Eyesore or wonderful vantage point for viewing the Bagan Archaeological Zone? That was the question I wanted to answer about the Nan Myint Tower, or the Bagan Viewing Tower. I had a bit of a struggle finding my way there, which seems odd considering it was supposed to be an imposing tower dominating the landscape. But I did eventually find it, and I was able to make up my own mind about whether this tower was an ugly blot on the scenery or a stunning attraction or something in between.

BAGAN VIEWING TOWER (NAN MYINT TOWER) 360 VIEWS OF BAGAN TEMPLES.
The Bagan Viewing Tower (Nan Myint Tower) is the best spot to get a 360 degree, birds eye view of the temples in Bagan. Since you can’t climb on the temples anymore, this is the best spot to come to get a view of the hot air balloons over the temples in Bagan.

Explore Bagan - Myanmar day 1
Follow Us as we share with you the things we did on the first day when we arrived in Bagan. Our adventure was off to a rather eventful start. With the sheer ignorance that Thingyan or Water Festival in conjunction with the Myanmar New Year was yet to be over, we rented a scooter only to U-turn back to the hotel to exchange for a hired car with driver. This was after we got ourselves and some of our equipment “blessed”. Hehe…
After a change of clothing and some waterproofing procedures for our equipment, we headed out again in the comfort of an air-conditioned car with a very helpful and friendly driver. He used to work in Malaysia for a couple of years, therefore communication was not an issue since Jim could speak Bahasa Melayu! He was nice enough to help us bargain for better prices when we were buying souvenirs at some of the shops along the way!
Our first day in Bagan was action-packed! We visited 2 local restaurants for lunch and dinner. In between our meals, we swung by an elephant camp to feed the elephants. It was unfortunate that we have missed the hot air balloon season. However, we managed to have a good vantage point of Old Bagan from a newly constructed viewing tower! We visited 3 temples within the day, with one of these offering a very stunning sunset, the mesmerising sight which we absolutely fell in love with. While preparing to leave for the hotel after our dinner at a local alfresco restaurant which serves delicious, affordable dishes, we chanced upon a Kayan lady aka long-neck lady weaving scarf outside a souvenir shop. This was where we bought souvenirs for friends and loved ones at home. We did not forget a photograph or two with the Kayan lady too!
A very fruitful day jam-packed with lots of activities and good food we must say! And the day which initially started out with a minor glitch turned out to truly be one with blessings in disguise as the day unfolds!
Let us know what you think of our Day 1 in Bagan in the comments section below. We would love to hear from you! :D

Can You Climb Any Pagodas In Bagan (2019)? | Bagan, Myanmar
Our most anticipated city in Myanmar, we made it to Bagan to explore the ancient pagodas and temples dotted throughout the landscape. Staying in the most incredible hotel in the Old Bagan area, we explored temples today and tried to scout out any climbable temples in Bagan. After hiring a tuk-tuk driver to take us to all the best spots, we found incredible views of the skyline, and managed to climb supposedly the last pagoda you can get to the top of in Bagan! It wasn't EXACTLY as we expected though..

We COULDN'T BELIEVE Our Eyes! | The Best Temples In Bagan, Myanmar
Looking for the best temples in Bagan, Myanmar? We spent 5 days in the ancient city and made it our goal to visit them all! It’s a fact—no image, video, or memory of Bagan, Myanmar can come close to portraying the magic that quite literally smacks you in the face upon arrival. Jaws were dropped, goosebumps were raised, tears were shed—this place is no joke.
We rented e-bikes for 4,000 kyat per person/per day in New Bagan and headed out on a full day, self-guided adventure, stopping off at all of the major players (Thatbyinnyu Temple, Ananda Temple, Dhammayangyi Temple, etc.) while making sure to cruise through the smaller, distant temples that you can claim all to yourselves (the latter was much more our style). Entrance to the historical region costs 25,000 kyat for foreigners, a small fee considering you’re good for 5-day unlimited use. You better believe we used every last day. :)

Hi friends! We’re Braden & Taylor, a newlywed couple from California living with a BAD case of the travel bug. In Fall 2018, we quit our jobs, sold our belongings, and packed two tiny suitcases to find out what it truly means to live life to the fullest. First and foremost, we vlog for ourselves — our channel is a living picture book of the memories we collect over the next months and years around the globe, traveling to over 60 countries by 2020. If there’s a place we haven’t been, it’s on our list!
Secondly, we document our life on the road for family, friends and strangers alike — if our videos help pass on the travel influenza, then we’ve done our job. ???? We don’t know where this trip will take us, but we promise to ourselves and to you that we will always present both the beautiful and the ugly, because no trip is perfect, and neither is our world. 【Bagan】viewing tower Myanmar 바간타워 2019
미얀마 바간 난민 전망대^^
Bagan Tower, Bagan temple Myanmar
Bagan is an oldest temple in Myanmar. The area is full of temples spread on a surface of land near Irrawaddy River.
Bagan Viewing Tower
Pagodas closed in Bagan | THIS is where you should go to climb Sunrise/Sunset April 2019
The “bucket list” thing to do in Bagan, the ancient city in central Myanmar, is to climb a pagoda and see the hot air balloons rise over the temples at sunrise.
However it is now ILLEGAL to climb them. Our vlog will show you what we did to see the most magical sunrise APRIL 2019.
As of 2018, officials banned temple climbing in Bagan because the temples are old and may not be sturdy, posing a safety risk to visitors.
Some officials said that the climbing ban was also due to religious reasons.
Guards have now closed up the entrances with locks, gates and sometimes prickly branches making it impossible to climb up.
As much as we agree 100% that these pagodas should be protected, we will show you how we were still able to climb some pagodas in 2019.
Keep in mind that we were in Bagan from April 17-20th 2019, so these pagodas and everything we are showing you can change in the upcoming weeks!
We used the app Maps.me where a number of other tourists keep you in the loop as to which pagodas are still opened and where you can see the best sunrise or sunset!
Don’t forget to be respectful to preserve these beautiful stupas: walk barefoot and don’t destroy pagodas just to climb up.

Bagan has over 2000 pagodas in a 40 square kilometer area and an eBike is definitely the best way to get around. It cost me about $5 and the battery lasted all day.
