Bangkok seemed like the best place to possibly take a food tour, eat loads of Thai food, explore the city, learn about Thailand and the other influences! Thai food is some of our fav in the world, but there are so many other influences on the food of Thailand and the popular dishes, it's a lot more than strictly Thai meals and Pad Thai.
This tour wasn't your typical Thai food tastings, it was so extensive, packed with hidden spots, small famous curry houses, family run businesses and popular dishes in Thailand that come from other cultures.
Safe to say there was enough food to last you 4 and a half days worth of eating haha.
Check out the various food tours A Chefs Tour have in Thailand, India, Malaysia, Colombia and more —,

Ko Boo Rod Zing opened nearly 50 years ago and the owner, Auntie Tang, is recognized as the first person to add perfectly poached eggs to Tom Yum noodles. Along with their addition of Thai chili, this has become the signature dish of Ko Boo Rod Zing, adored by locals and tourists alike.
????INGREDIENTS: 5 different kinds of noodles (customers can mix the noodles together), dumpling (optional), pork, pork meatballs, tom yum soup (chili powder, chili jam, peanuts, scallions, vinegar), 2 poached eggs.
????TOM YUM NOODLES: Soak the noodles in boiled water before removing and placing in a bowl. Add dumplings to the noodles and two poached eggs. Pour tom yum soup over everything and enjoy.
????PRICE: 1.67 USD/55 TBH for normal bowl | 1.97 USD/65 TBH for big bowl with all toppings
2. SRI MORAKOT: Khao Mo Daeng (Roasted pork belly with rice)

OPEN: 10:30AM - 6PM
Sri Morakot opened 50 years ago and remains a favorite lunch spot for locals to this day. Local tip, add the signature seasoning (pickle chili) for a slightly sweet and sour taste. It also brings more texture to Khao Mo Daeng.
????KHAO MO DAENG: Rice, pork belly, char siu meat, duck eggs, cucumber, Chinese sausage topped with condensed rich meat sauce (pork stock, garlic, starch, soy sauce, chilli, pepper and Chinese herbs)
????PRICE: 1.5 USD/50 TBH for small bowl | 3.64 USD/120 TBH for large bowl

ADDRESS: 313-315 Maha Chai Rd, Khwaeng Samran Rat, Khet Phra Nakhon, Bangkok 10200
OPEN: 5PM - 2AM
Thip Samai is synonymous with the best pad thai Bangkok has to offer. The Bangkok establishment has been a go-to spot for locals and tourists for 79 years and is on its third generation. They introduced the concept of using shrimp-head oil to stir-fry their noodles, giving them an orange hue, and then encasing the pad thai in a super-thin layer of omelet.
????PAD THAI SONG-KREUNG: A combination of various quality ingredients, including shrimp oil, fresh extra-size deep-sea prawns, and sliced squid. Then finely garnished with crabmeat and sliced raw mango, giving sour flavor instead of lime juice, before served on a special and gorgeous dish. In addition, you can choose to enjoy deliciousness from either Chan noodle or glass noodle.*
????PAD THAI WRAPPED IN OMELETTE: Stir-fried noodles, tofu, bean sprouts, dried shrimp, shrimp, onion, peanut, toppings (chives, lemon and chili)
????PRICE: Pad Thai Omelette: 2.73 USD/90 TBH | Pad Thai Song-Kreung: 9 USD/300 TBH

Thai Street Food: The ULTIMATE Chinatown Bangkok Tour (เยาวราช) - Bangkok Day 9
Chinatown Bangkok (เยาวราช) is one of the best Thai street food areas of Bangkok. Download your free Bangkok food guide here:
On Day 9 of this Bangkok travel guide video series (2 Weeks in Bangkok) we spent the entire day eating Thai food in Yaowarat (เยาวราช), which is Chinatown Bangkok. There are some seriously amazing dishes to eat!
1:20 Thai Haeng (ร้านไท้เฮง) Restaurant - To begin out Thai street food tour in Chinatown we started at a restaurant called Thai Haeng (ร้านไท้เฮง), and to specifically eat a dish called suki ruam mit haeng (สุกี้รวมมิตรแห้ง), which is Thai style suki, the dry version. It included napa cabbage, some other vegetables and a mix of seafood and meat, all stir fried with mung bean noodles. It had the most amazing smoky flavor, and was served with a Thai sauce made with fermented soy. We also had a plate of khao man gai (ข้าวมันไก่), which is Thai style chicken rice.
6:28 Sampeng Market (สำเพ็ง) - Along with Thai street food, one of the most famous things about Yaowarat (เยาวราช) is the shopping - both for food shopping and things shopping. Sampeng Market (สำเพ็ง) is a long market that occupies a walking road within Bangkok and you can find all sorts of random things within the market - especially buttons and textiles.
Eeia Saey (ร้านเอียะแซ) coffee shop and Kan Kee Namdaothong (ร้านคั้นกี่น้ำเต้าทอง) Chinese health drink - After finishing a little bit of shopping on this food tour, we stopped at two different places to get a drink. One of them is an old school Bangkok Chinatown heritage coffee shop, and then we had a bitter health beverage that was so intense it almost made me shiver. We then just quickly stopped off at Wat Leng Noi Yee (วัดเล่งเน่ยยี่), one of the most well known Chinese temples in Bangkok.
10:51 Khao Gaeng Jek Puey (ข้าวแกงเจ๊กปุ้ย) - I wasn’t actually planning on eating here on this day food tour in Bangkok, but after passing it, I couldn’t resist sitting down for a quick plate of Thai rice and curry at Khao Gaeng Jek Puey (ข้าวแกงเจ๊กปุ้ย). I got my usual order of stir fried crab, and I also decided to have the panang curry as well. This is one of the best Thai street food stalls in Bangkok especially for the incredibly atmosphere. We continued walking through Talad Drok Itsara Nuphap (ตลาดตรอกอิสรานุภาพ) - a market in an alley.
15:07 Lek and Rut Seafood (ร้านเล็กกับรัตน์ซีฟู้ด) - When it comes to Thai food in Chinatown, seafood is one of the most popular choices. This time we ate at Lek and Rut Seafood (ร้านเล็กกับรัตน์ซีฟู้ด), which is right across the street from the other famous T and K seafood restaurant. We ordered some roasted prawns, and squid steamed in lime juice, garlic and chilies. The food was delicious!
21:56 Kuay Jab Nay Lek (ร้านก๋วยจั๊บนายเล็ก (อ้วน) - A Thai food trip to Chinatown wouldn’t be complete without a bowl of kuay jab tuk yang (ก๋วยจั๊บทุกอย่าง), which is a bowl of noodle rolls in a peppery broth. It’s one of the ultimate Thai dishes in Chinatown.
25:28 Hoy Kraeng Pa Jeen (หอยแครงป้าจิน) - To end the day of eating, at least for main street food stalls, we headed to Hoy Kraeng Pa Jeen (หอยแครงป้าจิน), a place that specializes in boiled blood cockles and mussels. They are some of the finest shellfish you’ll find anywhere in Bangkok, and this Thai street food stall has been around for over 50 years I believe. It’s an amazing place!
30:15 For dessert we had Khanom Pang Jao Gao (ขนมปังเจ้าเก่าเด็ดในเยาวราช), an incredibly popular place that specializes in grilled bread, and bua loy nam king (บัวลอยน้ำขิง), which is ginger soup and sesame dumplings.

Thailand Essen - Die ULTIMATIVE Food Tour in Bangkok Chinatown!
Wir bestellen gedämpfte Shrimps (Goong Neung Manao – กุ้งนึ่งมะนาว, 300 THB – 8,92 EUR), gegrillten Tintenfisch (Pla Muek Yang – ปลาหมึกย่าง, 200 THB – 5,94 EUR) und Wasserspinat (Yot Marawan - ยอดมะระหวานผัดน้ำมันหอย, 80 THB - 2,38 EUR).
Hoy Kraeng Pa Jeen (หอยแครงป้าจิน)
Chinese Desserts
Hier essen wir zwei beliebte Thai-Chinesische Nachspeisen: Sesam-Dumplings in warmen Inger-Wasser (Bua Loy Nam King Nga Dam – บัวลอยน้ำขิงงาดำ, 40 THB - 1,19 EUR) und Thai-Chinesisches Obst mit Eis (Pae Guai Ponlamai Jin – แปะก๊วยผลไม้จีน, 30 THB - 0,89 EUR).
Ran Nam Som Cheng

THAILAND FOOD TOURS was started by our passion in food and traveling. Born and raised in Thailand, our roots have always been firmly planted in Thai culture and culinary.
In early 2011, we started our mission to introduce Thailand’s local flavor to the world and help visitors “eat like a Thai”. We launched Bangkok Food Tours to let visitors from all over the world experience the ultimate food and cultural exploration. Besides tasting delicious food, all participants will learn fascinating history and rich culture in neighborhoods, sharing from the true insider.

Thai Street Food in Bangkok - MOST POPULAR LUNCH Noodles in Downtown Silom, Thailand!
Thai street food lunch tour in Silom, Bangkok!
I met up with my friend Drew Binsky (check out his YouTube channel: and Facebook: to go on a lunch-rush street food tour of Silom.
Silom is one of the main financial business districts of Bangkok, it’s a downtown of Bangkok. Everyday at lunch floods of people from their offices come down for lunch and enjoy delicious street food. What I love so much about Silom is because it has such a vibrant and busy lunchtime rush, and that’s part of the fun.
We arrived a little early, to get a couple lunches in before the main lunch. The highlight of this Thai street food tour for me was Kuay Teow Khae (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวแคะ (โคตร โคตร) คอนแวนต์), one of the most popular lunch noodles shops in Bangkok!
Ok, here’s all the food we ate in this tour:
Khao Man Gai Ban Deed Kim (ข้าวมันไก่บัญฑิตคิม) - If you’ve ever gotten off the BTS at Sala Daeng station and walked down Soi Convent, you’ve probably walked right by this stall. And I’ve walked past it hundreds of times, but this was actually my first time to stop and eat there. They are well known in Bangkok for their khao man gai (ข้าวมันไก่), Thai style Hainanese chicken and rice. We each ordered a plate to get things started. Overall, very good, light fluffy rice with just the right amount if chicken oil, bouncy chicken, and fermented soybean sauce.
Price - 50 THB ($1.52)
Yee Jay (ยีเจ ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเนื้อตุ๋น-หมูตุ๋น) - Next we took a little walk through Silom, Downtown Bangkok, to another popular beef noodle shop. Again, it was my first time to eat here. We arrived before the main lunch rush, but at 11 am they were already preparing for the crowds with big amounts of meat waiting to be served. We had bowls of everything (เกาเหลาทุกอย่าง), including organs and braised beef. Their soup was fragrant with Chinese spices and the aroma of beef. It’s not the best bowl of braised beef soup in Bangkok, but it’s decent.
Price - 70 THB ($2.14)
Kuay Teow Khae (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวแคะ (โคตร โคตร) คอนแวนต์) - Finally for the main lunch, we went to one of the most popular Thai street food noodle stalls in Silom. For lunch everyday they are packed, every single seat, and if you arrive at a time like when we did, you have to wait to get a seat - sometimes 30 minutes or more. They have a few different options, but we all ordered their signature special bowl (เส้นโซบะยำแห้ง), including egg noodles topped with everything. This is one of the better single bowls of noodles in Bangkok in my opinion.
Price - 60 THB ($1.83)
Khanom Tokyo (ขนมโตเกียว (ลุงโตเกียว) - Lastly, to end this Thai street food tour in Bangkok, we were just walking past with Uncle Tokyo called us over to try his snacks. He makes both savory (with a hot dog) and sweet versions, filled with a variety of different custards. Drew and I had to try the hot dog, mostly just for fun… I’ll be honest, not a big fan of Thai hot dogs, but the sweet ones were great. And Uncle Tokyo is such a nice friendly man. If you are on Soi Convent in Silom around lunchtime, go say hi to him!
Price - 4 for 10 THB ($0.30)
And that completes this Thai street food tour in Silom, hope you enjoyed it!
