Making banana chips with Soksabike Tour near Battambang, Cambodia
I took a half day bike tour with Soksabike in Battambang. We biked out into the country side and got a proper cultural experience learning how rice paper, banana chips, rice wine, and fish paste are made. We also visited a memorial to the 10,000 who died at the hands of the Khmer Rouge. All in all, an educational and exciting tour.

Maisons Wat Kor - Sustainable Cambodian Travel
Just outside of downtown Battambang, Cambodia, is a small (10 rooms) resort that provides the opportunity to slow down and enjoy your surroundings. It's close enough to town to visit all the local attractions, but far enough away that you can fall asleep by the pool to sounds of Buddhist chanting at the nearby Wat Kor.

About Battambang:
Battambang is the capital city of Battambang province in northwestern Cambodia.
Founded in the 11th century by the Khmer Empire, Battambang is the leading rice-producing province of the country. For nearly 100 years it was a major commercial hub and provincial capital of Siamese province of Inner Cambodia (1795-1907), though it was always populated by Khmer, with some ethnic Vietnamese, Lao, Thai and Chinese. Battambang remains the hub of Cambodia's northwest, connecting the region with Phnom Penh and Thailand.
The city is situated on the Sangkae River, a tranquil, small body of water that winds its way picturesquely through Battambang Province. As with much of Cambodia, French Colonial architecture is a notable aspect of the city, with some of the best-preserved examples in the country.

Bamboo Train at Battambang Province in Cambodia
Have you ever been on this bamboo train? it's an awesome trip at Battambang province in Cambodia. We call it a bamboo train for foreigners and Lory for Khmer when they have the bamboo on 4 wheels and a boat machine to make it move. One bamboo train can bring only 4 big guys or 3 big guys 2 small kids. the price for Khmer is 50,000 Riel (US$ 12.50)for return trip about 7kilometers. We bargained them as we have lots of people and we need 2 bamboo trains. We paid them 40,000 Riel (US$ 10) each bamboo train. That was a great experience to travel on a bamboo train. It was so much fun.
Your support is a huge encouragement for me as a Khmer to continue sharing the tourist attraction places in Cambodia to all Khmer and the World and bring more tourists to Cambodia.

Good Morning from Teuk Sok Village at Samlot District, Battambang Province
A night of tent camping at grandparents's home at Teuk Sok village, Ta Taok Commune, Samlot District, Battambang Province at the border of Cambodia & Thailand brought us lot of memories and fun. I got up very early in the morning, it was so cold and I can't see a thing. I really need a restroom but there's no restroom or wc. I heard that there's still landmines on the field so I can't just walk around when I can't see anything out there. I can only hear the sound effect of bugs, birds, and jungle animals. A little later, it's a beautiful sunshine, we all got up and walked to the plantation behind grandparent's home to pick some fruits. It's a big plantation having bananas, mangos, jack-fruits, June plums, sugarcanes, papayas and many other fruits. We just pick, pick, pick but don't know if we can bring them all back home. It's a beautiful morning and it was so much fun.

BATS. / Battambang, Cambodia / August, 2015
As the sun descends over Battambang, Cambodia, a cave housing millions of fruit bats begins to stir. First, you hear them. Then, you see them flying in circles -- but not leaving the cave. Finally, an exodus.
A non-stop stream of fruit bats emerges from the cave and begins its collective journey to find ALL OF THE FRUIT. It is an amazing site — I couldn’t get enough. While most onlookers had enough after 5 or 10 minutes, I was there until it was too dark to really see anything. Something about it was mesmerizing to me. So. Many. Bats.

THIS IS HOW PEOPLE MAKE MONEY | BATTAMBANG, CAMBODIA
Ever wondered how the countryside of Cambodia looks like? How people live and work there?
I got the chance to stroll around the rural parts of Battambang, Cambodia. I got to see people make rice paper, dried bananas and putting together handmade mats.
After that I went to Jaan Bai, a really nice restaurant which supports the Cambodian Youth.

Breakfast Grilled Pork with Rice at Soheu High in Krong Battambang Cambodia
We got up at Capital Battambang Hotel in Krong Battambang. We traveled along Stung Sangke river to Soheu high school. We had breakfast outside the gate and fench of Soheu high school as they serve grilled pork rice with egg. It's a very popular breakfast in the morning at Battambang. There are 3 - 4 food vendors is inside the school but their tables and chairs prepare outside the fench. When customers order foods, they prepare from inside, then hand over the fench to customers outside. It's 3500riel breakfast and a great memory reminded us from a high school life breakfast. We also tried a deep fry fish with flour next to the breakfast stalls in front of Soheu high school in Battambang.
