey in 1839. A decade later the explorer Augustus Gregory travelled through the area. He discovered lead on the Murchison River and the mine which was subsequently established was named Geraldine after the Governor Charles Fitzgerald. The town of Geraldton was gazetted in 1850. [edit] Attractions The construction of the St Francis Xavier Catholic Cathedral started in 1916 but was not completed until 1938. The cathedral was designed by Monsignor John Hawes who was both an architect and a priest. The lighthouse located on Point Moore was recently repainted and established as another cultural attraction of Geraldton. Geraldton's public high school, John Willcock College is famous for having been attended by Ernie Dingo. Also recently the school became the first in Australia to have a laptop programme with all students being provided with Apple Notebook Computers for study purposes. Memorial to HMAS SydneyHMAS Sydney was lost off the coast north west of Geraldton and there is a memorial overlooking the city. After years of searching, the wreck of HMAS Sydney was discovered north of Geraldton, 150 kilometres (81 nmi) from Shark Bay on March 16, 2008. A popular past time of Geraldton Locals is surfing. The Geraldton Boardriders Association runs surf events throughout the year and Surf2skool, Geraldton's only surf school offers developing surfers lessons, trips and coaching. Popular surf spots include Flat Rocks, Back Beach, Greenough, Glenfield, and Sunset Beach. Geraldton is also an internationally renowned windsurfing location.«

Could these be the most Underrated beaches in World? (Fremantle & Rottnest Island, Australia)
Thanks to FlightCentre New Zealand, Tourism Western Australia and Air New Zealand. I found myself on a direct flight from Auckland to Perth. I spend 5 days on this journey to Western Australia, travelling between Perth and Fremantle.
Fremantle township has so many histories, full of characters and great eateries/Breweries. I can almost see myself moving here.
I have seen some amazing beaches in the world (Bali, Hawaii, Fiji, Rio de Janeiro, Caribbean islands & Zanzibar) Beaches on Rottnest Island seem to be right up there against those well-known beaches. I was very impressed by the cleanliness, the number of people (a few or no crowds at all) & the gin clear water.
Check out part 1 of my first visit to Western Australia and see if you agree with me.
