Newcastle Bible Reading Marathon
Some of our staff and students had the privilege of participating in the Newcastle Bible Reading Marathon hosted by Newcastle Baptist Tabernacle. The marathon took place in lead up to the National Day of Prayer & Fasting on the 25th of February. It was wonderful to partner with the churches of Newcastle and proclaim the Word of God over the city.

Rev. Seth Jones, Newcastle, NSW
A visit to the tabernacle and grave site of my first cousin, five times removed, the Reverend Seth Jones (b. 1848 d. 1904). Born in Anglesey, North Wales, Rev. Jones founded the Baptist Tabernacle of Newcastle, New South Wales (Australia) and served as its pastor for 19 years.
Extract from:
It was John Evans's successor at Newcastle who became perhaps the most remarkable Welsh minister to come to these shores. Rev Seth Jones (1848- 1904) was minister of Newcastle Baptist Tabernacle from 1885 until his death in 1904. Born 12 January 1848 into an old Welsh family in Anglesey, North Wales he was asked, aged 18, to exercise his gift of preaching which he did on occasions in his own and neighbouring churches. In 1869 he began three years of study at Haverford West College following which he accepted a call to an influential church at Blean in Pembrokeshire where he laboured for ten years. How he came to Australasia is unknown except that he apparently toured New Zealand and was in Victoria in 1884 at the Eaglehawk church near Ballarat where there was a Welsh community.

Tell The World
The correct equations, but the wrong interpretation.
The result was sadness, pain and discouragement. That’s how the story of the Seventh-day Adventist Church begins.
Based on true events, Tell The World shares the compelling story of a small group of farmers from the northeast region of the United States. They set the foundation of an organization that has been at the forefront of issues such as health, education, communication and Biblical interpretation.
