Agumbe, Barkana Falls View Point | Raingasm Ride Day 3 Final
Weather was amazing when we woke up in the morning as always in Agumbe, we rode to Barkana falls viewpoint. The place is completely deserted and you won't find people to ask around. We have to park pur bikes at somepoint and then walk from there to Barkana Falls viewpoint.
The Barkana Falls, formed by Seetha River, is a water falls located near Agumbe in Shimoga district of state of Karnataka, India and the water falls is among the ten highest waterfalls in India.
Unfortunately due to thick fog we couldn't get get to see the falls even after waiting for hours. then blood sucking leeches started attacking so we had to run away. But still we had few leech bites. Finally we reached bangalore.

Trek & Trip plan
Saturday, 16th November: Reach Malandur by 5/5:30 AM and freshen up, have breakfast, pack lunch and begin the trek. The trek goes via deep forests of Western Ghats of Agumbe. On the way quench your thirst at Barakana waterfalls. Please note, during the trek there are no water sources other than Barakana waterfall. So each of us must carry at least 2 ltr water.
Trek distance is around 12-13 kms.
Trek start point: Malandur.
Trek End point: Kigga.
Time: min 6-8 hrs. depends on our pace.
After finishing the trek night halt at Maghebeilu home stay.
During the Naraimha Parvatha trek ee may encounter leeches. Leech repellent- Only tobacco or snuff powder or salt. Pls AVOID dettol, deo/body spray or any sort of chemical products. Applying snuff powder mixed with any oil is the best leech solution. Lemongrass oil, Neem oil are also useful. All tested ok.
Sunday, 16th November: Trek to Manipura Kote betta, a very short trek. This is optional. Anyone not interested can stay back at Maghebeilu home stay and relax. After finishing the trek we all take a dip into the Maghebeilu waterfall. Finish our lunch and leave for Bangalore by 2:30/3 PM

Nice place people can visit in ☔ season because it's look good in nature. View point also good. But forest is dangerous try to go with the friends.

About 12 KM from Agumbe, there is a thin, but very scenic waterfalls. Seetha river drops here at least 500 feet. We filmed this from on top of the Barkana falls. It is thick western Ghats forest 360 degrees from here!

About the place -
Agumbe lies in a hilly, wet region of the Western Ghat mountains. This geography contributes to its scenery and suitability for trekking. In addition,
Agumbe is a settlement situated in the Thirthahalli taluk of Shimoga district, Karnataka, India. It is nestled in the thickly forested Malenadu region of the Western Ghats mountain range.
Owing to its high rainfall, it has received the name of The Cherrapunji of South India, after Cherrapunji, one of the rainest places in India.
The wettest month in Agumbe is July with an average rainfall of 2,647 mm. The mean annual rainfall is 7,620 millimeters and the highest recorded rainfall in a single month was 4,508 millimeters in 1946 in the month of August.
The village is also known as the The Cherrapunji of the South in Northeast India.
The Agumbe Rainforest Research Station managed the world's first radio-telemetry project on the King Cobra an endangered species is the station's flagship species
