What Taxi's Should You Trust? || Bali Taxi Feud 2019
I talk with the locals to get details on the Taxi Feud that isn’t getting any better.
I won’t tell whether you should use the online service or go to a local stand, but you should know the rules and opinions from the drivers themselves before you decide. Luckily, there seems to be a solution at the end of it all.
This week on Tracing Thought I visit local stands in popular tourist areas and go to the airport to talk with Taxi Drivers about prices and conflicts within the Taxi System.

THINGS TO DO IN BALI - TOP PLACES TO VISIT - TIPS FOR PERFECT TRIP - BALI VLOG
My Enchanted Bali Trip:
I decided to take a break from my mundane activity and plan a trip to Bali, which is situated in the eastern part of Indonesia's main Island. It's among the world major tourist destinations and many tourists from around the world make Bali into their Bucket list. I hope that after reading this and also going through my posted pics, you'll add it to your list or will visit this Beautiful Island again.
10 Points to Note :
1. Visa is free on arrival for max 30 days.
2. Every season is the best season to visit Bali.
3. Don't forget to pack your Ponchos or Umbrella, in the dry season you might not experience rain but it's worth better staying safe.
4. Carry money in US$ dollars only, and that too in multiples of 100. If you want you can also carry your forex card.
5. Don't exchange every bit of dollars you've carried, exchange in installments. Also, see that you exchange currency at Government Authorised shops, those are the shops marked with 'Pt.' written before their names.
6. For flight tickets, plan in advance and book at least before 2 months. You can get best rates on sites like Skyscanner or Kayak.
7. If you're going along with family then book your hotels in advance, all hotels in Kuta region with 3 star are decent for family stay and also provide complimentary breakfast. You can also rent a bungalow via Airbnb.
8. If you're travelling with friends, then look out for good backpackers lodges with good bed and wifi. Most of them also serve you breakfast.
9. You can also rent a two-wheeler subject to the fact that you have International Driving License, it's better to be safe in an unknown territory. Most people drive with their own country issued license but don't take chances. Heard of many scams running.
10. Bali is a Vivacious Island, so keep at least a week to explore the in and out of it. I'll list out the places to visit but you have to make the most of this tropical beauty. People here are most friendly than the one in European continent. Enjoy the local food, especially the Nasi Goreng and Black Rice Porridge. Some people can't speak English but they are good at heart and will help you out any way they can.
Places To Stay & Visit:
I would suggest you stay at three main places and they are, Kuta (3 nights), Ubud (2 nights) and Nusa Penida (1 Night). By staying at Kuta you will explore the southern Island of Bali, stay at Ubud will enable you to explore the Nothern side. I loved Ubud very much, it's more like a hill station, windy and cool. One night at Nusa Penida, which is a different Island and will help you explore the whole of it. Many people rent a bike to explore this island, also there seems no issue of police.
Visit:
By Kuta - Kuta Beach, Seminyak Beach, Uluwatu Temple, Nusa Dua, Tanjung Benoa Harbour, Turtle Conservation Island, Jimbaran Bay, Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park, Denpasar City, Kumbasari Market.
By Ubud - Kintamani Volcano, Kintamani Trek, Celuk Village ( famous for Silver Ornaments), Mas Village, Coffee Plantations, Pura Taman Saraswati Temple, Goa Gajah Temple, Ulun Danu Beratan, Teerta Empul, Tellangang Rice terrace, Tanah Lot Temple, Ubud Village tour.
By Nusa Penida - For going here you have to go to Sanur port which is 12 kms from Kuta. There you have to catch a speed cruise to Nusa Penida, which takes 40 - 45 mins to reach Toya Pakeh the main port at Nusa Penida. From there on hire a Car or Bike to explore these places. They are Kelingkling Beach, Crystal Bay, Angel's Billabong and Broken Beach.
I hope you have already started planning this in your head, Good luck with your travel Adventures.
BALI MANDARA : TOLL ROAD WITH THE VIEW #BaliGoLiveDestination
The US $220 million Bali Mandara Toll Bridge connects Denpasar, South Kuta, Nusa Dua and the Ngurah Rai International Airport. Opened in 2013, the bridge was an innovative solution to Bali’s traffic congestion.
The bridge stretches for 12.7km and provides easy access to various destinations. At a cost of Rp. 4.500 per motorbike and Rp. 11.000 per car, it is worth a drive just to take in the sunset at Benoa Harbour or watch the planes take off right above your head as you drive by.

Travel Bali Day 4 - Ubud Day Trips | Tegenungan Waterfall and Tegalalang Rice Terrace fun!
Daily Vlog #71 - Travel Bali Vlog day 4 - Let me start off by saying that Ubud is my favorite place in Bali :) When your backpacking Bali you can always create a home base and do many fun day trips. Most of the time when your travelling Southeast Asia that is the case, but especially with Bali being so small it really works out. I would say that these are some of the best things to do in Ubud. Today started off with a quick descision to do a coffee plantation tour, Tegenungan Waterfall and Tegalalang Rice Terrace tour. It was about $45 and was aranged right from our hotel with a full day of fun with everything included minus the food. The first stop we had was trying out the famous Kopi Luwak on a coffee farm. This very unqiue way of making cofee (having the animal eat and then poop out the beans) makes it a must try! We then hopped in the car and headed out to see the Tegalalang Rice Terraces. These rice terraces are amazing! and a must see if your visiting Ubud. After wandering around some beautiful bali rice terraces it was time to head up to the volcano, unfortunalty due to the rain we had to just settle for some lunch. After the rain subsidded it was time to hit the Tegenungan Waterfall. This waterfall is amazing and the power it holds is incredible. There are some easy stairs to gain access to the base and if you are looking for some waterfalls in Bali make sure to come here. You can swim behind the falls and it really makes the whole experinence very magical. After a long day of exploring Bali it was time to move into a new hotel and grab some dinner. Ubud is amazing and you'll hear me say it many times but it's just a magical place! Oh and that Bali vegan resteraunt at the end is really really really good :) I hope you guys enjoyed this video of our travels in Bali and it's now time to get started on the next vlog hahah so it's not so late :) - Bali travel guide with some useful bali travel tips.

Honeymoon in Southeast Asia: BALI, INDONESIA
Fourth stop: Bali, Indonesia
Hotel: Adiwana Resort Jambawan We were here for 5 nights total. We originally picked their new hotel Adiwana Monkey Forest but we were told that they had overbooked and we were given this more expensive hotel instead. This hotel is located in Ubud which is central to Bali as a whole. They have a complimentary breakfast which was more than filling. The service, room, and pool were amazing. We do wish there was a gym though.
Flight: Thai Lion (do NOT recommend) - They charged us for each bag per flight (including connecting) which costed us a total of $140 CAD for 2 bags.
Attractions covered:
1. Cantik Agriculture Coffee Farm
2. Tirta Empul Temple (Holy Spring)
3. Tegallang Rice Terrace + Bali Swing
4. Ubud Palace
5. Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary
6. Nusa Penida Tour - Snorkelling, Kelingking Beach, Broken Beach
7. La Brisa Beach Club
8. Finns Beach Club
Recommendations:
1. Group attractions in Bali according to location. We weren't able to squeeze in half of our list because each required slightly more than half a day to cover.
2. Ask us about our local driver: Leo/Krishna. He charged a fair rate and he was super friendly.
3. Book a Nusa Penida Tour: the tour did feel rushed and it was a lot of travel tie.
4. There's plenty of vegan and vegetarian options so take your herbivore friends.
5. Rent a scooter for less than $7CAD per day. I recommend using it for trips less than 30 min and only during the daytime. There are barely any streetlights.
6. Be ready to put on a SARONG (a long cloth to cover your legs) at temples.
Itinerary:
September 4-6 - Singapore ???????? (
September 6-10 - Phuket, Thailand ???????? (
September 10-15 - Chiang Mai, Thailand ???????? (
September 15-20 - Ubud (Bali), Indonesia ????????
Please subscribe, criticize, and let me know if you have any questions. Cheers.

TRAVEL VLOG|BALI - INDONESIA|A week in paradise!
OH MY GOODNESS IM BACK FROM BALI LAND HIIIIIIII ALL!! SOOOOO
I spent one week in The Bali Dream Suite Villas - Seminyak! My boyfriend and I had a villa to ourselves, with a private pool omg bye. We LOVED our accommodation and personally I highly recommend it!! The location is perrrrfect, a short moped drive into Seminyak square and to the beach. ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTE: I wasn't going to hire a moped because it's a tad dangerous BUT I'm so glad we did! My boyfriend did ALL the driving because he is better at that sort of stuff HEHE. The moped cost us $7 Australian dollars for everyday we hired it, and about $2 dollars worth of fuel lasted like 4 or so days. With the moped we were able to go LITERALLY everywhere, and that we did!!! They don't really have any roads rules but from what we gathered, HONK to notify people you're there.. if that makes sense? So if you're going to slow for example, the car behind you will honk and you should either move or hurry up.
We had a BLAST on our moped, it was so awesome being able to see so much of Bali just by using the moped as transport.
Please note: I didn't want to do any activities that involved animal captivity etc! But unfortunately when we went into the putt putt place (after we had already paid) I noticed they had 2 monkeys captive :( I wrote a Facebook review to express my feels that they were unnecessary and the owner told me they saved them??? so
I don't know. (I didn't film them because tbh it was really sad)
At the monkey forest the monkeys are in there natural habit and get fed literally ALL day so I think thats fine :) so that is why I went there!
No elephant rides or zoo visits for us though!
ALSO we only went on one tour and I'm glad we did it because we saw a lot BUT we could have done it all by ourselves which I wish we did instead. The tour was sooo overpriced for what we did.. and as I said we could have just taken ourselves to all the places we went!
UMMM I think that's all I have to say hehe ENJOY MY BALI EXPERIENCE

About Divertliving
American and Thai travel couple left the career in military and finance to become travel story teller. We met in 2015 in South Korea when Jimmy was in U.S. army and Tah studied for bachelor degree. In 2017, September, we both started traveling and created ' divertliving ' to share with world that we are not rich, but we can still travel well and enjoy our life. The content is uploaded almost everyday, providing real travel experience, traveling tips, struggle we have been through while traveling.
