We check out the Full Moon Party Beach when the party isn't on, and we are pleasantly surprised by Koh Phangan. It actually looks nice in the light of day and has quite a comprehensive clean up crew. But that isn't what really surprised us about Koh Phangan. The real surprise is how much we liked it in general, it has a very laid back feel, but also has everything you want from a holiday destination. The highlight of the day was visiting Had Thong Nai Pan Yai beach on the north side of the island and sitting down for a delicious Seafood lunch with Eden the dog. We then top off the day with apple crumble at our favourite coffee shop 100 islands coffee bar in Ban Tai.
Overall we loved Koh Phangan :-)

DAY 64 - TRAVELLING TO KOH PHANGAN

DAY 64 - TRAVELLING TO KOH PHANGAN // 13.12.2016

So the boat journey from Koh Samui to Koh Phangan took only 1 hour and it was full with easy going travellers, who were all in anticipation of the full moon party.

There was talk about a jungle party happening this evening. It was the first that we had heard about it so was curious for a while. However when learning that the tickets cost £13, we decided to give it a miss and stay at our amazing hotel situated by the Baan Tai beach.

Which brings us on to 'First Villa Resort'. In all of our time travelling, we have NEVER stayed in such a friendly place. As soon as you arrive, you are welcomed with a drink and a cheeky sense of humour from Bobo (the face of the resort). She is hilarious and the things she can do with a paint brush and neon will astound you, so please come back on our next vlogg to see that.

If anyone else makes it to Koh Phangan - we highly recommend staying here. Especially solo travellers. You will instantaneously become part of the First Villa family and if that's not enough; the resort is in the best location. Only 20 mins from Haad Rin, where the full moon party will leave you breathless. More on that tomorrow :). See you there

Haad Rin Beach- Ko Pha Ngan -Thailand 2015

Wikipedia :Hat Rin, Thai pronunciation: [hàːt rín]) is a peninsular beach area and town on the southern tip of Ko Pha Ngan, an island in the Gulf of Thailand. Its two main beaches are Sunset Beach (Haad Rin Nai) to the south and the larger Sunrise Beach (Haad Rin Nok) to the north. The famous Full Moon Party takes place on Sunrise Beach each month.

The town and beach first became popular with backpackers escaping the tourist influx to Ko Samui in the 1980s. As the popularity of the beach and Full Moon Party have increased, the town has grown to accommodate the new visitors. The town is centred on Chicken Corner, a crossroads and popular meeting spot.

Koh Tao Thailand

Ko Tao is an island in Thailand located near the eastern shore of the Gulf of Thailand. It covers an area of about 21 km². Administratively it forms a tambon within the district (Amphoe) Ko Pha Ngan of Surat Thani Province. As of 2006 its official population number is 1382[1]. The main settlement is Ban Mae Hat.

The economy of the island is almost exclusively centered around tourism, especially scuba diving.

Ko Tao was named by its first settlers for the island's turtle-like geographic shape.[citation needed] Coincidentally, the island is an important breeding ground for Hawksbill turtles and Green turtles. Development of tourism has negatively impacted the health of these grounds but a breeding program organised in 2004 by the Royal Thai Navy and KT-DOC, a coalition of local scuba diving centres has reintroduced hundreds of juvenile turtles to the island's ecosystem.
