Badger Weir Picnic Area is the perfect place to enjoy a picnic or barbecue. There's nothing like filling your lungs with fresh mountain air. There are a number of forest walks to choose from. Stroll through ancient fern gullies, across clear mountain streams and amongst mighty Mountain Ash. This is one of the special places in the Yarra Valley. Badger Weir Healesville
Badger Weir is a delightful, popular and convenient meeting place for families, barbecue's, and a fun time for the whole family.
The barbecue's are freshly stocked every week with firewood, so you can bring your meats and cook them off nicely.
Theres also a nicely grassed area where the kids can safely run around. Keep an eye on them though, as the creek is not fenced in some areas.
Its also a great place for Car Clubs to meet, and show off their cars to each other and an admiring public. The relative isolation of Badger Weir makes for excellent photographic opportunities. The contrast of a smart sports car in the beauty of Badger Weir is worth the drive.
Theres also a love loop track. The track can be conquered with a slow amble in about an hour, which includes time to stop and compose photographs. There are some steps so a complete loop with a wheel chair is out of the question. But there are some lovely spots to stop and day dream for a while. So make some time and enjoy some slow time is this most beautiful place.

Taste elicits such powerful memories and after sampling gelAperia Gelato is easy to see why visitors keep coming back.

Best of all this locally made product, is made fresh and sold by people who can tell the customer all about it and its inspiration. You can watch them make it as you eat it, or even take part in one of their Gelato workshops.

Fun at Healesville
Healesville is about an hour drive from Melbourne's CBD.
Easter break was well spent here at the sanctuary and a fun maze called Hedgend. The sanctuary showcases Australian animals. Kangaroos, Koalas, Emu, Wallabies are a few among the large collection.
