LAYOVER EATS: BAR GEN YAMAMOTO in TOKYO, JAPAN
Hi guys, welcome back to my channel KamanGround. My name is Kaman and I am a flight attendant that make videos on what I eat during my layovers and trips. This episode of Layover Eats is going to be a little different.
I wanted to tell you guys about my experience at Gen Yamamoto. For those of you who don’t know, Gen Yamamoto is a cocktail tasting bar in the Roppongi area of Tokyo. It’s a one-man show ran by Gen Yamamoto himself.
He only offers a 4 or 6 drink cocktail tasting menu and the menu changes with seasons. What I love about this place is that the menu is never set so you never know what you’re going to get.
When you walk in, it’s quite a small intimate place that can seat maybe 10 people. The night we went, there were 5 of us. It’s extremely quiet and intimate so I didnt want to disturb other people’s experience that’s why I decided to do a different style of editing for this episode.
It's been a while, as you can see, since I experienced the tasting menu at Gen Yamamoto, so please correct me if I made any mistakes with the descriptions. I reallllly tried to rack my brain for the ingredients and researched on instagram, too.

いち早くフレア・バーテンディングに可能性を見出し、1993年から技術研鑽を重ねてきた北條さん。以来、国内外の数々のカクテルコンペティションで受賞するとともに、日本でのフレア・バーテンディングの認知度の向上に大きな貢献を果たしてきました。2013年に、セルビア生まれのヴァイオリニスト ネマニャ・ラドゥロヴィチ氏の名を冠した「Cocktail Bar Nemanja」をオープンし、音楽と同様に美しいハーモニーを奏でるカクテルを提供しています。その輝かしいキャリアの始まりには、コアントローとの出合いがありました。
そんな思い出と、現在のテクニックや知識を融合させて開発したカクテルは「Angers Side」と「Truffle Sidecar」の２種類。
