Perfect and Easy Coastal Trail on Camino del Norte - Las Barqueras, Barayo, Puerto de Vega- Day 27
On the Day 27 of our Camino de Santiago del Norte we got from las Barqueras to the outskirts of Navia in Asturias.
We started our day by walking first 2 kms on the busy car road and turned away to the nature reserve El Barayo. We planned to hike in direction to Navia as long as we could and follow the path along the coast that we saw on the map. El Barayo turned out to be a site where they preserve the dune nature and fauna which is typical to these places but nowadays because of the human intervention gets extinct. The beach was beautiful where hundreds of seagulls were chilling out at the ocean side close to the river. There we saw the first indicator sign of the local white and yellow trail of the coastal path that we were to follow all that day. To our surprise this trail was perfectly signed and was stretching all along the coast all the way to Navia. It was absolutely breathtaking...

We are a couple who once fell in love with mountains and couldn't get back. So we decided to follow our heart and move from a big city to a small village to be able to do what we love and to create this content. Our goal is to promote the healthy lifestyle, to motivate people to travel more and care for nature around. We are passionate walkers who love hiking, trekking and camping. We offer the detailed information of our hikes and routes, including the map and all the directions, so that you can repeat it if you'd like to.
We choose walking over driving and other types of transportation whenever we can because we learnt that this way we see so much more and can explore and feel the place better. Walking is an excellent activity that has so many benefits to your health and requires no special equipment or practice, so we encourage you to get the most out of it and get out walking.
We speak English, Spanish, French and Russian, so don't hesitate to address to us in your native language.

Diary of a Traveler.
This time we moved the small fishing port of Puerto de Vega in the Asturian town of Navia and walk along the cliffs of the coast to the wild beach Barayo between the municipalities of Navia and Valdés whose capital is Luarca and which is the Giant Squid museum, one of the sea creatures inhabiting these coasts.

Discovering hidden scenic beaches in Asturias | Camino del Norte from Luarca to Playa de Otur-Day 26
On the Day 26 of our Camino de Santiago del Norte we got from the town of Luarca to Playa de Otur in Asturias.
We ended up liking the camping Los Cantiles quite a lot when in the morning we had time to explore it. It was very spacious green space with lots of different spots to camp and the proximity of the ocean and incredible views from it - make it a special place. So we walked out of the camping and headed straight to the lighthouse to get a closer view of it. The lighthouse itself was nothing special but the white chapel at the side of it was standing out. Town was located in the couloir between hills on different levels. So we got that it was an actual fishing village because of the amount of boats parked in the port. Then we went up to the Ermita on the other side of the town and continued walking along the coast...
