Bahrain National Museum - Manama
The Bahrain National Museum is the largest and one of the oldest public museums in Bahrain. It is constructed near the King Faisal Highway in Manama and opened in December 1988.
The museum possess a rich collection of Bahrain's ancient archaeological artifacts acquired since 1988, and covers nearly 5000 years of Bahrain's history.

Exploring Bahrain National Museum متحف البحرين الوطني
This weekend we visited the Bahrain National Museum and learnt about Bahrain's history, from the Dilmun Era to seeing the Spitfire that was used during the Gulf War. We learnt about Bahraini crafts and traditions, and had some yummy cake in the adjoining cafe!

Our Story: We are high school sweethearts, who survived a long-distance relationship, ready to start a life together in Bahrain (a tiny island near Dubai, in the Middle East). We have graduated university, moved back home and learning to adjust to adult life! So far, we have no idea what we are doing but aiming to enjoy our time together (finally) and living life to the fullest in the sun, sand and sea!

Situated at the junction of Al-Fatih Highway and Shaikh Hamad Bridge leading to Muharraq, the Museum was officially opened in December 1988 to become one of the latest and largest museums in the Middle East.
The Museum consists of several exhibition halls covering the history of Bahrain from the stone age, through ancient civilizations and up to the pre-oil period.
