Landscape Photography- How to Capture a Beautiful Sunrise- Ball Bay Norfolk Island Part 2
This is the second Landscape Vlog of my time on the beautiful Norfolk Island photographing some Landscape Photography images.
I travel to the stunning Ball Bay and describe how to photograph a sunrise of the sun rising over the eastern sky. The morning was interrupted by passing showers however right on sunrise the clouds cleared and I was able to capture a memorable image.
I then changed to the west of the Island find some compositions of the root structure of some 200 year old Moreton Bay Fig trees. The light although subdued provided dramatic contrast against the amazing root structure.
Norfolk Island was an amazing experience and I look forward to returning again one day soon.

All images captured using my Nikon 7100 and a Tokina 11-16 wide angle lens. I use a cable release and a Vanguard Alta series 70 tripod for maximum stability on all shots. Filters Formatt Hi Tech

Norfolk Island (Norfuk: Norfuk Ailen) is a small inhabited island in the Pacific Ocean located between Australia, New Zealand and New Caledonia, and along with two neighbouring islands forms one of Australia's external territories.
The Norfolk Island pine, a symbol of the island pictured in its flag, is a striking evergreen tree endemic to the island and is quite popular in Australia, where two related species also groW.
Geography
Norfolk Island is located in the South Pacific Ocean, east of Australia. Norfolk Island is the main island of the island group the territory encompasses and is located at 29°02′S 167°57′E. It has an area of 34.6 km² (13.3 mi²), with no large-scale internal bodies of water but 32 km of coastline. The island's highest point is Mt. Bates (319 m above sea level), located in the northwest quadrant of the island. The majority of the terrain is suitable for farming and other agricultural uses. Philip Island, the second largest island of the territory, is located at 29°07′S 167°57′E, several kilometres south of the main island.
The coastline of Norfolk Island consists, to varying degrees, of cliff faces. A downward slope exists towards Sydney Bay and Emily Bay, the site of the original colonial settlement of Kingston. There are no safe harbour facilities on Norfolk Island, with loading jetties existing at Kingston and Cascade Bay. All goods not domestically produced are brought in by ship, usually to Cascade Bay. Emily Bay, protected from the Pacific Ocean by a small coral reef, is the only safe area for recreational swimming, although surfing waves can sometimes be found in Ball Bay.
The climate is subtropical and mild, with little seasonal differentiation. The island is a volcanic formation with mostly rolling plains.
The area surrounding Mt. Bates is preserved as the Norfolk Island National Park. The park, covering around 10% of the land of the island, contains remnants of the forests which originally covered the island, including stands of subtropical rainforest.
The park also includes the two smaller islands to the south of Norfolk Island, Nepean Island and Philip Island. The major settlement on the Island is Burnt Pine, located predominantly along Taylor's Road.

Landscape Photography - Awesome sunset at Emily Bay -Norfolk Island-Part 1
In this Vlog I travel from Australia to a little gem in the south pacific called Norfolk Island. Norfolk is a popular tourist destination for Landscape photographers and travellers from Australia due to its natural beauty.
On arrival I set my goal to capture a sunset image at the lone pine tree at Emily Bay. This tree is as old as the island itself and was captured in a pencil sketch by British explorer James Cook in 1774 after he discovered Norfolk by mistake. It is amazing that it still stands today and is an icon of Norfolk Island.
The sunset did not disappoint and only improved after the sun disappeared and I was able to capture its stunning beauty.
All images captured using my Nikon 7100 and a Tokina 11-16 wide angle lens. I use a cable release and a Vanguard Alta series 70 tripod for maximum stability on all shots. Filters and Polariser used Formatt Hi Tech

Resident of Norfolk Island Dot Salt was born on Norfolk Island in 1933 and passed away in
2011,
We were lucky to visit Norfolk Island on the P&O cruise ship the Pacific Jewel on the 16th October 2011; we meet up with Dot and her family, who provided us with the warmest and heartfelt welcome for which Norfolk Island is well known for.
Dot and her family are descendents of the mutiny on the Bounty which was a mutiny that occurred aboard the British Royal Navy ship HMS Bounty on 28 April 1789
The mutiny was led by Fletcher Christian against the commanding officer, William Bligh. According to most accounts, the sailors were attracted to the idyllic life on the Pacific island of Tahiti and repelled by the harsh treatment from their captain.
Eighteen mutineers set Lieutenant Bligh and 18 of the 22 crew loyal to him afloat in a small boat. Mutineers then settled on Pitcairn Island or in Tahiti. The Bounty was subsequently burned off Pitcairn Island to avoid detection and to prevent desertion. Descendants of some of the mutineers and Tahitians still live on Pitcairn Island.
After Bligh and his crew of 18 made an epic and eventful journey in the small boat to Timor in the Dutch East Indies, he returned to England and reported the mutiny, later many of the residents moved from Pitcairn Island to Norfolk Island

Norfolk Island Duplex Ghost Voice (at about 1min 10secs). ‘Sit down red(?)’ no one else in room. Didn’t hear voice at time, only later on replay. Went back next night. Cap lamp failed when I walked into that room. Couldn’t find fault. Worked as per normal when we returned to our motel. Recorded as well. Full recordings on iPhone. Recorded Foundation Day Norfolk Island 6th March 2019 @ 7.32pm whilst on a Baunti Tour. Recorded in unrestored heritage duplex closest to cemetery and golf club, in the rear right hand building... the old servants quarters.
