Romania was divided into three principalities until the 19th century that Bucharest is to develop as a Muntenia, one of the capital of the Principality in the 15th century. Vlad The ball was then Muntenia 0 shares as a model for Count Dracula's later novels principality. Vlad ball was monarch had resisted fiercely against the Turkish military occupation naseotdeon in Eastern Europe and the Balkans in the late 14th century. However, he will receive finally met a miserable end later Muntenia too long colonial rule of the Turkish principalities. To meet the Turkish military and the palace he had built was destroyed by earthquake and fire also gotta majority is now the only remaining traces. It is a sad fact that there was bound to be that Romania since the beginning of the second century of the Roman Empire, beginning yiminjok compared to the long history of aggression and colonial rule long, as war continued in Bucharest, Romania, as well as all cities are destroyed. I stumbled lingered for a while in order to find the trail of the old history at the site of the fracture. But those who crave peace, even here would just imagine as he missed the free world outside the family, not fulfilling the underground shelter. Beyond that I did not know.

Virtual Cycle Rides - Bucharest, Romania
Around 40 mins Running or Cycling at 9 mph/15 km/h
Bucharest is elegance layered with history, the old face of the city. Known in the past as The Little Paris,
Bucharest a very interesting mix of old and new that has little to do with its former reputation. Finding a 300-year-old church near a steel-and-glass tower that both sit next to a communist-style building is commonplace in Bucharest.
Communism changed the face of the city forever, and nowhere is this more evident than at the gargantuan Palace of Parliament See this and all his glory in a Virtual Cycle Ride in this amazing charming city.

Summer 2017 Part 3: Hiking the Romanian Carpathians - The Făgăraș Mountains
During the summer of 2017, I spent six weeks hiking and wild camping my way across lots of different mountain ranges throughout the Balkans and Eastern Europe.
Countries I visited included Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania, Montenegro and Croatia. I carried minimal equipment. Without food and water, my bag weighed just over 5kg’s, including a tent and cooking kit.
In between each walk, I enjoyed some hitchhiking, sightseeing, and other budget travel opportunities whilst resting and resupplying in towns.
I spent the first few weeks of my journey crossing the parts of the Carpathian Mountains in Romania, from west to east. I then travelled to Sofia in Bulgaria and hiked the E4 trail over the Rila and Pirin mountains into northern Greece. After that, I crossed the Sar Mountains from Macedonia into Kosovo.
My final hike took me through the Accursed Mountains of Albania and down into Montenegro, where I finally stopped walking to enjoy some of the lovely beaches on the Adriatic Coast, before eventually flying home from Dubrovnik in Croatia.
This video shows the third hike of my journey, across the Făgăraș Mountains in Romania, as well as my stay in Brașov afterwards.
Everything was hastily filmed on a smartphone with a very shaky hand and a regretful ignorance of any kind of camera technique or directorial vision!
A big thank you goes out to all of those who helped me in the planning of my trip by answering my endless questions about route information and bears, etc. You know who you are!

Thoughts in Bucharest, Romania
9 August 2014 - On the terrace of my hostel in Bucharest, Romania, sorting through some thoughts on long-term travel, previous and upcoming destinations, and what it's like to be back in a city I enjoyed so much the first time around almost two years ago...After spending 7 months in Asia, I found myself back in the Balkans, and though I was tired and jetlagged, I couldn't help but feel the energy in this region of Europe that has always made me feel so alive!
EUROVELO 13 - Serbia / Bulgaria border - Pirot to Dragoman train - Episode 2
EUROVELO 13 SERBIA BULGARIA.
In this episode, we explain how we travelled from Pirot in Serbia to Dragoman in Bulgaria. After hearing some horror stories about the road condition and new highway, it was generally suggested (by our EV13 guidebook too) that the short rail journey over the border was the best bet. We had no specific details on how to do this.. here's how we got on!
Point to note, in Serbia the EV signs we near perfect. After this, they simply do not exist yet through Bulgaria Macedonia Greece and Turkey (as of Nov 2018).
In this series I hope to show you the way and help you prepare!

Nicolae Ceausescu LAST SPEECH (english subtitles) 1/2
Nicolae Ceauşescu (Romanian pronunciation: [nikoˈla.e tʃa.uˈʃesku]; 26 January 1918 25 December 1989) was a Romanian politician who was the Secretary General of the Romanian Communist Party from 1965 to 1989, President of the Council of State from 1967, and President of Romania from 1974 to 1989.
His rule was marked in the first decade by an open policy towards Western Europe and the United States, which deviated from that of the other Warsaw Pact states during the Cold War. He continued a trend first established by his predecessor, Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej, who had tactfully coaxed the Soviet Union into withdrawing troops from Romania in 1958.[1]
Ceauşescu's second decade was characterized by an increasingly erratic personality cult, nationalism and a deterioration in foreign relations with the Western powers as well as the Soviet Union. Ceauşescu's government was overthrown in a December 1989 military coup, and he and his wife were executed following a televised two-hour session by a kangaroo court.[2]
EC: „Adunați-i pe toți. Ce e cu voi? Stați liniștiți! Liniște! N-auzi?”
