Bai Tu Long Bay, Vietnam - the Bay less traveled
A product of Indochina Junk: and Dragon Legend Cruise:
Being a part of Halong Bay, the World Heritage Site, Bai Tu Long Bay is well known for its magical beauty of nature being less impacted by mass tourism. It is a bigger part occupying 3 quarters of Ha Long Bay, which is rich in biodiversity, better environment and naturally marvelous landscape. The bay is dominated by thousand limestone karsts and islets which rise out of the waters of the bay;there are some caves and grottos spread throughout the bay. Most of island is uninhabited becoming home of some flora and fauna.
Cruise in Cong Do area, through Tra San, Vung Dang, Cong Dam area to see the most beautiful place in the world, do kayaking through tranquil lagoons and discover the costal marine ecosystem to deeply feel off the beaten track, surprisingly hidden in nature.
Some amazing attractions to be discovered in Bai Tu Long Bay: Cong Do area covering 23 square kilometers with hundreds of limestone islands in rich biodiversity and home of many species. Thien Canh Son cave in Hon Co Island, a nice appealing site for observing the geological value of nature, Vong Vieng fishing village, beauty of local floating life, a very unique local life on water of World Heritage site.
Far from habor, Cong Dam area with the center of Da Xep geological park offers the best spectacular rock formationin the Bay.
Bai Tu Long Bay appears to have fewer grottos in comparison to Halong Bay but it deserts many pristine sandy beaches where you can truly relax to hide from the world. Do not forget the names of Paradise beach, TraGioi, Cat Oan or Cay Bang beach… Having BBQ on one of these beaches are extremely appealing and fascinating.
Getting out of area which is recognized by UNESSCO, Bai Tu Long Bay covers a much bigger area with some inhabited islands (NgocVungIsland, QuanLanIsland, Cong Dong, Cong Tay Island). Bai Tu Long Bay National Park also offers the best insight to nature discovery. It is more than a day and a night to discover the whole unique area of Bai Tu Long Bay but the trip is a must for visitors who looking for off the beaten track experience.

Vietnam | Majestic Bai Tu Long Bay in 4K Ultra HD
When visiting Hanoi or northern Vietnam, Ha Long Bay is on everyone's bucket list. It's lesser known cousin is Bai Tu Long Bay, which is the group of islands just to the east. They share the same stunning limestone massifs that rise from the blue green water, but they seem to be a little quieter than their world famous neighbor. Read about our adventures in these islands on our blog:

Some 1,600 islands, thick with greenery, form a maze of channels in the azure waters off northeastern Vietnam. Although people have lived in the region of Ha Long Bay for thousands of years, most of the islands remain uninhabited. But these coves and natural towers are rich with wildlife. For centuries, this spectacular seascape has inspired wonder.
The name Ha Long, Vietnamese for “descending dragon,” is reflected in a legend: Once, when the Viet people faced invasion, a dragon flew down from heaven to their defense. The creature sprayed not only fire, but also jewels that became the green archipelago.
The scientific explanation for the rock formations, known as karst, is also amazing. For millions of years, seashells and sediments fell to an ancient seafloor, forming solid rock. Tectonic activity raised the resulting limestone above water. Rainfall and rivers dissolved exposed rock, and carved valleys that flooded after the last ice age, creating this rare example of a karst field at sea.
Features include lakes and caves through the islands, and notches and tunnels where seawater has worn at the pillars' foundations. The fantastic landscape also continues into two adjacent national parks, on Cat Ba Island and Bai Tu Long Bay.
You can go kayaking, caving, or even take a ride in a seaplane to experience the grandeur of these enchanting tropical islands.

BAI TU LONG BAY ADVENTURE!
Taking off from Hanoi, Katie and I headed out to Halong Bay for our Bai Tu Long Bay cruise!
We were super excited for the Yen Duc Water Puppet show, lunch, and 3 days of cruising. Unfortunately, a typhoon from China brought in some atrocious weather -- rain, wind and big waves, so we had to turn back after one night. But check out our experience and views from the incredible one night stay!
Our recommendation is to do a 2 night 3 day visit when you come... but check the weather and hopefully it wont be cancelled! :)
We met some great friends and will never forget it.
Back to Hanoi for some more adventures before heading to Cambodia!

Halong Bay Luxury Cruise | Signature Cruise
This Halong Bay Luxury Cruise was made possible by:
If you’ve never been to Halong Bay, you need to add taking a luxury cruise through Halong Bay to your bucket list! Halong Bay is a UNESCO World Heritage Site for a good reason. It is one of the most beautiful places we have ever seen! It’s filled with giant lime stone karsts that jut out of the water in every direction for miles.
The best way to experience the bay is by a luxury cruise. There are tons of cruise ship operators offering cruises through Halong Bay. The cruises range from cheap backpack boats to five start luxury cruise ships. Since visiting Halong Bay is most likely a once in a lifetime experience, we decided to splurge on a 5 star luxury cruise to ensure that we had the best experience possible!
We booked our cruise with Signature Cruise and we were elated with our experience. Seriously, we don’t have a bad thing to say about Signature Cruises, and that should mean a lot coming from me because when I splurge on an experience I am very critical. Also, the staff treated us like royalty! They made our experience even better.
Our luxurious cruise through Halong Bay started with an amazing lunch served while we were cruising to a floating fishing village. After arriving at the floating village we were rowed around the village in a row boat by one of the women who lived in the floating village. After our row boat ride was completed, we visited a pearl farm to learn how pearls are made. To be completely honest, this sounded kind of lame to me when I read it on the itinerary, but it was actually really interesting!
After leaving the pearl farm, we were taken back to the cruise ship. After an hour or so of relaxing and taking in the beautiful views of Halong Bay, we had a cooking class where we learned to make fresh spring rolls. After the cooking class we enjoyed happy hour with more beautiful views. After happy hour, a delicious five course dinner was served aboard the boat. After dinner I had the opportunity to try my hand at squid fishing. I got really lucky and managed to catch 10!

Ha Long Bay: Vietnam's Paradise | Travel Vietnam
Ha Long Bay is Vietnam's paradise. It's the number 1 toursist destination in this country. When you travel to Vietnam, this has to be on your list. Halong Bay is littered with limestone islands that form a landscape unparalleled in its beauty and uniqueness. You will want to take a boat tour to see all these islets and islands scattered across the ocean. Also, a bonus: I found the absolute best spot in Ha Long Bay to take a photo of an amazing view. The place is called Poem Mountain, and I take you there. Just watch.

HALONG BAY & BAI TU LONG BAY | THE BEST 5 STAR CRUISE EXPERIENCE
3 days, 2 night cruise with Dragon Legend Cruise.
After being picked up in our luxury car in Hanoi at 7.15am (as organised), we ended up at the Halong Bay port. Here we finished paying up our cruise before being called to our cruise leader, Long, and the others on our cruise.
After waiting not too long, we were on our cruise. I have nothing bad to say about this cruise, and you really get what you pay for. The service, the food and the activities were just the best.
Activities included Tai Chi in the morning, kayaking, private beach, swimming, BBQ lunch on the beach and many more.
The views and the serenity was just perfect. We were not bothered by other cruise ships, as this cruise went along Halong Bay and to Bai Tu Long Bay, which is very quiet.
The rooms were comfortable, clean and again with a view to die for.

DON'T GO to Halong Bay ???????? GO TO LAN HA BAY ????️
Why You Should Go To Lan Ha Bay NOT Halong Bay
In today's Vietnam travel vlog, I discuss why a prefer Lan Ha Bay over Ha Long Bay (Halong Bay). Most people have heard of Ha Long Bay but there is a better, lesser-known neighbor - Lan Ha Bay!
Ha Long Bay is a Unesco World Heritage site. When most people visit the Halong Bay area, they usually go on a 2 day, 1-night cruise. I don’t really think that’s enough time to truly appreciate this place & the tour boat companies pack so much into those 48 hours that you barely get to stop and really enjoy how beautiful the place is. So, I’d recommend spending a few more days in the Ha Long Bay area. I traveled with 6 of my friends and we decided to stay 5 days and even that didn’t seem like enough time to explore the area.
Like most, we made our way to the Ha Long area from Hanoi. For about $15 roundtrip, we took a luxury van to Ha Long City. But instead of jumping on a cruise boat and going directly to Ha Long Bay, we decided to spend a couple days on Tuan Chau Island. Tuan Chau Island is just off the coast of Ha Long City. There is a bridge from Ha Long City to Tuan Chau - so it’s just a short cab ride to get there from Halong City. We stayed at an inexpensive resort called La Paz Resort. It was $80 a night per room and we stayed two to a room. So it only cost $40 a night for each individual. We actually got pretty lucky. A huge storm rolled into Ha Long Bay and everyone's Halong Bay cruise was canceled for 2 days. Luckily for us, our Ha Long Bay cruise (Lan Ha Bay cruise) wasn’t for a few days and the resort had a great pool that we had a little fun in! The resort was also right on the beach and you could see the islands of Ha Long off in a distance even though it was pretty cloudy most of the time.
After relaxing a couple of days on Tuan Chau Island, we headed to Lan Ha Bay.
We took a water taxi to Cat Ba Island and then jumped on our boat in Lan Ha Bay. Like I mentioned before, I went with 7 of my buddies and 3 of us shared one cabin. There are many different options for cruise ships from big Halong Bay luxury cruise ships to smaller, more rustic Ha Long Bay cruise boats like the one we stayed on. I personally prefer the smaller boat, there were no more than 15 of us on the boat - so it felt less like a group tour type of thing.
Ok — so why Lan Ha Bay over the more famous Ha Long Bay? Ha Long Bay is beautiful, no doubt but it’s saturated with tourist. And that’s just not what I like. You can get the exact same scenery and beauty with far fewer tourist by going a few kilometers to the southwest to Lan Ha Bay.
Lan Ha Bay is located south of Ha Long Bay, just off the coast of Cat Ba Island. Ha Long Bay covers an area of a little over 1500 square kilometers and has around 1900 small islands. Lan Ha Bay is only 76 square kilometers and has around 400 small islands. While Lan Ha Bay is much smaller but there are more islands per square kilometer. Lan Ha Bay also feels bigger because there are far fewer boats than Ha Long Bay. There were many times I felt like we were the only boat in the entire bay. We were able to explore secluded beaches and coves with just my group and some local fisherman were hanging out.
If you're trying to figure out what to do in Vietnam, I hope this Vietnam travel vlog was helpful. My only regret was not getting more Halong Bay drone shots!
If you’ve been to Ha Long area — please comment below what you’re a favorite activity to do was. If you enjoyed this video - please hit the like button - it helps more people find the video. And if you enjoy this kind of travel video - please consider subscribing. I put out a video weekly documenting my travel adventures.

5* LUXURY HALONG BAY CRUISE (ATHENA CRUISE) | Vietnam | Vlog 047
We head from Hanoi to Halong Bay for a trip of a lifetime on an Athena Luxury Cruise (2 day, 1 night) in Bai Tu Long & Halong Bay. We well and truly splurged for this trip but to say it was worth it would be an understatement. Everything from the food to the activities to the room was perfect and we had an amazing time!
We take you with us for the whole journey, do a room tour, show all of the amazing foods and this is only part/day 1! Stay tuned for our next video on the second day of this amazing trip.
Also as it turns out, if you go out of peak season (we went in February) then the crowds that you so frequently hear of in Halong Bay are almost non-existent.
P.s. Watch to the end for the most bloopers yet!

We aim to inspire you to live a happy, healthy and adventurous life every single day whether that’s in your home town or half way across the world. Join us in our mission to make the most of every day.
As always, thank you so much for watching our videos, talk to you in the comments!
