Visiting Banjhakri Waterfall (Gangtok)
Banjhakri Waterfall is about 8 kms from Gangtok and 12 kms before Ranka Monastery. This waterfall is much bigger compared to Bakthang waterfall in Gangtok town. It is a 100-ft waterfall is located in a 2-acre area. The area looks more attractive because of various improvements made by the tourism department. You can see many statues, life size sculptures of jhakri culture, artificial structures, parks, flowers, bridge, pool with a dragon at the center, fountains etc which are very colorful and add to the beauty of the place. There is a small entrance fee to visit this place and a fee for the camera too. This is a wonderful picnic spot and a must visit if you are visiting Ranka monastery.
