Bamboo Next Chiang Rai - 1 day tour
I have been going to the Bamboo Nest outside of Chiang Rai for the past 7 years. It is a wonderful place to relax and take in the scenery. This short clip is from a one day tour in a 4X4 with Noi. Noi is a great person and knows so much about the land and plants around. If you travel to Chiang Rai and have some time, I would recommend this lovely peaceful place. Thank you to Gramy Gold for the music. จีบแล้วบ่ขอ - ต่าย อรทัย 【OFFICIAL MV】. I hope they let me use it.
CHIANG RAI IN 1 DAY
We did everything in Chiang Rai in one day! If you're planning on doing a Chiang Rai day trip, this is the video you need to watch! We went to the white temple, blue temple, and black house! This has to have been the most BEAUTIFUL set of temples we have ever laid eyes on! We did a Chiang Rai Temple Tour and visited the white temple, blue temple, and the black house and could not have had a better day. The white temple was something out of a storybook! When we pulled up to it and the blue temple (later in the day), they almost looked fake from how detailed and grandiose they were. My mind is still blown!
As always thank you so much for watching!

About Us!
If you had told me a year ago that we were going to sell all of our stuff to start backpacking the world, I would have called you a liar. Decisions like the one we made start with an inflection point. A point where you realize that life can never be the same anymore. After a challenging, and painful year in 2017, we decided we needed to go out and live the life we wanted to live, instead of watching it on someone else’s YouTube Channel. We had given everything we had, physically and emotionally, for other’s dreams and were ready to work that hard for ourselves. From rock bottom, Chase for Adventure was born.
The Chase Begins
We moved in with our parents, sold everything we own including our cars, and paid off $70,000 worth of debt. We worked 70hrs/week over the last year trying to save up $15,000 to make our dreams come true. Now, we are travel journalists who showcase the beauty in different cultures and inspire others to chase their dreams through our YouTube Channel and website Chase for Adventure. We want to show others that if they want something bad enough, they’ll figure out how to get it; show people who are struggling that they can make the light at the end of their tunnel. Chase for Adventure is more than just a travel vlog and blog; it’s the chronicles of what it’s like to have a dream and do whatever it takes to attain it.

In this episode we take you to northern Thailand to the city of Chiang Rai. We start off by visiting one of the most famous temples in all of Thailand, Wat Phra Kaew also known at the Bamboo Forest Temple. The emerald Buddha was housed here in the 12th century before moving around South East Asia and finally making its way home to the Grand Palace in Bangkok.
Next up we visit Wat Rong Khun aka the White Temple! It is located 13 km’s south of Chiang Rai and it's a must visit. It is owned by Chalermchai Kositpipat, who designed, constructed, and opened it to visitors in 1997. It is open all year round and admission is free.
At night you must visit Chiang Rai's night bazaar. Here you can buy dvd's, clothing and goods from the local hill tribes. It's the perfect place to have dinner, and we recommend skipping the restaurant and eating at the food court. If you’re the adventurous type, try some crickets and worms like we did!
The next location we visit is the hill tribe villages about 25 minutes drive north of Chiang Rai. Here you will visit five different hill tribes, the most famous tribe is the Karen long-neck hill tribe. You will hear music, dance and interact with the tribes. You can also buy souvenirs for friends and family back home.
And lastly we visit the Saturday Night Walking Street. It's a night bazaar that is way bigger then the night bazaar and has over a hundred different foods stalls. I recommend coming early and seeing all the food before making a final decision on what to eat. The food was out of this world and I recommend you try northern Thailand's most popular dish Khao Soi. It's a mild coconut based curry served over soft egg noodles and topped and topped with crisp egg noodles. Its delicious!
So that was David's list of 5 things to do in Chiang Rai, Northern Thailand.

20 HOUR BUS FROM LAOS TO THAILAND (Nong Khiaw to Chiang Rai)
Today we made the LONG journey from Nong Khiaw in Laos to Chiang Rai in Northern Thailand.
First things first, we grabbed some delicious Laos food, then we hopped on a Tuk Tuk which took us to the bus station in the next town. Then we took a very long minibus ride, slept overnight in a Laos bus station, then took a final bus which got us across the border and into Thailand.

MUST DO IN CHIANG MAI - Authentic Northern Thailand Hill Tribe
A must do in Chiang Mai is this 100% authentic Northern Thailand Hill Tribe tour. Unlike other things to do in Chiang Mai, this is well off the tourist radar. Watch us explore native Thai villages, cook, and eat exotic Thai food with the locals of Northern Thailand.
Many tour companies in Chiang Mai offer a “hill tribe tour”, only to take you to a contrived Thai village that only exists to serve tourists. What Thailand Hilltribe Holidays does, is offer you a 100% authentic Northern Thailand Hill Tribe tour without any other tourists with you. We were taken to two villages: the Karen Hill Tribe and Hmong Hill Tribe.
* Book this tour with Thailand Hilltribe Holidays:
First was the Karen Hill Tribe in Northern Thailand where we were able to meet a village family and cook with them. Being able to cook with a hill tribe family was one of the most unique experiences in Thailand we have had in all 4 months here! The main dishes were sticky rice cooked inside of bamboo and a mix of curries, however we were able to try some exotic Thai food when they served frog soup! Watch and see how Ryan got tricked into eating this… haha!
The next stop on our Hill Tribe Village tour was the Hmong Hill Tribe village, also located in Northern Thailand inside of Doi Suthep National Park. The Hmong village was more advanced than the Karen, and quite resembled a traditional Thai village you might have seen a decade ago. Since so many people travel Thailand each year, it’s becoming more difficult to find the “local Thailand” visitors crave to see. We can guarantee you by taking this tour, you will have a one of a kind, unforgettable experience.
* Want to learn more about this authentic Thailand Hill Tribe tour? Read our blog here:
If you’re wondering what to do in Chiang Mai but don’t want to hit up the popular tourist spots, then this authentic Northern Thailand Hill Tribe tour is for you. It took us a lot of research to find this experience, since it’s not on any of the Chiang Mai to do lists you find online. We hope by watching this video you were able to get an inside look into life for a local Thailand hill tribe and are inspired to take a hill tribe tour yourself!
If you have any questions about this must do in Chiang Mai, how to travel Thailand, or the best things to do in Chiang Mai, feel free to leave a comment down below. We also have a huge list of Thailand travel vlogs you can watch to help plan your trip to Northern Thailand, Bangkok, Krabi, Phuket, or Chiang Mai.
* We’re Ryan & Stacia from DeathbyVlog. Unlike other travel vloggers, we live and work in a different country each month with a moderate housing budget. Sorry, but no backpacker lifestyle here! Our channel will show you what it’s like to live abroad while exploring top tourist destinations and hidden gems. We will show you mouthwatering local food tours, provide history on each destination, and cinematic broll for all of you film lovers. Each month we rent an apartment or airbnb in a different city or country, so follow along on this journey and learn about countries around the world. We hope you enjoy our travel vlog, don’t forget to subscribe!

Tao Chiangrai Tour ( Bamboo instruments )
Akha Swing Festival In Chiang Rai, Thailand
Mountain tribes in northern Thailand celebrate their freedom - with an entertaining swing festival. The Akha people were once native to China before being being conquered by rival factions and forced to flee to Burma in therapy 1900s. Following decades of struggle many of them settled in the mountainous Chiang Rai province. The group - which has more than 40,000 living in the region - now celebrate their freedom once a year with a colourful swinging and dance festival. Footage from the Akha Swing Festival on Sunday (08/09) shows villagers soaring into the sky on a rope swing suspended from 30ft high bamboo poles. Women in hand-woven costumes and brightly decorated hats are pulled on the rope while the men-folk are able to use their strength to propel themselves and whiz back and fourth. The symbolic act celebrates throwing off the bonds of constraint and is also the tribe's new year celebrations, in line with the peak of the rainy season.
