Pluses:
Excellent hotel, wonderful staff (especially our butler Aryo was simply wonderful), spa highly recommendable. The food in general is delicious but the Cooking Academy, which also houses a small Balinese restaurant is the best! We had a wonderful time!
Amazing stay! Everything was perfect. Staff were very friendly, we were positively surprised by them and the complementary upgrades and services.
Great location with beautiful gardens. The villas are wonderful, in Balinese style with a perfect plunge pool.
What makes a stay at Fourseasons Bali is the airport welcoming service where a hotel staff member will be at the waiting area to help you through the airport
I loved how we were treated like royality by the hotel staff & tours driver making sure we were enjoying our stay!
Minuses:
The price of meals is very high and every bill has 21% added for service and tax.

Hacker's & Slacker's Golf Carnivale 2016
A Golf Experience unlike any others is back! On 24th September 2016 for the 2nd time Handara Golf and Resort Bali held Hackers and Slackers event.
Hackers & Slackers is a very unique Golf event that combines Fun Golf Tournament with Family Friendly Activities. It was a pioneer program for its kind in Bali. We thank our sponsors made this event successful!
The main missions of this event are to spread the joy of golf to all generations and to support a worthy cause.
Hackers & Slackers is about the happiness of the unfortunate children. We have invited 50 foster children to come up and enjoy the Golf Carnival with us supported by Handara CSR Program, Bali Adventure Tour and Moms & I.
We were also coordinating the efforts with Nurul Quran Bali (“Orphan Care Program) and Larondendari Bali where the proceeds from the tournament goes to 6 orphanage houses and Yayasan Widya Guna WINS Foundation (Home and Learning for the unprivileged and special needs children).
We’re humbled that other entities have started to trust and support us doing this worthy cause.
We hope to see you all in the next Hackers & Slackers!
Bali Pulina agro tourism in Ubud, Indonesia
Bali Pulina Agro Tourism is one of Ubud’s new tourist destinations that aim to introduce kopi Luwak (Civet Coffee), which is their main product, as well as to educate the local people and tourist about it. In this place you can also witness the traditional process of making the Civet Coffee.
Set 12 km outside of Ubud, the Bali Pulina plantation is based in Tegallalang, Bali. The entrance is free, and you will be greeted by a knowledgeable guide who will show you around the complex, and also take you through the processes involved in making the most expensive coffee in the world.
Not only coffee, Bali Pulina Agro Tourism also plants Chocolate and other herbal plants and fruits that you can check out during your walk around. After walk around and watching the coffee processing, you can continue your walk to the lodge where you can relax while enjoying a cup of coffee or any other beverage and see the beautiful landscape of refreshing green surroundings. It’s around 30 minutes away from Bale Udang Ubud. Located on Jalan Raya Tegalalang.
Kopi Luwak (Indonesian for Civet Cat) is produced from coffee beans that have been digested, and excreted, collected and roasted & ground to make Kopi Luwak coffee. This process ensures that the coffee loses it’s bitterness, and it’s now worldwide fame for it’s smoothness.
The grounds themselves are immaculately kept and houses an array of plants and spices that you will see, taste and smell along the tour and are used in their samples that you will get to taste. These include ginger, cinnamon, chocolate and vanilla teas and coffee’s. You have to purchase the Luwak coffee for a small charge but otherwise the samples again are free and a nice surprise at the end of looking around the plantation.
At the end there is the shop where you can buy singular or multiple packs of all the samples that you have tried. There is no pressure but couldn’t resist the chocolate coffee which was my favourite. Overall, with it’s picturesque views and tranquil setting a great experience and not to be missed.

Kecak and Fire Dance Performance
The Kecak Dance is an especially unique and possibly the most dramatic of all Balinese dances. A combination of dance and drama, the Kecak dance depicts the Hindu epic, Ramayana, that tells the story of Prince Rama, who with the help of the monkey-like Vanara defeats the evil King Ravana to rescue his Princess Sita. Kecak Dance is always performed just before sunset. As the drama unfolds, the scene is cast in the last rays of the sun when its orb slowly disappears behind the glowing horizon of the sea.

Our Favourite Day in UBUD | Best Spa in BALI | Ep 4
Magical is the best word to describe this day.
We woke up to an amazing sleep in our luxury villa at the Komaneka at Bisma only to take a scenic cycle tour around our neighborhood. We were happy to find monkeys in the street and after a bit of exercise it was time to get fully pampered.
We headed off to the famous Karsa Spa, located in the middle of a rice patty. This was hands down the best massage we got during our stay in Bali. The price, premises and the masseuses were next level. We got the Buddha package which consisted of almost 3 hours of pampering for the extremely reasonable price of 450,000 IDR each (about $45 NZD).
If you want to visit make sure you book well in advance:
After feeling nice and relaxed we headed down for a walk through the Campuhan ridge which went from great to EPIC! Such a great scenic short walk.
When we thought the day couldn't get any better we managed to find Yen's beloved mie ayam again - arguably the best noodle dish in Bali. It was the very same mie ayam stall on Campuhan road we had back in Day 2 -
It was the best noodles we had during our entire time in Bali and it topped off an already amazing day. We think it's probably the best street food stall in Bali. Huge thanks to Ari from that introduced us to Antok who cooked us up this magical noodled dish! If you're looking for a personal driver in Ubud, we can't recommend Ari enough.

Is Bali Beautiful? - Explore The North ????????
This part of Bali is way better than we thought and it's way better than kuta and semiyak in our opinion. We will take you to see how it is like in Munduk and around, from what to see, what to eat and what to do within a day, which is perfect if you actually stay in Ubud or Seminyak, area and want to have a day trip to these BEST-LESS Visited Places In Bali.
At about 7 am in the morning, that’s the time you see the town comes to life; just about 5 minutes ride away from our villa, it’s the small village areas where we spot farmer harvesting, school kids, cow, and serenity. it’s not crowded here, actually only about one-sixth of Bali’s population lives here. This is surely the feeling that we did not get from southern Bali where there is more influx of tourists. It still feels authentic, real and raw in a sense.
First off, something about the chilly climate Temperature can drop below 17°C at night! Also, it gives the feel of lush jungle wilderness in north Bali makes it the ideal destination for some of the most impressive and hidden waterfalls, some of them does not even have the path to it, so the first destination we try to hit today is the waterfall in Munduk, then we off to some of the most unique temple in Bali which is the biggest Buddhist monastery on the island and then we end the day with hot spring.
it’s peaceful, no traffic but the Cabs/taxis are very rare or are almost non-existent in North Bali, and there is definitely no public transport to help you get around easily. the road is not always smoothest. In The north we mostly see people hire the driver from south Bali to drive up to the north, which from what we heard, it can cost from 500,000 to 800,000 Rupiah to hire driver for a day.

FREE CAMPING IN BALI - The Way Overland - Episode 23
From Nusa Penida we head back to Bali and are told about a nice spot to camp by a lake in the central mountains of Bali. Although the weather had dried up on the coast, the mountains had still been getting their fair share of the wet season. We found this out late at night whilst trying to find the camp spot driving through a flooded forest! We decided it wasn’t the best idea to camp in the forest so drove back to a carpark on the edge of Lake Buyan.
Lake Buyan is 1 of 3 lakes in the area which sit inside a huge caldera and was actually connected with one of the other lakes until about 1800 when a landslide separated them. The lakes sit at about 1200m above sea level which means that there’s always a bit of a chill in the air… a nice change to the coastal heat and humidity!
We then make a quick dash down to Denpasar to pick up Mark’s brother Mitch. We’d planned to wait for him to arrive before doing much sightseeing in Bali so that we still had lots to do while he’s with us.
First on the list is diving in Tulamben on the northeast coast. Here there is a WW2 US cargo shipwreck (US Liberty) which was torpedoed by a Japanese submarine in January 1942. The captain beached the ship where it stayed until 1963 when Mount Agung erupted causing the ship to become displaced to where it now lies just 30 metres off the beach. The wreck starts at about 3m below the surface and goes down to about 30m. Tulamben is also a protected marine area which means that there’s plenty of fish swimming around and very healthy coral. The water visibility was also fantastic!
On our first dive in the area at the other end of the beach we spotted a school of Bumphead Parrotfish, the largest of the Parrotfish family. Jolie had actually dove down and was looking at some smaller fish and when she turned around they were swimming right past her and gave her a bit of a surprise as they’re about 1 metre long each!
Mark and Mitch decided to go for a night dive in the wreck and found lots of these Parrotfish hanging out in the wreck. After doing a bit of research on these huge fish we learnt that at dusk they the come up from the depths and find places to sleep such as in wrecks and around coral until dawn where they make their journey back down again.
At one of the local restaurants we met a guy who lived in a nearby village who invited to take us out spearfishing on his small boat. Unfortunately there was only room for 3 people on the boat including him, so it was just Mark and Mitch for this one. There’s a small bamboo platform which sits about 200 metres offshore with a line going down to approximately 100 metres in crystal clear water. Although not a huge catch it was still enough to have a beach bbq (Indo style over burning coconuts husks as coals) to feed 5 adults.
After a fun few days of exploring under the waters surface, we pack up the car and start our waterfall tour of Bali. The first waterfall we went to was a little underwhelming (though still beautiful). We stayed for about 10 minutes and then moved onto the next one, Nungnung Waterfall, which was certainly a bit more impressive! To get to the falls you have to walk right down into a valley via hundreds of stairs. Not to worry though as you’re rewarded with this huge waterfall at the bottom!
Getting pretty late in the day we decided just to set the car up in the carpark of the waterfall and then keep driving the following day. A lady who owns one of the small food shops here offered to cook up some Nasi Goreng for us and then invited us around to her family home where her family where preparing the food and decorations for her Grandson’s 3rd birthday celebration the following day. All of the men prepare the food the day before for the women to cook it on the day of the celebration.
We were invited back to the celebration the next day though unfortunately it started a bit late and we were keen to get back on the road, so we had to give it a miss.
Now, driving almost back to where we started by the lake is Banyumala Waterfall. The walk down to the falls was pretty easy and there’s actually a handful of other smaller falls here if you venture just a short distance downstream.
Thanks for watching! We’d love to hear suggestions of places to visit so feel free to leave us a comment below!
Next week we have a bit of an unexpected extension of our stay in Bali, say goodbye to Mitch and then head west to Java!

RISKING AN UBER - SEMINYAK TO UBUD | Indonesia Travel Vlog 131, 2018 | Bali Taxi
Uber in Bali is sort of frowned upon, but Seminyak to Ubud was definitely cheaper than a taxi and worth the risk! ⬇ Click 'Show More' ⬇
Going from Seminyak to Ubud got interesting... Taxis have a bit of a strong hold on the Bali market, (possibly all of Indonesia), theres areas that Uber aren't welcome, other than drop offs, and a lot of Seminyak falls into that area. We're not 100% sure if our location in Seminyak was one of those areas, but we eventually managed to get an Uber and make our way to Ubud.
Ubud is an awesome spot, we have a lot of vlog to come from here soon, its got a very different feel to Seminyak and shows another side of Bali as a whole.
Just keep in mind with Taxis in Bali to stick with Bluebird Group Taxis only, theyre legit and run strictly off the meter so you won't get ripped off.
