Baluarte De San Diego is one of the beautiful tourist spots in Intramuros, Manila. Its fantastic landscape design makes it not just a tourist attraction, but also a perfect venue for wedding receptions, birthday parties, or other gathering location. It can also be added as part of an educational field trip as the students can also learn more about the history of Intramuros here during the time of WWII. Aside from the preserved World War 2 weaponry and restored old structures, this Baluarte also housed a beautiful garden where you can find various bonsai species, flowering plants, and trees.

San Diego Gardens is a pretty nice area, they also allow this place to be rented out for private occasions. Baluarte De San Diego is a very interesting remains of a fort that is along the wall. Has a lot of history too it!

Baluarte de San Diego Travelogue
Baluarte de San Diego has undergone a number of repairs and restorations over the years. The baluarte was breached and fell from the British forces in 1762. It was restored after the occupation only to fall again in 1863 due to earthquake. Then in 1945, it was destroyed once more from the Battle of Manila. Latest restoration work of the fort was completed in 1992.

Baluarte de San Diego Gardens beside Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila at Sta. Lucia Street in Intramuros, Manila is a huge, lovely park. It used to be a drowning chamber, dungeon, fortress, bastion built from 1591 to 1594 during the Spanish regime. It is now a garden with entrance fee of 75 Pesos for adults and 50 Pesos for students.

A bastion in Intramuros, part of the Spanish colonial fortification in the walled city of Manila in the Philippines.
Baluarte de San Diego dates from the end of the 16th century, when it was constructed by a Jesuit priest, Antonio Sedeno. Originally named Nuestra Senora de Guia (Our Lady of Guidance), the bastion was primarily designed to repel invasion. Its sturdy structure is testament to its purpose and has helped it to survive wars, earthquakes and the ravages of time. During the 1980s it was substantially restored and today is a popular tourist attraction.
