Cette tour, située sur la plage de Ballinskelligs en Irlande, aurait été construite au XVIe siècle par McCarthy Mór afin de protéger la baie contre les pirates.
Elle est situé sur une isthme reliée à la baie de Ballinskellings par un petit pont piétonnier. La visite est courte mais agréable. Un petit escalier en pierre monte jusqu'au sommet de la tour.
Le point de vue est exceptionnel du haut de cette tour. Nous avons une magnifique vue de la baie de Ballinskelligs avec sa plage de sable blanc et ses eaux turquoises.

Meet three of our host farmers involved in Kerry Social Farming (KSF).
Mary Healy, Ballyduff North Kerry is one of our new host farms 2018.
Dessy Cronin, Ballinskelligs in operation since 2015 (also features Christy & Mary McDonnell's host farm in Kells, Co. Kerry).
George Kelly Beaufort Mid-Kerry, one of our first host farmers in operation since 2013.
This video shows how KSF supports people with a variety of different needs and the hands on collaboration that makes this happen ie the cooperation between KSF facilitator (post funded by DAFM), farmer, participants and their families, and the collaborative support of our partner service providers frontline staff ( this video features farms that are linked with collaborative support from Kerry Parents & Friends Association and St John of God Kerry Services (SJOG)).
Kerry Social Farming (KSF) enables people with disabilities (participants) in rural communities avail of social farming opportunities in local ordinary farms around County Kerry. With KSF, the host farmers offer their time on a voluntary basis to support participants engage with activities on the farm. The farm remains a working farm and the farmer is fully support with hands on support and financial support to fund any farm improvements required for benefit of the participant (especially regarding health & safety improvements).

Ballinskelligs Castle, located on a small peninsula at Iveragh Peninsula in Kerry, Ireland. Also known as McCarthy Mór Castle. It is in fact a Tower House and was built in the 16th century by McCarthy Mór. It is thought that it's purpose was twofold. Firstly to protect the bay from pirates and also from which to charge a tariff on incoming trade ships.

Située sur l'Anneau de Skellig (Skellig Ring), on peut facilement s'y rendre en voiture ou à pied par la plage à partir du stationnement de la plage de Ballinskelligs.
Cette abbaye aurait été fondée au XIIe siècle par des moines ayant abandonné Skellig Michael après avoir subi de nombreuses attaques de la part des Vikings.
Certaines parties du cloître et d'une grande salle domestique sont toujours visibles.
Cet endroit est un des nombreux sites spirituels importants de cette région dédiés à Saint-Michel.
Son emplacement offre une superbe vue du château et de la baie de Ballinskelligs en arrière-plan.
