La Paz Mexico - Baja California Sur Overlanding | Ep 16 | Baja California Overland Adventure
This is episode 16 La Paz Mexico - Baja California Sur Overlanding of my new series from 2017 Xmass trip called: Baja California Overland Adventures
On day 16 of this Baja California road trip, having previously travel to La Paz Baja California Sur Mexico the night before, we woke up to the day of saying good byes. Bred and Bratt would proceed further to Cabo San Lucas and rent a house for over a month, where as I had to start returning back to Canada. Estimating it would take me 5 days to get through mexico while not doing huge distance pushes and then big 2 day push thought USA to Canada.
La Paz is not a big city and is quite charming with good prices on everything compared to Cabo San Lucas. From La Paz travel up to north east to hit some of the nicest beaches in the area, and there are a lot of them, free or payed to stay over night. One of them being famous Balandra La Paz beach.
I've traveled about 4 hours north west trying to hit Baja 1000 route along the pacific ocean side the next day. Having arrived at perfect golden hour sunset at some sort of fishing boats spot with a light house, I called that place home for the night enjoying the slow sunset views. I wish I would have more time to fish in the river near by the next day but return to Canada can't wait.
Overlanding mexico in general means hitting dirt roads when you least expect them. One moment you are driving on highway that can suddenly turn into unpaved highway, and your Baja overland trip may just suddently become spontaneously more fun. The next day of trying to do portions of Baja 1000 would prove to be very unpredictable and full of confusion and suprises.

Baja California adventure, from Tijuana to La Paz on BMW G650GS, Mexico - www.WeResigned.com
Adventure motorcycle trip in Mexico through Baja California on BMW G650GS, from Tijuana border to La Paz ferry
La Paz Baja Mexico
La Paz was quite eventful for us!
We had lots of team building activities.
Camp was beautiful and the owner is an accomplished woman with a story that I was in awe of.
A couple of surron rides with me performing accidental stunts on one of those rides.
Tensions got high and frustrations mounted in high traffic when google maps sent us in circles.
We are a stronger team and I am a better rider because of our time in La Paz.
WHY to go to LA PAZ, Mexico?!?
La Paz is a medium sized city in Baja California Sur, Mexico. It isn't the most well know holiday destination in Mexico, nevertheless there is some good reasons to go and spend your next vacation here. Especially if you are into scuba diving and snorkeling.

FREE BEACH CAMPING (LA PAZ) - Playa El Tecolote (BCS, Mexico) (219)
Ready to camp for free in PARADISE? So is everyone that camps here. And there are lots of snowbirds camped here. That's why we felt so safe. Keep in mind that Sundays here are very busy because that is family day for the locals. There will be lots of loud music and a party atmosphere Saturday night and all of Sunday. We camped here Friday and Saturday night before making our way back to a campground in La Paz and it was very quiet on those days. All you could hear was the surf and the seagulls. This is by far our favorite camping site of all time. AND it was free. There are no services here so you must be self contained but there are garbage bins. You can use the bathrooms at the nearby restaurants for a small fee or you can order something and make use of it then.
There was a pack of about 7 dogs and 5 puppies when we were there. Since they likely rely on the restaurants for food, it's a good idea to walk your dog(s) on the other side of the beach. We only had one bar of 4G LTE where we were camped but when we were behind the restaurants we had full bars of service. We had a relaxing stay and would definitely stay again.

Balandra Beach and Snorkeling in La Paz Mexico - Most Beautiful Beach in Baja California Sur Mexico
La Balandra Beach (Playa Balandra) in La Paz Mexico may be in the top 3 most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. Located in La Paz Mexico, Baja California Sur Mexico, Playa Balandra is paradise and has an overwhelmingly calming energy to it. Surrounded by desert and dry mountains, this oasis has clear glassy like water that is shallow for at least a half mile out from land. It is not well known for a snorkeling destination, but I brought my snorkel gear to see what was underwater and surprised at what I found! I found lots of fish and fascinating coral formations. I could have spent a whole day here relaxing, but since I had a long drive back to Cabo Mexico, I left before sundown to get back to my airbnb for the night. It is a two hour drive to Cabo from Balandra Beach.

In this video you will see what to expect on a fishing tour on the Sea of Cortez in Baja California Sur, Mexico. We booked our charter with Tailhunter International Sportfishing in La Paz and our captain did not disappoint! We were out on the water just before sunrise and once our fishing poles were in the warm Sea of Cortez water, the fish started biting nonstop. We caught at least 7 types of fish including: Dorado(mahi mahi), Sea Bass, Snapper, Bonito, Trumpet Fish, and countless Needlefish. Don’t miss the opportunity to fish the Sea of Cortez in Baja California Sur, Mexico - totally worth it!
