Barcola Trieste – The Viale Miramare
The Italian port city of Trieste on the border with Slovenia is a beautiful place to visit, but while you are there checkout the northwestern suburb. Locals know it well. The maritime neighbourhood of Barcola, Trieste is popular with locals and Italian holidaymakers alike. This long strip of coastal land with stunning views across Trieste Bay was popular even during Roman times, when it was dotted with villas. Protected from the ferocious Bora wind by high cliffs, it has remained a popular location for summer beach activities. The long promenade stretches nearly 4kms ending at the lovely Miramare Castle, and is perfect for long, lazy strolls, cycling or even running at any time of the year. There are lots of shady spots and coffee and snack bars along the way, and plenty of bathing and swimming spots to choose from. The Pineta di Barcola (Barcola Pinewoods) provides shade during the hot summer days and there are lots of great playgrounds for the kids, and bars for the bigger kids.
At the end of the day you can watch, or photograph as I do, the beautiful sunsets beside the Castello di Miramare.....

IL NOTIZIARIO (venerdì 19 luglio 2019) - Siamo stati a Barcola per sentire le opinioni dei cittadini sul caso del 52enne austriaco multatto per 300 euro per ave appeso l'amaca tra due alberi.
Trieste, debutta la zona fitness a Barcola
TRIESTE Sbarre di varie misure e altezze, panche per flessioni e piegamenti, anelli dove appendersi per allenare i muscoli. È ormai quasi ultimata nella pineta di Barcola larea fitness, dove sono state installate diverse attrezzature, oltre al pavimento antiurto, una zona al momento ancora transennata, fino allinaugurazione ufficiale, in programma la prossima settimana.
