Jaxx on Long Island, Bahamas
Jaxx arrives on Long Island. For the first two weeks he tries to drink the ocean dry! He's getting the hang of it now. He has his fresh water tub on the beach and still loving the waves!
Through the Reefs in the Bahamas
Explore shallow reef-strewn waters of the Bahamas. We run up on the beach in the far-out Bahamian Islands.
Travelling the Far-Out Islands of the Bahamas there are often no other boats around for days. This trip was in the late spring, and we visited islands where very few boats travel. Our boat is very shallow with a swinging keel - our draft is just 3 feet with the keel up. Using the Explorer charts for the Bahamas we visited the Crooked and Acklins group, then sailed on to the Exumas.
Check out our boat here...

World of Mysteries - Lost City of Atlantis
Subscribe to Naked Science -
The story of Atlantis is one of the greatest mysteries ever told. It is a tale of a powerful civilisation destroyed by the gods more than 11,000 years ago. For centuries explorers have travelled the world in search of this lost city, but have found little. Did Atlantis really exist, or is it the work of one man’s vivid imagination?
The search for Atlantis has been the inspiration behind some of mankind’s greatest achievements. It is the story of a great and powerful empire that became depraved and was sunk to the bottom of the sea by Zeus, the god of gods. Man has scoured the Earth in search for Atlantis, yet we still have no exact location for this lost continent.
There are three islands that shed light on this mystery. The Greek island of Santorini in the Aegean Sea is a popular vacation spot unparalleled in its beauty, but with a violent past. Crete, an island in the Mediterranean Sea, whose history has contributed to the shaping of our world today. And Tenerife in the Atlantic Ocean, which many believe is the last remnant of the lost city.
“Lost City of Atlantis” is a documentary from the “World of Mysteries” series.

#OracleSeries Mysteries: Bimini Road
So small it can’t be seen on most maps, Bimini is a tiny island in the Bahamas that sits about 50 miles east of Miami. Not far off its northwest shore, in about fifteen feet of water, rests the Bimini Road, a long and linear rock formation of astounding uniformity. In 1939, the renowned psychic Edgar Cayce predicted that proof of Atlantis would be found in 1968 off the coast of Bimini. Exactly 29 years later, scientists flying over Bimini observed a massive, submerged shape in the ocean. Since then, innumerable researchers have studied and divers explored this mysterious wonder, incapable of arriving at any definitive explanation.

Cursed Shipwreck Yields Treasure and Human Remains | National Geographic
For 450 years, no one knew where the Swedish warship Mars, named for the Roman god of war, sank in the Baltic Sea. The largest vessel of its time went down in a fierce battle in 1564 with more than 800 people aboard. Its discovery in 2011 yielded an astonishingly well-preserved ship, including the seamen who went down with it.

Deepest Part of The Oceans - Full Documentary HD
Measuring the Greatest Ocean Depth
The Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench is the deepest known point in Earth's oceans. In 2010 the United States Center for Coastal & Ocean Mapping measured the depth of the Challenger Deep at 10,994 meters (36,070 feet) below sea level with an estimated vertical accuracy of ± 40 meters. If Mount Everest, the highest mountain on Earth, were placed at this location it would be covered by over one mile of water.
The first depth measurements in the Mariana Trench were made by the British survey ship HMS Challenger, which was used by the Royal Navy in 1875 to conduct research in the trench. The greatest depth that they recorded at that time was 8,184 meters (26,850 feet).
In 1951, another Royal Navy vessel, also named the HMS Challenger, returned to the area for additional measurements. They discovered an even deeper location with a depth of 10,900 meters (35,760 feet) determined by echo sounding. The Challenger Deep was named after the Royal Navy vessel that made these measurements.
In 2009, sonar mapping done by researchers aboard the RV Kilo Moana, operated by the University of Hawaii, determined the depth to be 10,971 meters (35,994 feet) with a potential error of ± 22 meters. The most recent measurement, done in 2010, is the 10,994 meter ( ± 40 meter accuracy) depth reported at the top of this article, measured by the United States Center for Coastal & Ocean Mapping.
