Dolphins are one of the most recognizable and beloved creatures in the sea, and have been the subject of much study over the years.
Dolphins are uniquely built, like a torpedo in the water. They typically swim in the 3 to 7 mile per hour range, but when needed they can accelerate to over 20 miles per hour!
Their ability to swim so fast baffled researchers for many years. It has been determined that their powerful tails provide the thrust needed for such speeds.
Dolphins navigate using Echolocation, which is essentially sonar. They send out sounds and listen to the echo that bounces back. That tells them exactly what is around them, and where their prey is when hunting.
Hubbard's marina operates two large party boats or head boats plus a 12 passenger private charter boat. Our party boats run 5 hour,10 hour, 12 hour and 39 hour trips!
Our 12 hour and 39 hour trips are our specialty trips where you can catch the amberjack and red snapper, and we fish in over 120 foot where the big grouper and plentiful snapper roam. Come out and see us!
Or book our AWESOME 63-hour DEEP DROP fishing trip!

Stingrays near shore, shallow flats and bays: first aid
Southern stingrays (dasyatis americana) live near shores and bays lie partially buried in sand with only eyes, spiracle and tail exposed. Shuffle while wading to scare them away. If you get stung immerse wound in hot water to neutralize sting and get proper medical attention.
Bald Point State Park - Florida
One of the many beautiful State Parks on Florida's Forgotten Coast. This was one of our day trips from our spot in Carrabelle Beach. It included a beautiful serene beach with a fair amount of sea shells and other flotsam and jetsom. Yoly gathered sea shells while I shot video then we walked across the road to the forest and hiked some of the hiking trails. When we got back to The Heart of Gold that night I made our favorite sashimi dinner :-)
