Two dogs confined to a hot car, Charlottesville, VA 04Aug13
This video was captured in front of the Barnes & Noble book store in Barracks Road Shopping Center, Charlottesville, VA.
Granted, the windows were cracked. But as the chart at the bottom of this page ( shows, my estimation that it was about 75 degrees at 10:30am on this date was pretty accurate. Assuming the dogs had been in that car for ten minutes, according to scientific research ( the interior temperature would have risen to around 95 degrees; after twenty minutes, it would have risen to about 105 degrees.
Not knowing how long the dogs been in that car, I called the police, then went to speak to the managers of the Barnes & Noble and neighboring merchants, and asked them to summon whoever owned that car, to notify them that the police had been called for suspected animal neglect.
I waited around for a few minutes, but neither the police nor the owner showed up. At that point I had done all I could, and wanted to get Shayna out of the sun -- as you can see, she was panting pretty hard.

SUMMARY
=======
Charlottesville, colloquially known as C'ville and officially named the City of Charlottesville, is an independent city in the Commonwealth of Virginia. In 2016, an estimated 46,912 people lived within the city limits. It is the county seat of Albemarle County, which surrounds the city, though the two are separate legal entities. This means a resident will list Charlottesville as both their county and city on official paperwork. It is named after the British Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. The Bureau of Economic Analysis combines the City of Charlottesville with the County of Albemarle for statistical purposes, bringing its population to approximately 150,000. Charlottesville is the heart of the Charlottesville metropolitan area, which includes Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, and Nelson counties.
Charlottesville was the home of two Presidents, Thomas Jefferson and James Monroe. During their terms as Governor of Virginia, they lived in Charlottesville, and traveled to and from Richmond, along the 71-mile (114 km) historic Three Notch'd Road. Orange, located 26 miles (42 km) northeast of the city, was the hometown of President James Madison. The University of Virginia, founded by Jefferson and one of the original Public Ivies, straddles the city's southwestern border. Monticello, 3 miles (4.8 km) southeast of the city, is, along with the University of Virginia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, attracting thousands of tourists every year.

West Virginia State Police Radio Traffic of Attempt to Assassinate President Trump Part 3
On 3/27/19, West Virginia State Police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling 130mph traveling eastbound on I-68, towards Washington D.C.
Upon further investigation the driver admitted to having explosives in the vehicle, and was enroute to assassinate President Trump and blow up the Pentagon.
I-68 was completely shutdown for 16 miles, an incredible standoff distance even if the vehicle was a Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED). Three canine explosives dog alerted on the vehicle.
Eventually, fire /EMS, FBI, ATF, and Secret Service arrived on scene.
Unconfirmed reports have stated that device in question was a dirty bomb (a traditional bomb surrounded by a radiological material, that disperses radiation over the target area after detonation).

LP Candidate Robert Sarvis Press Conference on ABC - August 5, 2013
Robert Sarvis, the Libertarian Party of Virginia's nominee for governor in 2013, spoke at a press conference in Charlottesville on August 5, 2013, on the topic of alcoholic beverage control and law enforcement.
Sarvis spoke in front of the ABC retail store at the Barracks Road Shopping Center. On April 11, 2013, the Barracks Road Shopping Center was the location of an incident that gained national and international attention, when six plainclothes ABC agents attempted to apprehend three college students whose case of just-purchased sparkling water was mistaken by the agents for beer. The students, who did not perceive the agents as police, panicked and tried to flee what appeared to them as a threat. One of the students was arrested, charged with three felonies, and forced to spend a night and day in jail. All charges were later dropped.
In his press conference, Sarvis proposed separating the ABC's law enforcement functions from its wholesale and retail functions and vesting those functions in other law enforcement agencies, such as the State Police and local sheriff's and police departments. He also called for privatizing the ABC and putting liquor sales into the hands of the private sector. He said he would work with state Senator Creigh Deeds and other legislators to translate these proposals into law.
For more information, see
Sarvis is running against Republican nominee Ken Cuccinelli and Democratic nominee Terry McAuliffe in the November 2013 general election.

'Housing the Future: A Disruptive Futures Dialogue' - June 28, 2018
The only cities worth building, indeed the only futures worth dreaming of, are those that include all of us, no matter who we are or how we make homes for ourselves.
–OluTimehin Adegbeye
Like DNA to our bodies, housing is the building block of thriving communities. It is the critical link connecting our culture, health, education, economic capacity, history, and belonging. Like many cities around the world, Santa Fe is facing a major housing crisis. The lack of affordable housing, coupled with concerns around displacement, has many residents wondering about the sustainability of our city.
In partnership with New Mexico Inter-Faith Housing, the Santa Fe Community Foundation, and the Santa Fe Art Institute, Creative Santa Fe hosted a public dialogue event to examine current issues in housing, highlight affordable housing initiatives led by local organizations, and explore bold, disruptive ideas for a future where everyone has access to housing. We invited renowned social impact designer Liz Ogbu to discuss how housing is the key to building sustainable communities.
What does science fiction have to do with housing?
“Are we brave enough to imagine beyond the boundaries of ‘the real’ and then do the hard work of sculpting reality from our dreams?” This question is posed by the creators of Octavia’s Brood, a published anthology and working group of visionary leaders who help communities create pathways to social justice through the powerful tool of science fiction. Writer and musician Gabriel Teodros of Octavia’s Brood helped us “to uncover the truths buried in the fantastical – and to inject a healthy dose of the fantastical into our search for truth” by leading a science fiction writing workshop which invited participants to create their own stories, visions, and ideas for a future–or many futures–in which everyone in Santa Fe has a home.
