Mallorca is the biggest of the Balearics, and its size is reflected in its diversity. Palma, the only real city in the Balearics, has wonderful Gothic architecture and grand mansions. The maze-like streets are great for exploration, and the city has some of the most inexpensive tapas bars and restaurants in the Islands. There is also lively nightlife to be found in the Plaça Llotja area. The north of the island is dominated by the Serra de Tamuntana, with its craggy peaks and sheltered olive groves. This is a great spot for walking, with well-marked trails and wonderful views. Pollença is an ancient and quiet town, at the foot of the Serra de Tramuntana. The Plaça Major has several laid-back cafes, but the towns unmissable attraction is the Via Crucis a long stone stairway which ascends El Calvari north of the town....

Places to see in ( Felanitx - Spain )
Felanitx is a municipality in the Spanish autonomous community of the Balearic Islands, located in the southeast of Majorca, 48 kilometres from the capital Palma de Mallorca. ince 1603, when the St. Agustí convent was founded, Felanitx has been famous for Els Cavallets dance, in which seven boys of between 10 and 13 years of age, wearing white trousers, red tops and green hats, dance around La Dama, another child in a dress who waves a handkerchief to the music. All dancers were male until fairly recently, when young girls were permitted to join. Felanitx , dating back to the 13th century, lies near the medieval Sant Salvador Monastery with its Gothic architecture.
Felanitx is also known for its wine and particularly its brandy, with over 60 distilleries in the local area recorded in 1749 . Felanitx is a center of production of earthenware water coolers and other pottery since at least the 3rd century BC . A weekly market takes place in Felanitx ever Sunday morning.

Mallorca - Living the local life on the largest island of the Balearics
Cleaning woman island, concrete castles, Ballermann: Mallorca's image is negatively affected in some respects. The documentary explores the charm of the largest Balearic island beyond the hustle and bustle of tourism and Rambazamba.
The real Mallorca is best explored through real Majorcans: Manolo Barahona, TV fishing expert from the local island broadcaster IB3, faces the most difficult task of the year. The Raor is in season, the most expensive fish on the island. Manolo is supposed to get him first in front of the camera and then in the pan. There's only one catch, the little fish with the piranha teeth just doesn't want to be on TV.
In the first months of the year Mallorca turns into a sea of almond blossoms. There are around seven million almond trees on the island, once planted to replace dead vines. But now also the almond trees are threatened. The fire bacterium continues to spread, especially on the large plantations. The farmer Biel Torrens wants to save Mallorca's almond trees and fruit with a small organic plantation and gentle harvesting methods. He shakes the almonds from the tree by hand instead of using a mechanical vibrator.
Cap de Formentor is the northernmost point of Mallorca. The Mallorcans call it the meeting point of the winds. Stones have always played a very special role in this rocky and rough region. The famous stone throwers, the Foners, once fought for the armies of Rome and Carthage. The Foners of today only compete in sports competitions. Old master Diego Camuñas makes his own slingshots, braided from the fibres of the Agave.
Jaume Gual hangs again over the side of the patrol boat and looks into the tube. Caught: a false parker at sea! The motorboat tourist has anchored in the middle of a seagrass meadow. That gives a book reference and a hefty fine. Before Mallorca you will find the largest Neptune grass meadows in the Mediterranean area. They are considered the lungs of the sea and are endangered by ruthless tourists.
A few years ago Francisco Pizá Bordoy opened his beach bar near Ses Salines. Whoever runs such a chiringuito is also responsible for the entire beach operation. He has to employ lifeguards, keep the sand clean, set up sufficient toilets and of course loungers. In short: provide total relaxation for the guests. The beach entrepreneur himself can rarely relax, as he is a policeman in his main job. The lease contract for his beach section is limited in time. And the competition doesn't sleep.

Spectacular Contemporary Exclusive House in Cala Llamp, Mallorca, Spain (by Domus Vivendi)
Heaven can’t be far away sitting on the terraces of this beautiful house built directly on the cliffs. A house on this spot has to be spectacular simply to do justice to nature. The architects of Domus Vivendi have been aware of this challenge right from the start and the Terraza Balear team felt honoured to share this experience with them. ‘Cloud’ is certainly a huge house, but more than that, it is grand by its design.
Cloud is the largest development in the Cala Llamp, and this is only one superlative of many. While you can grasp the overall area of the three buildings with 2.530 square meters, one can hardly describe the extraordinary aspiration in numbers or words.
Cloud snuggles up to the easterly boarder of the Cala Llamp. The buildings have been positioned with such care, in order to create spectacular vistas between the bay and the rooms. The three buildings of Cloud, connected by a pool of 28 meters length and a copious terraces shaded by Bougainvillas, merge to one elegant entity. The main house, “MyCloud” is the largest. The “GuestCloud” for friends and visitors and the “ChillCloud” with gym and lounge complete the triad.
The linking element of all three buildings is the stately and elegant architecture. A contrast is built by juxta positioning the contemporary and light building structure with traditional natural stone walls and heavy timber beams. The language of the architecture preempts was lies inside: Cloud combines representative exclusivity with Mallorquin identity.
Cloud is unique. An object that allows no comparison but does not need to shy away from one. Every facet- from the Infinity- pool to the movie theatre – has been created in the awareness to set standards.
Every zone in Cloud releases its effect by presenting exceptional design elements: an aquarium creates the base of the kitchen cooking island and an olive tree grows in the entrada of the main house. The Infinity- pool has a natural rock with a waterfall on one side and a Jacuzzi on the other. Vertical gardens and drapes of water serve as living dividers in an opulent layout.
Apart from these extensive architectural installations there is a selection of hand chosen art and other single objects that give Cloud its distinctive character. Sculptures, pictures and an especially for Cloud created china are just a few examples. Additionally to all these exceptional elements the houses are equipped with an eloquent sense of interior design. Lights by the Venetian company Foscarini which is in Murano, or the sofa landscape by Minotti are signs of excellent style and sophisticated living culture.
All furniture and decorations have been chosen with great care and attention to detail. Warm and earthy colours bring the outdoors in, clear line furniture follows the strong architecture. The whole ensemble of ‘Cloud’ is a masterpiece of art and skills. Quality and exclusivity have been the guiding principals and perfection subtly go beyond expectations. As the name suggests, it was created for living in seventh heaven.

Balearic Helicopters - Helicopter Transfers, Training, Flight Experiences Palma, Mallorca
My recommended books, products, and equipment:
Visit:
When you arrive at Palma International Airport in Mallorca how will you complete your journey to your hotel or villa?
Taxi? Bus?
How about a helicopter transfer provided by Balearic Helicopters?
Imagine being greeted after you've completed the formalities for arrivals and being escorted to the Private Jet Terminal to board a helicopter.
Helicopter transfers make the perfect beginning and end to a holiday on the island.
But this is just one of many flight experiences that Balearic Helicopters can offer.
For example, there are dozens of ways in which you can explore Mallorca from the air.
Fly through the Tramuntana Mountain Range, track along the picturesque coastline, and take a peek at the homes of the many celebrities living on the island.
Flights can be arranged to suit, from short trips to a full round the island experiences during which you will enjoy views of the entire coastline.
You can enjoy a sightseeing tour, be dropped off near a restaurant where a table will have been reserved for you, and fly back to your villa or hotel.
During all this flying your curiosity may be stirred and you might be wondering if you too could fly a helicopter.
Balearic Helicopters provide flight training for ab initio students right through to a PPL(H) and beyond into the world of commercial aviation.
Start with a trial lesson and see if the bug bites. You could find your stay extended for a few weeks while you proceed on to obtain a Private Pilots Licence.
But the training doesn’t have to end there. You can extend the learning curve with supplemental training in mountain flying and a water course.
If your ambition is to fly commercially then Balearic Helicopters can train and mentor you through the entire process while you build up the hours, gain the experience, and study those all important ground school subjects.
Balearic Helicopters was setup by Jonny Greenall who has been flying in Mallorca for over 16 years. He has over 4,000 hours of flying experience and is a fully qualified CAA Flight Examiner and an Authorised EASA Examiner.
Together with his colleagues Paul Smith, a Commercial Pilot and Flight Instructor and Jane Wynne, Operations Administrator, Balearic Helicopters will provide you with unforgettable experiences.
From a helicopter ride to a picnic in the mountains for two, formation flying in several helicopters for large groups, to flight training for aspiring pilots.

Mallorca, Spain apartment for rent
is the island located in the Mediterranean Sea, one of the Balearic Islands. It is largest by area and second most populated island of Spain (after Tenerife in the Canary Islands).[2]
The capital of the island, Palma, is also the capital of the autonomous community of the Balearic Islands. The Cabrera archipelago is administratively grouped with Majorca (in the municipality of Palma). The anthem of Majorca is La Balanguera.
Like the other Balearic Islands of Ibiza, Formentera and Minorca, the island is a popular tourist destination. In Germany, the United Kingdom and to a lesser extent, Ireland, where package tourism to the island started in May 1952, Majorca has remained a popular destination. The name derives from Latin insula maior, larger island; later Maiorica.
