Flavours of Mudgee 2013
After the unprecedented success of the inaugural event in 2012, Mid-Western Regional Council has confirmed that the Flavours of Mudgee street festival will become an annual event, scheduled for Saturday 28 September this year.
Alayna Gleeson, Mid-Western Regional Council Events Coordinator says that the event proved to be overwhelmingly popular with locals and visitors.
Council identified a gap in the promotion of this Region and this event fills that gap perfectly.
Flavours of Mudgee showcases the best of what our Region has to offer, delivers an amazing experience to visitors, generates tourism for the Region, and offers local businesses a real opportunity to sell their product and promote their brand, Mrs Gleeson said.
This event has become a cornerstone of the Mudgee Wine & Food Festival after just one year, and local interest has shown that this is a crucial addition to the Council event calendar, Mrs Gleeson said.
The focus of this year's event will again be on local wine, food and produce. Council is now calling for expressions of interest from stallholders who would like to be involved in the event.
Again, Flavours of Mudgee will be held on Market Street between Church and Perry Streets, and there will be road closures to cater for the crowds and stalls.
We already have nearly twenty stall holders confirmed which is a huge response. There is only space for fifty so we are asking that those interested go to flavoursofmudgee.com.au for an application soon, Mrs Gleeson said.
The 2013 Mudgee Wine & Food Festival runs from 13 -- 29 September, culminating with the Flavours of Mudgee street festival on September 28. Market Street will be closed from 2pm to 9pm on the day, while the festival will run from 4pm to 8pm.
Council will promote the event to visitors from outside the Region with encouragement to attend the event, have dinner in the street, enjoy live music and entertainment, and then go on to visit their favourite wineries and producers who were at the event.
This event is the best example of experiential marketing of our Region. It provides a live experience with the perfect combination of food, wine and interactive entertainment, Mr Gleeson said.
We have a few fantastic entertainment options on the table now, but we are still open to expressions of interest from local entertainers who think they would add that special something to the event.
As the event will be held in the Mudgee CBD, local businesses are invited to extend their trading hours and benefit from the crowd of potential shoppers outside their door.
To stay updated with developments as the event draws closer, go to flavoursofmudgee.com.au or follow Flavours of Mudgee on Facebook and Twitter.

New Years Eve Fireworks at Mudgee, New South Wales, Australia, 2013
Evening sponsored by Parklands Resort, Ulan Road Mudgee.
A great family night with about 1,500 people attending.
Fantastic weather, and a great pyrotechnics show.
NO SMOKE from the fire works, unlike the NYE smoke show in Sydney this year.
Big thanks to Parklands for putting on the show.
