Turtle Beach in Hawaii - Laniakea Beach, North Shore, Haleiwa, Oahu
Aloha!
Today we take you to the North Shore to visit Laniakea Beach, otherwise known as turtle beach. The reason for this video is to, as much as possible provide education about our island's Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle.
Many tourists visit our islands and don't know that touching or harassing a turtle in Hawaii is illegal. As Honu Guardians for Malama Na Honu we hope you enjoy this video.

Pupukea Beach Park in Honolulu - Hawaii - United States
Pūpūkea is a community and census-designated place (CDP) in the Koʻolauloa District on the island of Oʻahu, City & County of Honolulu, Hawaii, United States. In Hawaiian, pūpūkea means white shell. As of the 2010 Census, the CDP had a population of 4,551.[1] The Koʻolauloa District ends at Waimea Bay, with the Waialua District extending south and westward.
Pūpūkea is a popular area on Oʻahu's North Shore for living and for visiting. The best known surfing sites of Velzyland, Sunset (at Sunset Beach Park), Kammieland, Pūpūkea, ʻEhukai, Pipeline (these latter two off adjacent ʻEhukai Beach Park and Banzai Beach) and lesser breaks are arrayed off this shore. Popular diving areas known as Three Tables and Sharks Cove are located at Pūpūkea Beach Park. At the southwest end of Pūpūkea is Waimea Bay, with one of the most popular beaches on the island forming the shore at Waimea Beach Park. More info:

WAIMEA BAY BEACH PARK - HALEIWA - OAHU - HAWAII

A day in Hale'iwa north shore Hawaii
I took some video of out trip to the North Shore of Oahu to a little town called Hale' iwa. We visited XCEL surf shop which is a small company that makes high quality wet suits right in the basement of the store. (made in America) They actually make wet suits for a few high speed low drag military units on the island.
Then we get some shave ice at Aokis. We go to Aokis because my wife and her sister went to high school with the owner.
Then we take the kids to Ali'i beach park. The wave are small which is great for the kids and there were turtles feeding just a few feet away from the beach.
Not a bad way to spend a day in Hawaii.
HALEIWA HAWAII, Part Two
For our second day in Oahu, we woke up early and hit up Pipe Masters to watch the surfers. After that we made a huge breakfast, drank champagne and made out way to the beach. There, we swam with turtles and watched an incredible sunset. These were just a few of the things we did on our second day in Hawaii!

Oahu, SCUBA Diving - Tom Barefoot
Visit for more information. Scuba Diving in Oahu - Many people have the mistaken impression that Oahu does not have the quality dive locations that exist on other islands. On the contrary, Oahu has some of the best dive locations in the state, and they're located on all sides of the island. A short list of dive locations on Oahu would include: Mahi Wreck and Makaha Caverns, Black Rock and Land of Oz, Airplane and Kea'au Corners, Haleiwa Wall and Turtle Cleaning Station, Angler's Reef and Koko Craters, Baby Barge and Fantasy Reef, Corsair Wreck and China Wall Drift, Sea Tiger Wreck and Turtle Canyons, The Trench and many more. Many people can, and do, spend their entire vacation diving on Oahu as Oahu is one of the most interesting dive locations in Hawaii.

Oahu Dive Sites - Keiki
Keiki Beach is located right next to the famous winter surf spot called Pipeline. This is only a summer sandy shore dive or snorkel spot. The reef is flat at about 20 feet deep for about 50 years then drops off into a series of steep walled canyons. Along these walls are lots of invertebrates like pin cushion starfish, octopus, colorful nudibranchs, and much more. It is an easy dive but one should always check with the life guards before diving to make it is safe from waves and currents.
Turtle Beach in Hawaii - Laniakea North Shore Oahu
Laniakea Turtle Beach in Hawaii is a top location in Oahu. Read more here
It is located on the North Shore Oahu about 2.5 miles East of Haleiwa and just a 50 minute drive from Honolulu and Waikki Beach. Visiting the turtles is one of the best things to do in all of Hawaii and the most turtles are out daily from roughly Noon-3pm to sun themselves and eat. More details to come including how to get to turtle beach and where is Laniakea Beach.
High surf on the North Shore has residents worried about erosion
Winter swells are drawing thousands to Oahu's North Shore, but homeowners are trying to protect their property from falling into the ocean.
