Bannerghatta Biological Park Bangalore
Bannerghatta National Park, near Bangalore, Karnataka, was founded in 1970 and declared as a national park in 1974.In 2002 a portion of the park, became a biological reserve, the Bannerghatta Biological Park. It is a popular tourist destination with a zoo, a pet corner, an animal rescue centre, a butterfly enclosure, an aquarium, a snake house and a safari park. There are ancient temples in the park for worship and it is a destination for trekking and hiking.
There are various BMTC buses as well as Private buses/Taxies Plying from various parts of City to Bannergatta National Park
Week ends are normally crowded and difficult to get safari ticket unless you have booked the tickets online

Finally I made the video of me visiting Bannerghatta National Park. This was my third time here and I enjoyed a lot especially, the Jungle Safari. I was able to get footage of Jungle Safari which include Lion, Tiger, Bear and Herbivore Safari. For the first time I have visited the Butterfly Park, Butterfly Museum and the Zoo in Bannerghatta National Park.

Welcome to the documentary of Bannerghatta National Park Bangalore, one of the best tourist places in Banglaore, located amidst Bannerghatta forests in the valley of the famous Champakadhama hills.

Bannerghatta National Park, near Bangalore, Karnataka, was founded in 1970 and declared as a national park in 1974. In 2002 a portion of the park, became a biological reserve, the Bannerghatta Biological Park. The Zoo Authority of Karnataka, the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, and the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and Environment (ATREE), Bangalore, are collaborating agencies. Within the national park area are six rural villages enclosed within three large enclosures for sheep and cattle farming.[3] This park offers a wide range of diverse wildlife to the exploradoras. Coming from the finest of Bengaluru, Karnataka, this park offers a guided bus tour all along the 6 km safari roads, which is specially made for safarists and foreign tourist gatherers.

Bannerghatta National Park is an asylum for a large variety of flora and fauna. Spread over a massive area of around 104.27 sq. km, this national park was established in the year 1971. The park itself has a number of establishments within its confines, which includes the country's first butterfly park as well. Other attractions here are ten Reserve Forests of Anekal Range of the Bangalore Forest Division, an aquarium, a zoo, Children's park, Crocodile Farm, Snake Park, Prehistoric Animals' Park and a museum. What's more, you can get up close and personal with the wondrous wildlife here by the means of a jungle safari, which is a popular activity to pursue here.

Bannerghatta Butterfly Park was conceptualized as one integrated center that would support education, conservation and research activities with exclusive focus on butterflies as flagship ambassadors of conservation.
Bannerghatta Butterfly Park has the following major components:
1. A Butterfly garden to sustain local butterfly population
2. A butterfly conservatory enclosed under polycarbonate roof
3. Research and captive breeding laboratory
4. A museum
5. A Curio shop
Butterfly park is shaped in the form of a dome. Hundreds of species of butterfly are fluttering around you as you walk by. It was an off season when we went, but the place was very well maintained. Got lots of information about the why and what of butterflies - came to know the complete life cycle of butterflies. The best time to visit is during June - July. You can check out live and framed butterflies. They also have a quick movie on butterflies.
Good to go with kids, there are many butterflies and caterpillars and they can learn about the life cycle.This is one of its kind and very interesting place to visit!!!

Bannerghatta National Park is located at a distance of 22 km south of Bangalore. This 25,000 acre zoological park was established in 1971 and is one of the major tourist destinations of Bangalore. Ten reserve forests of Anekal Range of the Bangalore Forest Division come under this national park. One of the main attractions of Bannerghatta National Park is lion and tiger safari. The Tiger Reserve of the park has been recognized by the Forest Department of India. The other attractions of this park include its crocodile, snake farm and the Butterfly park.
