Barbati beach, Corfu, Greece, lovely chill out beach
Barbati Corfu: The beautiful coastal settlement of Barbati is situated 17 km north of Corfu Town. It lies around the natural bay, one of the most impressive beaches of Corfu huged by the lush green forests and verdurous hills. The beach itself is quite inviting for its crystalline waters and the white shiny pebbles. In the past it was actually awarded with the Blue Flag for its cleanness and organization.
At the beach you will find plenty of sunbeds, umbrellas and watersports facilities. Small tour boats are also available for a short and exciting trip to the bearby bays. Taverns and bars dominate the wider area serving delicious Corfiot flavors and cold drinks
The town
Barbati is located near Pantokratorasmountain and offers a marvelous view over Corfu old town, the Venetian fortress and the far Albanian mountains.
Barbati is placed in a part of the coast that is rich of lovely bays and hidden caves and has a beautiful white stones beach.

This village can offer the tourists both the sea and the mountain and it has been developed into two different areas.
One is higher along the coast road, is more chaotic with its bars and shops.
The second part of Barbati is more tranquil, is surrounded by olive trees and in order to reach it you have to follow the unpaved roads that from the coastal road bring to the sea.
The beach
This is one of the several beaches in Corfu island rewarded with the Blue Flag by the European Community for the cleanness of its sea water.
To reach the beach you need to follow the streets that from the coastal road will take you down to the sea.
Just behind the beach there’s a nice green area where you can relax under olive trees shadow.
How to move
Barbati is connected to Corfu town by the local daily bus service.
There is also a taxi boat service that permits you to reach Ipsos and the near bay of Nisaki.
The shops
There are not so many shops in Barbati, but it doesn’t lack of supermarket or tourist shops.
Amusement
For a good meal there are several local restaurants near the sea.
Barbati does not offer a great night life, it is the ideal place for those who search a calm place without renouncing to a cocktail in the evening.

Corfu island a beautiful place to be......
A city packed tight between two fortresses, Corfu’s Old Town is a knot of walkable streets and alleys between Venetian and Neoclassical houses painted pale yellow and orange. Between the Old Town and the Old Fortress is the Spianada, a long green square that is a remnant of the Venetian fortifications in the 17th century.
Corfu’s foremost church is from 1580 and its Renaissance bell tower is the highest in the Ionian Islands. Hosting the relics of St Spyridon, brought to Corfu City from Constantinople in the 15th century.
The Palace of St. Michael and St. George is a palace in Corfu. Commissioned by Sir Thomas Maitland, it originally served as the residence of the British Lord High Commissioner of the Ionian Islands. It was built between 1819 and 1824, to a neoclassical design of Colonel George Whitmore. The building is also known as the Royal Palace, the City Palace or locally by the Greek name Palaia Anaktora.
One of Corfu’s signature images, the Vlacherna Monastery is on an islet at the end of a narrow jetty off the southern end of the Kanoni Peninsula.
Pontikonisi (Mouse Island), according to legend Pontokonisi is Ulysses’ ship after it was turned to stone by Poseidon.
Agios Gordios is situated on the west coast of Corfu. Set in the middle of Corfu Island, Agios Gordis location is ideal to explore the island by car or bike.
Porto Timoni is a unique beach, hidden and not very known, below Agios Georgios Pagi village and Afionas. Actuallly, there are two different beaches which are separated by a small strip of land. The small one is Limni and the big one is Porto Timoni.
Halikounas beach the largest sandy beach on the west Corfu. It has brown fine golden sand and permanent waves, perfect for sailing and water sports.
Place 9 kilometres far from Corfu town, Ipsos is a tourist place ideal for young people as there is very long beach for water sports, water park (Ipsos Aqua Arena) and several disco bar-clubs.
Built on a small strip of land in the sea, the chapel of Ypapanti is the “trademark” of the Kommeno Bay.

Barbati Beach - Corfu
* * *
* * *

Agios Gordios Corfu
☆★☆ Agios Gordios Corfu ☆★☆
It is one of the most popular beaches of Corfu and it took its name from the church of Agios Gordios located literally on the sea, at the centre of the beach. The beautiful cove is nested amongst the lush green mountain surrounded by olive tree forests, vineyards and impressive rocks. To reach the beach of Agios Gordios you pass through a beautiful road full of vineyards and high olive trees. Once you reach the beach you will meet plenty of tourists facilities to enjoy a comfortable sunbathing. The crystalline waters are ideal for a refreshing swim while water sports equipment are also available for both children and adults. During the say, the beach is quite noisy with children playing in the waves. The beach is bordered by the impressive Ortholithi, a huge rock emerging from the sea. With its important infrastructure and beautiful landscape, Agios Gordios offers the ideal summer destination. Source: greeka.com

This village is developed following the coast and permits the tourists to choose between many entertainment and services for both day and night.
