1/ Sovereign Hill
Without a doubt the number one tourist attraction in Ballarat is Sovereign Hill. It has been voted Australia’s best ‘Major Tourist Attraction’ multiple times. A theme park set back as an 1850’s gold mining town. Learn to pan for gold in a replica river. Go underground on some the gold mining tours. Watch people preforming chores dressed in period costumes. See how they make candy the old way. Some other popular attractions at Sovereign Hill include the Red Coat Soldiers musket firing, horse and coach rides, bowling, candle making, getting and old photo taken and other street activities. A great place to take the whole family - a great educational experience for kids to learn about history.
During Winter Sovereign Hill has its Winter Wonderlights Festival. This is a specular light show – that for me is a must do in Ballarat. The lights and snow effects make this truly a wonderful show to experience. During the festival they decorate Main Street shops with Christmas decorates, have a band playing Christmas Carols and you might even see Santa. One of the best Christmas in July events in Australia! A must for the family!

4K The Floral Tram and The Ballarat Tramway Museum
English - The Ballarat Tramway Museum is located around Lake Wendouree in Ballarat which is 110km west of Melbourne. The Ballarat system opened in 1887 and closed in 1971.
The current museum opened to public passengers in December 1974.
In this video you will see various trams that used to run on the Ballarat system and a number of trams directly brought up from The MMTB in Melbourne. We also take a look around the museum.
The purpose of the visit was to see the Floral Tram which was launched on the day I visited the museum. The Floral Tram is made of recycled plastic bottles and other recycled material.
Sadly a week or so later at The Begonia Festival, The Floral Tram was involved in an accident with a car and will probably never run again.

The tram leaves our Carlton St terminus and travels through to the north terminus of St Aidans Drive in Wendouree Parade Ballarat, Victoria. Although a quiet day, it shows the track the Museum operates on. The roadway around the Depot Junction has since been rebuilt to provide a safer path for cyclists using Wendouree Parade.
Sydney Tramway Museum - Ballarat Tramways N 37
Ballarat Tramways 37 is seen between The Railway Square waiting shed and the Army Level crossing.
I am actually not too sure of the exact date that this was built but I know that it was somewhere in the 1910s. This tram was retired in 1972.
This tram was recently overhauled (~2016)
This tram has a similar interior to most historic Melbourne trams which is divided into three sections.
Apologies I don't know much about this tram however I will add more information as I find it.

Ballarat, Victoria
Ballarat is a small city located about 90km west of Melbourne. After gold was discovered in the 1850s, towns like Ballarat sprung up. The many grand Victorian buildings showcase the sheer wealth pouring into the state at the time.
BALLARAT VICTORIA AUSTRALIA AA
The site of the city was originally a stock station established by William Cross Yuille and Henry Anderson in 1838 and named Ballarat (originally under the spelling Ballaarat), which was derived from local aboriginal dialect meaning 'resting place'. Settlement flourished in the early 1850s when gold was discovered. With a huge influx of population and wealth as a major participant in the Gold Rush, Ballarat was, for a time, Victoria's largest city. During the last 50 years of the 19th century Ballarat prospered on gold mining. The confidence of the city's early citizens is evident in the scale and opulence of many of the early public buildings, public recreational spaces, commercial establishments and housing. The period from the 1880's to the early 20th century witnessed a successful transition from a gold rush town to an industrial age city. WIKIPEDIA
