The long wait to enter the temple of Shiva in Varanasi
Maha Shivratri is a Hindu festival celebrated every year in reverence of Lord Shiva. It is also known as padmarajarathri. Shivaratri literally means the great night of Shiva or the night of Shiva. It is celebrated every year on the 13th night/14th day of the Maagha month of the Hindu calendar. Celebrated in the dark fortnight or Krishna Paksha(waning moon) of the month of Maagha according to the Shalivahana or Gujarati Vikrama or Phalguna according to the Vikrama era.The festival is principally celebrated by offerings of Bael or Bilva/Vilvam leaves to Lord Shiva, all-day fasting and an all-night-long vigil. All through the day the devotees, chant the sacred Panchakshara mantra dedicated to Lord Om Namah Shivaya. In accordance with scriptural and discipleship traditions, penances are performed in order to gain boons in the practice of Yoga and meditation, in order to reach life's summum bonum steadily and swiftly.
Since Varanasi is considered the city of Lord Shiva, Mahashivaratri festival holds immense importance here. Mahashivaratri (the great night of Shiva) falls on the fourteenth day of the dark fortnight of Phalguna (February/March) and is dedicated to the worship of Lord Shiva. Mahashivaratri festival is purely religious in nature and observed by all Hindus. On the occasion of Mahashivaratri, all Shiva temples of Varanasi are tastefully decorated. On the day Of Mahashivaratri, a marriage procession of Lord Shiva is taken out starting from Mahamrityunjaya Temple, Daranagar to Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
In Varanasi, people visit nearby temples of Shiva and offer prayers in large numbers. The prayers and worship continue late into the night. On Mahashivaratri, devotees offer milk, Bhang, Dhatura, flowers, coconut, fruits etc to Shiva statues and Shiva Lingams and sing bhajans in honor of Shiva. They also recite shlokas (verses) from scriptures, offer prayers in the morning and evening and many devotees observe fasting throughout the day. On the day of Mahashivaratri, the main center of religious activity and worship at Varanasi is the Kashi Vishvanath temple, where devotees throng in large numbers to offer prayers to the residing deity of Varanasi, Lord Shiva.
Varanasi, or Benaras, (also known as Kashi) is one of the oldest living cities in the world. Varanasi`s Prominence in Hindu mythology is virtually unrevealed. Mark Twain, the English author and literature, who was enthralled by the legend and sanctity of Benaras, once wrote: Benaras is older than history, older than tradition, older even than legend and looks twice as old as all of them put together . According to the 'Vamana Purana', the Varuna and the Assi rivers originated from the body of the primordial Person at the beginning of time itself. The tract of land lying between them is believed to be 'Varanasi', the holiest of all pilgrimages. The word 'Kashi' originated from the word 'Kas' which means to shine. Steeped in tradition and mythological legacy, Kashi is the 'original ground ' created by Shiva and Parvati, upon which they stood at the beginning of time. Varanasi is the microcosm of Hinduism, a city of traditional classical culture, glorified by myth and legend and sanctified by religion, it has always attracted a large number of pilgrims and worshipers from time immemorial.

Alcyon Pleiades 81: English colonialism, India, Vimanas, Cosmogony, Taj Mahal, Hindu temple
First and foremost, we have to become aware of the regrettable fact that our vast history and ancestral traditions have been maliciously adapted and distorted so that we will not learn the truth about many things.
In this documentary, we emphasise how the hegemonic Anglo-Saxon power mercilessly established itself in the British Isles, taking over territories that did not belong to them. Their imperialist domination spread, until they subjugated America and Canada, as well as regions in Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Oceania, not to mention numerous islands in the Atlantic or Indian oceans. In their thirst for domination, they provoked wars all over Europe, in order to seize territories in each of the world’s continents. Because they were certain no one would discover their presence, they created poverty and generated pain throughout the world, whilst amassing sizable wealth for themselves.
In much the same way, the British Empire colonised India—a people who had inherited vast wealth from their ancestors, until the people, led by Mahatma Gandhi, were able to free themselves from the Anglo Saxon yoke that had ruled over them for more than two centuries, leaving a trail of millions of deaths and the devastated subcontinent in ruins.
Despite this fact, it is important to know that the ancient Hindu culture comprises vast metaphysical, cosmogonic, technological and architectural knowledge. The gods Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, accompanied by their consorts Saraswati, Lakshmi and Shakti, guided their people for many years, engendering a highly advanced civilisation whose buildings, temples and city-palaces were constructed using techniques that are unimaginable today. They also travelled the skies using extremely powerful flying objects known as Vimanas… leaving behind considerable evidence that bears witness to aerospace technology, developed thousands of years ago.
In Part III of this interesting documentary, we discuss the true history of the famed TAJ MAHAL. A substantial amount of carefully verified evidence proves that the Taj Mahal is not a tomb, as we have been led to believe. Rather, it is a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Shiva Mahadeva… because we have to understand that not all narratives presented by mainstream sources are true.

In his fierce aspects, he is often depicted slaying demons. Shiva is also known as Adiyogi Shiva, regarded as the patron god of yoga, meditation and arts. The iconographical attributes of Shiva are the serpent around his neck, the adorning crescent moon, the holy river Ganga flowing from his matted hair, the third eye on his forehead, the trishula or trident, as his weapon, and the damaru drum. Sri M - 2nd Buddha at the Gas Pump Interview

Sri M - spiritual guide, social reformer and educationist – was born into a Muslim family on November 6, 1949 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. His transformational journey, from a young boy to a living yogi, is a fascinating story symbolized by single-minded discipline and dedication.
Entranced by mystical stories of Sufi saints and a brief encounter with a numinous Swami at a relatively young age, he was not only drawn to the ‘truth’ but also the compelling landscape of the snow-clad Himalayas. At the age of nine, his spiritual transformation was initiated by his future Master, Babaji (also known as Maheshwarnath Babaji), who miraculously appeared under a jackfruit tree in the compound of his house in Thiruvananthapuram. Though only fleeting, this meeting definitively set the stage for their future reunion in the Himalayas at Sri M’s age of nineteen.
The next three and half years, he lived and travelled extensively through the Himalayas with his Master. Maheshwarnath Babaji guided him right through his initiation, his Kundalini awakening, the grueling journey to Tholingmutt and, the eventual meeting with the Grand Master, Sri Guru Babaji also known as Sri Mahavatar Babaji.
A few years after his Master passed away, he received the spiritual go-ahead to commence his mission. In 1998, he started his teachings, eventually leading to formation of the Satsang Foundation.
In response to a query on the spiritual progress of a person and the path to that evolution, he responds, “Though, my parampara is kriya yoga, I don’t think it suits all aspirants. I propound satsang even between two people. It cuts across barriers of caste and creed. Spiritual evolution is not diverse from regular living. Intervals of solitude are necessary but you cannot shut yourself totally. The world around you is your touchstone to spiritual practice.” Conversant with teachings of most major religions, Sri M says: “Go to the core. Theories are of no use.” His message seeks to transcend the outer-shell of all religions, by exploring their mystical core to nurture the innate goodness in every human being.

Drink This Juice To Prevent and Treat Varicose Veins
We all know that there are no miracles when it comes to eliminating varicose veins. However, through good nutrition and exercise, we can reduce its incidence and avoid deep vein thrombosis (otherwise known as a blood clot).
If your varicose veins are at a very advanced stage, be sure to speak with your doctor immediately so that he can help you find the appropriate treatment for them.
But if they don’t yet require a doctor’s care, you should really know that this beet and parsley drink can be useful, whether you have simple superficial varicose veins or the deep ones.
Its benefits are exceptional and very specific: it helps improve the circulation in the legs, as well as the health of the veins. Varicose veins tend to occur because of a combination of genetics and lifestyle. However, there are many ways to prevent them or at least fight against them.
For example, if your mother suffers or has suffered from varicose veins, you need to consider this so you can either keep them from cropping up or getting worse.
Something as simple as avoiding a sedentary lifestyle and maintaining a diet rich in antioxidants, water, fresh fruits, and vegetables can help tremendously.
Among all these foods that you can consume in your everyday diet, there are two that you can’t leave out: beets and parsley. Not only will you see quick, overall health benefits through this natural drink, it’s very effective in fighting varicose veins.
Beets take care of our blood vessels.
If your legs have been feeling really heavy for several days, or if they are always tired and swollen, don’t hesitate to try this beet and parsley juice.
Because beet juice is rich in nitrates, it improves your circulation.
Natural beet juice is rich in nitrates, which open the blood vessels thanks to nitric oxide. This nitric oxide lets oxygen flow freely and lowers blood pressure.
In addition, this colorful root contains betaine, a powerful antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties that also has anti-fungal properties and works to detoxify the body.
The beet helps take care of the liver, giving priority to basic processes like the purification of the blood and the synthesis of certain hormones.
Also, don’t forget that the magnesium present in its pulp will greatly facilitate the correct blood circulation.
Parsley leaves contain two very powerful elements to reduce and treat our varicose veins: luteolin and vitamin C.
These two components act as great anti-inflammatory agents that, consumed regularly, will reduce the possibility of thrombosis, as well as alleviate the swelling and weight of the legs.
Parsley contains a large arsenal of antioxidants capable of purifying our body and maintaining blood circulation.
Parsley is rich in potassium, a mineral essential for regulating blood pressure and fighting hypertension.
Ingredients
- 1 beet
- 1 tablespoon of parsley (5 g)
- 1 glass of water (200 ml)
- The juice of ½ lemon
Preparation
Choose a medium, not overripe beet. The best way to benefit from its properties is to consume it fresh. You only have to wash it well, peel it and cut it into 4 pieces to make the process easier.
Then, thoroughly wash the parsley leaves. Although they have a very strong flavor, it is worth it to include them in this natural drink to reduce the incidence of varicose veins.
In the blender, just add the water, the lemon juice, the parsley and the beet.
Blend well until you get a smooth drink.
We recommend drinking this juice in the mornings, about three times a week. That way, our circulation and endurance will be improved, and we’ll start the day with more energy.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
Shiva (; Sanskrit: शिव, Śiva, lit. the auspicious one) is one of the principal deities of Hinduism. He is the Supreme Being within Shaivism, one of the major traditions within contemporary Hinduism.Shiva is known as the destroyer and the transformer within the Trimurti, the Hindu trinity that includes Brahma and Vishnu. In Shaivism tradition, Shiva is the Supreme being who creates, protects and transforms the universe. In the tradition of Hinduism called Shaktism, the Goddess, or Devi, is described as supreme, yet Shiva is revered along with Vishnu and Brahma. A goddess is stated to be the energy and creative power (Shakti) of each, with Parvati (Sati) the equal complementary partner of Shiva. He is one of the five equivalent deities in Panchayatana puja of the Smarta tradition of Hinduism.According to the Shaivism sect, the highest form of Shiva is formless, limitless, transcendent and unchanging absolute Brahman, and the primal Atman (soul, self) of the universe. There are many both benevolent and fearsome depictions of Shiva. In benevolent aspects, he is depicted as an omniscient Yogi who lives an ascetic life on Mount Kailash as well as a householder with wife Parvati and his two children, Ganesha and Kartikeya. He is usually worshipped in the aniconic form of Lingam. Shiva is a pan-Hindu deity, revered widely by Hindus, in India, Nepal and Sri Lanka

Jagapathi Babu & Meera JasmineJagapati Babu is on a stronger turf when he has a story that revolves around familial ties and sentiment. His father Murali Mohan dies leaving behind a secret -- a second family in debts, unmarried sister and a son Hari (Shashank) who is addicted to drugs. Jagapati takes on the responsibility to make a wastrel into a responsible person and when he is nearing his goal, the truth that Jagapati and Shashank are brothers is revealed and the latter is on a revenge-seeking trip.
That's not the end of the story. There is Meera (Meera Jasmine), a florist who falls in love with Jagapathi but their relationship is estranged as Jagapathi gives more importance to Shashank than her. Shashank's journey towards acceptance is not free of noble lessons and real people. Shayaji Shinde completes the picture, he lends a touch of villany and action to the family drama by using Shashank to score over his rival Jagapati, then alls well that ends well.
Jagapathi Babu Bangaru Babu just doesn't remind one of Rajashekar's Raja Babu, it has a theme that has been retold several times and the director dramatizes it with nothing to add except a certain wallowing in the existence of human depravity. A grandmother who doesn't want to give a share of the property to the step grand son, a mother who is resigned to her fate but wants to make peace with her husband's second family.
