W.B. Yeats 1
Joan reading two W.B. Yeats poems in Co. Sligo, 28th Aug 19. Last ditch attempt to have a trip away turned into a night (under Gestapo lights like WWII Colditz war prisoners camp, not recommended) and one day pilgrimage of W. B Yeats. Reading a poem at his grave at Drumcliff. Taking in a rather bizarre tour of Lissadell House, where the guide acted that she was infact Eva Gore-Booth. W.B. Yeats use to visit this house. Lots of fecking Rain. Lovely.
Opening Thoor Ballylee, Co Galway
Colm Farrell arrived on horse, and read one of Yeat's Poem's , Wandering Aengus
I WENT out to the hazel wood,
Because a fire was in my head,
And cut and peeled a hazel wand,
And hooked a berry to a thread;
And when white moths were on the wing,
And moth-like stars were flickering out,
I dropped the berry in a stream
And caught a little silver trout.
When I had laid it on the floor
I went to blow the fire aflame,
But something rustled on the floor,
And some one called me by my name:
It had become a glimmering girl
With apple blossom in her hair
Who called me by my name and ran
And faded through the brightening air.
Though I am old with wandering
Through hollow lands and hilly lands.
I will find out where she has gone,
And kiss her lips and take her hands;
And walk among long dappled grass,
And pluck till time and times are done
The silver apples of the moon,
The golden apples of the sun.

Episode 3: I start Day 2 at the Windmill Tower in Kinvara and then head to Dunguaire Castle. Next to the ruins of Ardrahan Castle and then to Thoor Ballylee (where W. B. Yeats lived). Then to the city of Athenry to visit Athenry Castle and to start exploring the town.
In 2003 armed with a very cheap DV camcorder, no tripod, no mics and no crew I traveled to Ireland to explore the country. The expedition was a huge success -- 93 castles, 1,800 miles, and 120 rolls of film in 14 days!

In the Footsteps of W B Yeats at Coole Park and Ballylee Book Trailer
-- If you feel a deep spiritual connection with the mystical lands of Ireland, or you simply sense the enchantment of the words of Ireland's famed Nobel Prize-winning Poet, William Butler Yeats, you'll enjoy this fourth volume in the Mystical Moods of Ireland series: In the Footsteps of W. B. Yeats at Coole Park and Ballylee, capturing the moods of two of the literary icon's favorite places -- and sources of inspiration -- in County Galway, Ireland.
For more than 30 summers, Yeats sought refuge at Coole Park and in his 15th Century Norman castle, Thoor Ballylee, from the social, cultural and political upheaval of late 19th and early 20th Century Ireland.
The perfect accompaniment to any collection of Yeats' works, these stunning images will take you along on your own visual journey In the Seven Woods, immortalized in his 1903 collection of the same name, and to his iconic Tower with its Winding Stair, both featured in his later writings.
You'll certainly see why he once described the area around Coole Park and Ballylee to a friend with these words:
Everything is so beautiful that to go elsewhere is to leave beauty behind.
Let this book and these images be your refuge as well, as you experience and feel the natural and other-worldly beauty that inspired one of the greatest literary minds of our time.
