Docking in PORT CHALMERS (DUNEDIN) l New Zealand Cruise Vlog l Ep. 8
It's a new day which means we are in Port Chalmers (Dunedin). As you can see in this video, this port is a mix of industrial with some things within walking distance. However, there is really nothing to do in Port Chalmers which you'll see in a vlog or two. If you are not planning on doing a shore excursion here, consider taking a shuttle bus to Dunedin that your cruise line will most likely offer for around $15-$20 USD. Dunedin has more of a downtown area with lots of shops and cafes.
The tour I did today is called, NATURE’S WONDERS WILDLIFE SAFARI. I booked it through Norwegian Cruise Line though most cruise lines offer this tour. Here is the tour description from NCL's website:
“A scenic drive takes you past the charming towns of Sawyer's Bay, Roseneath and St. Leonard's, which all rest along the shores of beautiful Otago Harbor. Your drive then continues along the craggy coastline to Natures Wonders, located just beyond Taiaroa Head.
Arriving at the Center's Reception area, you'll board an 8-wheel drive vehicle (Argo), built specifically to take you places that are normally inaccessible, or a mini coach, to start your tour of the farm. You will swap vehicles half way through the tour.
The Otago Peninsula headland is arguably the most precious wildlife habitat in New Zealand and the farm owned by the Reid family is right on the forefront of this headland. Here, amidst truly spectacular scenery, the world's rarest penguins, the yellow-eyed Hoiho, the little blue penguins, the New Zealand fur seals, and the Spotted Shags all live in harmony.
Stop by the mythical Maui's Footprint location which offers breathtaking panoramic views over the Otago Peninsula. Descending from a height of 620 feet above sea level, you’ll stop at a breeding colony of Cormorants, also Spotted Shag, found nestled on a rugged cliff face that rises directly above the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean.
You’ll find a breeding colony of New Zealand Fur seals. It's a definite treat to watch them in their natural habitat, basking on the rocks and swimming in the pools. A beachfront ride will then bring you to Penguin Beach, where you'll be able to view little blue penguins in their nests, and if you are lucky, perhaps spot some very rare and shy yellow-eyed penguins.
Your route also ascends from the beach to the highest point on the farm. At 659 feet above sea level, this spot affords an absolutely amazing 360-degree view of this awesome peninsula and its remarkable natural setting.
Back in Dunedin, you’ll have a brief tour of some of the city's highlights before returning to the pier.”
As always, make sure to watch in HD for the best video quality! Hope you enjoy! :)

SOUTHLAND NZ ROADTRIP: The Catlins & Invercargill
Our two day road trip to the Southland of NZ. It had a lot to offer we felt we needed to go back again. It was me and Rogin's first time to go there and would like to go back again to explore the rest of Southland especially The Catlins. On our way back we watched Ed Sheeran's concert in Dunedin and we did a quick tour around the city and Larnach Castle before we headed back to Christchurch. This was last autumn in NZ, only managed to edit our videos this time because I needed to clear my storage space ????.

Yellow-Eyed Penguins at Penguin Place Dunedin New Zealand
About a half hour drive from Dunedin is New Zealands Yellow-eyed Penguin Conservation Reserve. Mr Howard McGrouther established the reserve in 1985. He now provides guided tours through a series of covered trenches and observation huts where the penguins can be observed emerging from the sea and resting in their native habitat. This conservation project is a multi-Award Winner and is entirely financed through these guided tours.

A Passengers View with Dunedin Railways Seasider excursion train (New Zealand)
Join me for a ride around New Zealand’s South Island coast from Dunedin to Waitati with magnificent views over Blueskin Bay and Otago Harbour. Imagine sitting in a train where the views from the windows rival paintings by the very best of the best, a place where Mother Nature has created some of her most breath-taking beauty, all this can be enjoyed from a comfortable seat in the “Silver Fern” train with a coffee and a snack.
Breathtaking Tunnel Beach For The First Time 4k Drone - Dunedin New Zealand
Here is how to / how I travel through New Zealand. Things I've never seen that will make you want to travel. Pay zero dollars for the things you need to know in the world. Time is valuable so follow me as I blissfully spotlight the wonderful dangers of this absolutely attractive awesome beautiful country.
Getting down this hill was a stroll, hiking back up... I needed to be in a stroller. Very cool destination. First beach I've ever been to that has its own tunnel in the rock to get down to the water. From there you have sea level views of the giant rock formations and realize how small we are in this world.
