castles of Ireland-and little drone shots to help
castles of Ireland-and little drone shots in ferns County Wexford Ireland this castle was built in the 12th century it can be found in the little town of ferns County Wexford travelling South from Dublin for about an hour and 10 minutes.
this was the gateway into Ireland for the Norman's, they were invited in by the high king of Leinster Dermot mac murrough ,
my namesake by the way.
so after 1169 AC.when the Norman's helped out the High King to secure his power in Leinster never went back to England,a must see Ashford castle lodge
hence the English stayed in Ireland for 800 years he eventually got kicked out in 1922 after the Easter rising in 1916.
so the old hiking Dermot mac murrough only last another two years after getting stabbed to death in his tent,
so thankfully for me, not many people know all that time ago he let the English into Ireland,
by the way, he was cute enough he married his daughter off to The Warlord of the time Strongbow he was eventually buried in Christchurch Cathedral in Dublin in a big sarcophagus that sounds a bit Egyptian a fancy tomb.
by the way, if there are any spelling mistakes in this I'm just too lazy to go back and fix them.

WE STAYED IN OUR OWN CASTLE
We hoped on a plane and flew over to Ireland. Then we drove past a little town called Drogheda and up this long narrow driveway up to our own castle. It's not a full castle but it's the tower of a castle called the Drummond Tower and it was built in 1858.
Well it definitely wasn't a luxury castle like these but it was pretty awesome:
